The location is great, staff were all friendly, room was clean. Was able to check in early because my room happened to be ready (I was going to use their luggage storage if not)

The bed placement in the solo rooms meant that I (195cm tall) couldn’t lie completely straight - it was easy to temporarily roll the bed out though.

Front desk staff are brilliant. Marco helped us get a larger room and nothing was a bother for him. Beautiful, quaint rooms with lovely ambience.

No elevator, a problem for some but as I was travelling with my son he had the job of bringing all the bags upstairs. The showers are very small but good water pressure.

Perfect location just steps away from Paddington train station. When we got to the hotel we were early to drop off the bags but fabulously our room was ready and waiting and could check in early. Staff were polite and very helpful indeed which makes the stay that little bit better. Breakfast was just enough and quickly served on arrival again lovely staff who are quick to accommodate with any needs.It was a simple family room that was clean and tidy for us to rest our heads after a long day in London.

Staff were excellent, and very accommodating and helpful.Location was great close to all types of transport. Room was warm and nice and clean with fresh towels every day. Breakfasts were excellent and varied, with choice of 2 cereals, fried breakfast, tea,coffee, fruit juices and fresh fruit, additional amounts of toast if required. staff were all very attentive, clearing courses and asking requirements for full satisfaction 👌👍 Room tea making contents, replenished every day and clean fresh towels. Also nice hot water in bathroom for washing and showers.

There's not much to dislike. But some bedroom fixtures loose, like lights over the bed, and towel rail in ensuite and toilet roll holder loose on the walls. Would have been nice to have something to put clothes on in the room once you have taken them off, other than the one chair, or the bottom of the wardrobe, as there was no shelf in one side of the cabinet beside the bed. Would have also been nice to have runny eggs for breakfast instead of hard fried eggs every day. But these are only little things I noticed and certainly didn't spoil our stay.

The location is excellent, so close to Paddington Station. The hotel and its facilities are typical for that style of accommodation, so small bedroom and bathroom which we expected.. Breakfast choice was limited but adequate. Staff very efficient and happy to assist. The man at Reception very kindly lent us his umbrella when we went out as we had none.

Provisions in the room weren't renewed each day. Biscuits on day one, but not after that. Tea supply similar, and one small cake of soap on day one that had almost disintegrated by day three. A more generous supply would have been appreciated.

Clean, convenient location for Paddington station, friendly staff. Decent breakfast included, other similar hotels didn't have breakfast for same price.

Decor was getting a bit tired but can't really complain for the money.

Communication with the hotel was good. The front of house staffer Flavio was very helpful and friendly. The location was excellent, as it was just a short walk to the Paddington Station. My single room was number 12 - perfectly adequate for a night's stay - the bed was comfortable and the attached shower room was clean. The hotel reassured me that the bed bugs situation was dealt with in 2019 and that many other hotels in London also had similar outbreaks. I checked my bed thoroughly and it was clean and had fresh linen. I had a very good night's sleep.

As my room was facing the road, vehicle noises were pronounced however not intrusive to disrupt my sleep. I guess double glazed windows might be the solution. Even though the toilet and shower areas were spotless, I noticed that the extractor fan cover had not been cleaned for a while. Also, the angle of the toilet seat was set to lean slightly forward, which meant that it would bang down hard on to the toilet rim. Just two minor irritants in what was otherwise an excellent stay.

Perfect location of the hotel - really close to the metro/train station, super kind personal on the reception or in the breakfast room The best was that they had our rooms ready earlier than they were supposted to. So we did not have to leave our luggage on the reception.

This accomodation is not suitable for elderly people. Our room was on the 4th floor, there were so many stairs and the staircase is really narrow. It’s an old building so there is no elevator. The kettle wasn’t working well and there was already some water in it. Breakfast was sometimes too oily.

The location was great. It felt safe and clean. There wasn't a lot of traffic, it actually felt quite peaceful. The hotel was easy to find and was within easy walking distance from Paddington station. The hotel was clean and functional, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

The carpets, decorating, and bathroom were a little old-fashioned, but they were perfectly clean and functional. We stayed over the road from where we checked in and out and had our breakfast in the morning. The breakfast was alright, with toast ,bacon eggs, and beans brought out very quickly. Again, this was perfectly functional, but I wouldn't compare it to what you would get in a premier inn. The beds were 80% comfortable, and my main complaint would be about the curtain hook situated right behind my head if I wanted to sit up in bed and watch the TV . (Lucky I didn't have a screwdriver handy!) Generally, everything was fine. However, if you are used to staying in a premier inn or similar. This is just a notch below in nearly every way.

Friendly & helpful staff, clean rooms and smoke detectors in good working order - I'd rather have the alarm raised at 5 in the morning than burning to toast in my bed :-)

Reception and dining room in the other Balmoral Hotel across the road - might merit mentioning this fact in the hotel info on the internet so guests arriving know where to check in straight away and don't have to trundle along the street twice with all their heavy luggage
