Great Value for money. Ensuite comfy bed coffee and tea in room . Excellent breakfast.

Room very tired decor Peeling furniture varnish threadbare carpets. Breakfast coffee in butlers . Coffee is an important drink nowadays a proper coffee machine please.

Staff superb! the one lady met at reception was lovely, really helpful and appeared to do many of the roles; from duty manager to serving breakfast and clearing away a very hard worker. Lovely humour. The breakfast was ample and a range of choices. The evening meal was delicious we selected the mint,pea and corgette risotto with added chicken.Never had it before and would definitely chose again a lovely subtle taste and texture. Beds in room really comfortable. Close to all amenities locally. Thanks for the stay.

Maintenance of the rooms could do with some upkeep. The shower was dribbling water rather than spraying it due to limescale build up. A cupboard leading to piping in bathroom near the floor needed a lock or catch on it as it kept opening and the bathroom door handle didn't close without locking it with latch internally. All are minor issues that could be fixed with regular highlighting by onsite maintenance. Requested a non slip mat for inside bath as own mobility an issue, it was provided but feel that should be there already to prevent slipping in shower, from a health and safety side.

Clean and comfortable room. Shower had good pressure and hot water. The room had a kettle, coffee/tea, fan, heater, iron and board, hair dryer. The car park was spacious and free, great location. The breakfast was really good and very staff friendly

I am a light sleeper and found the road noise loud into the evening, however my boyfriend slept through it - this would depend on the individual. It’s a good trade off for a central location with ample parking. Curtains could have blocked more of the light and heavy curtains could block some noise (note this is a likely a listed building given its age and I doubt much could be done for the single pane windows). The hotel is dated but for us that added to its charm (it’s was very clean)

The location was good , car parking was good . My partner and l were given a family room which was the largest hotel room we've ever stayed in ! . The staff were friendly..The room was spotlessly clean , bed comfy. We never ate in the hotel , but did have a drink in the bar . There are a couple of nice pubs nearby. The hotel was reasonably quiet when we stayed .

The hotel is very dated and does need money spent on it , the bar is a bit disappointing, with a juke box . The bar has the character and potential to be a really cozy retreat , but has been cheaply modernized ,and could do with new flooring! Hence we only stayed for one drink . Overall , it's definitely not luxurious, but for the money and location , we would stay again

booked twin room and arrived to find large spacious room with a single and kingsize ( possibly even supering) bed- think it was made up of two more single beds. Very comfortable and clean. TV which had radio stations too, large wardrobe ( plenty of hangers , iron and ironing board) bathroom with shower over the bath. Had not booked breakfast but in the morning we decided to enjoy it there and though they wanted to know the night before they took our order with no issues. Continental ( £7.50)- pastries, cereals, bread,crumpets, fruit juice and fresh fruit with tea and coffee or add a cooked meal ( I had delicious poached eggs and bacon on sourdough toast with hollandaise sauce and my friend had the full english with sausages, eggs, bacon, has browns, mushrooms, tomato and beans) (£12.50). Staff there were very friendly and helpful. Free parking - just give your registration when you check in.

We were told the door would not lock from the outside and told to twist the lock on the inside of the door and then pull the door shut! Easy once we knew and no issues. Shower - we could not get it to work at all - seemed welded shut but a quick trip to reception and the receptionist came up to the room, apologised and then used brute force and get it working! She said she'd get maintenance to look at it and no other issues.

Staff were very friendly. food was a ok quaility just a few issues ordering that were rectified. Evening food good,breakfast disappointing, didn't seem freshly made. Room and bed linen was clean.

Room was very tired, bathroom shelves were missing, hot tap difficult to turn off. Furniture very dated and tatty. All this said, I feel that the low cost probably reflected the quality, so a bargin stay if your not expecting a luxury stay!

Food was nice but a bit disappointed they didn't have a few things on the lunch menu that we wanted but had the roast beef Yorkshire pudding was lovely potatoes were nice but some werea bit to crunchy to eat but was an ok meal room was nice and clean staff were very friendly

Shower was not good and the room smelt of perfume and as my husband is allergic to some smells wasn't very happy, also there was a car prk light right outside our room so when we turned the lights off the whole room was lit up so black out curtains would have been good and the room was a long way from the stairs and a long walk I'm disabled and I had to go up and down the stairs a few times so l was in a bit of pain by the end of my stay, unfortunately due to the amount of pet friendly rooms being on the 1st floor we had the room which was a very long walk to get downstairs so as much as it was a pleasant place to stay don't think we'd stay again

What wonderful staff. All so lovely. Yes the place is a little tired around the edges but this is reflected in the price. And for these employees I would pick it again in a heartbeat. The people make the place not how new the tiles are. And it had parking! They kept the kitchen open late for us, upsized my sons dessert, got me ice for my water bottle in the morning, they had opened the windows and put a fan in our bedroom before we got there. The corridors were boiling (heatwave) but our room was perfect.

A little dated

I have stayed in a lot of Hotels and this one was very good VFM. Staff were excellent. The Hotel was large yet well kept for an old building .Car parking very good and easy. The Hotel was clean and staff ere proud to make sure all was good for you without being pushy. Food was great value for money and well done. Short walk from the Station and ideal for a south coast meeting place. Place felt cosy and was warm on a very cold day. A point to mention was that the Christmas decorations were all up and looked stunning a great job and not just stuck up in a Pub: a lot of care and would rival any venue.
