The staff were absolutely lovely, attentive and helpful, with nothing ever too much trouble. Dion was especially kind and respectful. When my friends and I had unknowingly booked two separate tables for the same group of six, he approached us discreetly to check the numbers and handled it with real grace. Even when extra friends turned up late for dinner on a busy night, we were welcomed without any fuss. Having a restaurant on site was a real bonus, and the included breakfast was both generous and delicious. The room was fairly basic but clean and comfortable, which was just right for a short stay.
The Inn itself has charm, but a few things stood out. My room had the kitchen extractor fan just outside the window, and since the window didn’t close properly, I could hear it humming away. I decided to treat it like white noise, it did stop once the kitchen closed, thankfully. Other guests were quite noisy when returning late at night, which made it a bit hard to settle. The bathroom fan was also rather loud and took its time to switch off and made me think of the oompah song in Willy Wonka! One thing that caught me by surprise was the location. The Inn sits squarely in the middle of a housing estate, so if you’re picturing countryside views, you might want to adjust your expectations.

Dinner was good from a menu offering a wide range of good pub food. The service and standard of food was good especially so since we were booked in on the evening of their monthly 'Quiz Night' Breakfast was cooked well and fresh. It appeared that there was only one person on and so the buffet element of the breakfast could have been looked at slightly more to refresh it. The room was large and comfortable and despite us being over the entrance and the pub being full this was not a disturbance. The bathroom was enormous waith a corner bath, do not expect modern fittings, at least in this room , but all worked well and was clean.
There was nothing , it is a good honest establishment.

A very beautiful property. Highly impressed with the restaurant, the evening food (although alittle expensive) and service was amazing. Breakfast was very good. The room was large and clean, the large bed was comfy and extra blankets and a heater was needed due to the cold weather and the single glazed windows. The towels were AMAZING! Best towels we've come across in a hotel yet.
Not really a negative but this place is in the middle of a housing estate. The room could do with a carpet upgrade. The welcome to breakfast and check out was non existent which was disappointing. Tea and coffee in the room is on a tv cabinet which is quite low to the floor so makes it awkward when making drinks.

Beautiful old thatched roof inn in the middle of a housing estate - very unexpected. Spacious room with a very comfy bed. Staff were very helpful and helped us carry our suitcases up and down two flights of stairs. The pub is very popular with the locals and there was a hens party during our stay so it can get noisy. We expected a bit of noise staying above a pub and didn't mind it. Breakfast was very good - full English, continental, juices, coffee/tea. We also had dinner there and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Very close to Honiton town centre.
They don't have ground floor rooms but helped us with our suitcases.

Charming cosy country cottage vibes perfectly situated close to Honiton and with a lovely pub and restaurant downstairs serving up good drinks and a delicious breakfast. Bedroom was comfortable and clean with a chocolate on the pillow which was a nice touch and a good size bathroom with corner bath. The staff were all friendly and polite and it was ideal for a one night stay to meet up with our friends en route to Cornwall. We will look to stay again in the future when visiting again.
Breakfast could have been improved with being cooked bit more

We stayed over for 2 nights as we had our wedding at Lady Margaret's Medieval Hall which is just around the corner. When we viewed Lady M's we were given a few place names suitable for a small wedding reception.....we headed off to The Heathfield ....at a later date we had a gorgeous meal and stayed the night, the owner and staff are amazing!! They really go that extra mile, we have just had our amazing wedding there and the function room looked amazing...it was just perfect!!! Thank you Brooke, Michael and team!!! Not forgetting David the owner who was actually laid up in hospital until the very last minute.......your team did you proud and thank you for overseeing from your hospital bed, although I suspect Brooke probably gave you a telling off!!! I really hope the photographer took some photos of the room as we didn't :(

We were given a bigger room than we had booked which was very nice. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff lovely and friendly. The hotel suffered a power outage this morning which plunged the hotel and rooms into darkness. Full credit to the chef for getting our cooked breakfasts out as best he could and for the manager coming to explain and apologise. Excellent customer service with a smile despite the stressful situation.
Nothing really. It’s a beautiful 15 Century hotel but in the middle of a modern housing estate which I wasn’t expecting. You would never know it was there and you can’t see the estate from the rooms. Temperature of the bath tap was not very hot.

I'm sorry I can't answer many of the questions properly, as I booked the one night break for some friends who needed a time away. They were thrilled with their room and sent me some photos and I thought the room looked really nice. They were so pleased to have a bath and enjoyed their much needed stay immensely and the breakfast was a bonus, not having to cook it themselves and as one of them is a chef himself and his wife is a brilliant cook, for the breakfast to be a 'real treat', says it all! Thank you to all of you at the Heathfield Inn for our friend's break, and as you are pet friendly, we may book for us in the future with our two dogs.

Stayed here for a stopover for work, a beautiful pub hotel in great location with amenities close by Staff were exceptional on all levels, especially Dion who was so helpful and professional Bed was extremely comfortable, the room and bathroom were bother very clean with everything you need The food was exceptional
Maybe some money spent on the rooms, fresh carpets and some tiles were loose on the bathroom floor but very minor issues in comparison to everything else that the hotel has to offer

It was a very good stay - even though we were there for just one night. It's not the most central location, but the sat-nav took us there with no trouble. Plenty of well-marked parking spaces. Rather a tight stairway to our comfortable roomy first-floor bedroom with a lovely bathroom. The evening meal was quite pleasant. My wife's lasagne and my 'smothered chicken' could have done with less time under the grill, as both had burned onto the side of their dishes, but that's being a bit picky. And what a super breakfast. Top quality ingredients beautifully presented and so tasty. The staff couldn't have been nicer - extremely friendly and helpful. Our poodle was made very welcome, too! We'd certainly go back when we're next in the area.
Nothing to complain about, really. Location in a housing estate a long way from the town centre didn't seem to deter the walkers and cyclists who we met at breakfast. A longish walk to an open area to give the dog a run. Could have done with some 'what to do in Honiton' info in the bedroom alongside the hotel rules folder. A few small points that could improve an already very good hotel
