Lovely big old pub, directly opposite Waterloo station (exit 2 Waterloo road) perfect for night out, access to underground etc. breakfast was lovely. Staff really friendly. Our room was clean, nice shower, and they provide nice range of tea/coffee etc. Easy access with keycard when the pub is shut and you get back very late! You get a discount at the pub too if you are a staying guest. Will stay there again when out in London/concerts etc.

Bring ear plugs (although the hotel provides some in your room they are the basic ones!) as the trains do make noise coming into the station from about 5am! ;)

Best breakfast I've had on a hotel stay in England. Also the paintings on the ceiling in the breakfast room of the battle at Waterloo were mesmerising Comfy bed, nice toiletries, towels and sheets. Bar fridge with free beers, Pepsi, soda waters. Good coffee and herbal teas in the room. Nice hot shower. Double glazed windows. Can't hear trains at night. Location fabulous. Near London eye and Waterloo train station.

Lots of stairs. Not easy carrying suitcases up but Charles, a lovely member of staff carried my case up for me. Small room but fine for sleeping, showering, resting on the bed

Staff was great - the nicest girl helped me find krispy kream donuts 😄😁 The manager has the most sweet helper Archie 😍 Archie is the best of best, so welcoming to the guests and always sweet and kind 🐶 The drinks in the bedroom fridge are free of charge, and have all the necessary to make a tea or coffee in the bedroom, its great for a litle break . Location Location Location the best , close to borougth market - one minute from waterloo station and all the subways and buses. The bed is soft and CONFY so so CONFY 😴😪 I hade the best sleep, pillows you have two to choose, hard big or more soft and small - just choose at according to your preference. The bedroom even beeing so close to a main street and subway is very quiet, didnt have any noises disturbing my sleep, not even from the PUB downstairs, tottaly quiet and silence. PUB downstairs - great service, great drinks, very kind staff they even made mockatails for me and my friend - thank you to the young gentleman 😁 Great breakfast to start the day 😊 ☀️ Missing cutie Archie 😍

The bedrooms are not knew, the needed a extra attention to details but not important with so so many great things

Beautiful building with lots of history! My room was amazing and so was the view from my window! Staff were exceptional. Food was superb, right by an underground station so connected all over London. It’s only a short walk to Westminster too so a massive bonus! Loved watching the trains 🙂 miss the place already!! Thank you so much for my stay I had the best time!! Real value for money! Even when the pub was really busy at night I couldn’t hear it once I got to my room!

No lift so had to climb a lot of stairs as I was on too floor however I’d have same room again

The location opposite Waterloo station is perfect for the national theatre which is why we were in London. The staff were friendly. I was concerned about noise from the busy pub below, but didn't hear a thing once through into the hotel section. The room was modern and comfortable with excellent tea and coffee options and a mini bar. The bathroom had a rainfall shower and complimentary toiletries. There were multiple breakfast options included in the price and the full English that we had was lovely. Hotel guests also enjoy a discount in the pub on showing your room key which is a nice gesture.

It is an old building and the staircase to the rooms is narrow and winding, which could present a problem with larger bags or cases. The windows are single glazed but have secondary glazing installed which does a remarkable job of keeping the street noise out, however if you want to sleep with the window open, be mindful that it is situated on a busy road next to a large railway hub. I'd recommend ear plugs for those who aren't used to city noise.

The location between the Wellington Hotel and the Waterloo station was incredible. I was able to walk out the door, cross the street, and in about 2 minutes, be in the station. The hotel was also in a good location. Just a short 15 minute walk to central London, with beautiful sites to see on the way. The staff was awesome! Greeted you as soon as you walked in. The breakfast was a nice added bonus! The single bed room was perfect for my needs, with complimentary goodies on the table and in the fridge. The bathroom was a great size as well. Shower with soap and shampoo/conditioner dispensers on the wall. Will definitely book a room here again!

The staff here were all exceptional - so helpful, kind, polite and genuinely wonderful human beings - from the bar/reception staff to the cleaners. Their kindness and friendliness made it such a pleasant stay. Despite the train noises in the background that is audible from the room it actually wasn’t that loud - once the window is closed and with the use of earplugs (they even provided a foam pair in the room) I slept soundly both nights. Breakfast was great and the staff there were also amazing; I had an allergy and explained to the chef who very kindly made an alternative for me. I had a single room; it was cosy and comfortable and reasonably clean (a few hairs in the shower was all I noticed but nothing serious to complain about). There were some drinks in the mini fridge I thought were for purchase but when I checked with a staff member they mentioned those were actually complimentary which is a nice touch! The side entrance accessible with key card was very useful and made getting in and out fast and pleasant as you don’t have to go through the bar again once checked in.

Checking in was a bit confusing as I arrived in the evening and the reception desk is basically an extension of the bar, and everyone was queuing to order drinks, but after a short wait I was able to get the attention of a staff member and they checked me in right away

Location. A stone's throw to the South Bank. Across the street from Waterloo underground/train station. It could not be more perfectly located if it tried. Friendly, if tried and overworked/seen-it-all staff, my heart goes out to them. Beautiful breakfast included, very good bed and linen, comfortable bed, spacious and comfortable room with all you need. Flexibility. Accepting a one-night booking on a Saturday, in Central Central London, on one day's notice, at a reasonable price. It takes some doing. I just hope that the small business persists and survives the times.

What could have been better? I don't know, I could come up with a laundry list of grievances - how is it that on my only day for ages in London, there is a bad storm? The paintwork was chipped, and whoever played football that evening on TV showing downstairs, didn't win! Please. The basics (and plentiful extras) were covered expertly, I am very grateful for a comfortable bed and a friendly smile. Thank you so much.

We stayed at the Wellington for a few days before our wedding with our wedding party before heading up to the estate - I accidentally cancelled my mother in law and sister in laws booking due to a mix up in my booking.com profile, when we learned of it the manager, Chris, jumped in to action and got them booked in to their sister hotel nearby for a discounted rate. Chris also helped us carry our bags up to it flights of stairs and allowed our few wedding party guests that weren’t staying at the Wellington with us to still come and join us for breakfast. The hotel is right across from the Wellington train station which was super convenient. Overall we had a fantastic stay at the Wellington, mainly due to the staff

There’s no lift, not really the hotels issue as it’s an old building but just something to be aware of, if you have mobility issues or a lot of luggage I would request a lower floor room

The breakfast was great! Central location, close to train and subway stations. There was a fridge, tea and coffee, water provided every day, and toiletteries. Clean, although tiny room. Living above a pub during the European football championship was very convenient to watch it, great vibes. Our room had no noise problems- we heard the trains outside which we got used to immediately and afterwards it was even a soothing sound! No sounds from the street or pub, but i guess our room was facing the other way. Earplugs were not needed.

It was hot during a heatwave, although there is a small fan that helped out with that. The room is tiny! Also there was no remote for the TV, but we downloaded an app and used that.
