There was everything to love and nothing to dislike from start to finish during my stay. I have one main issue since a double booking was made on booking.com/ Klarna which was highlighted on arrival at The Orchard Hotel. The very helpful hotel staff asked how much I had paid £346 or £390. I answered their question and they said they would cancel the accidental reservation for the same type of room, same number of guests and over the same weekend and I would not be charged. I paid for my reservation in full when I reserved it with booking.com Unfortunately Klarna is continuing to hound me for £346 + late charges. I tried to address the issue of the system crashing before I received a confirmation email and had to apply a second time. They said they would investigate but they have now closed a case which has not been resolved. Please could you send me confirmation that two bookings were made with booking.com as I only received one confirmation email. I do not need to pay again.

We have stayed at this hotel before. It is well placed for our needs when visiting Nottingham. The staff are always friendly and very helpful. The rooms are a good size. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was very nice although the menu was different to the one we had viewed online when booking. The communication from the hotel prior to arriving was very good. One of our party has Coeliac disease and the staff are always very helpful when catering for this.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of work going on at the hotel at the moment, which we had been forewarned of. This meant that breakfast was absolute pandemonium due to the reduced area for dining and the number of people trying to eat. The breakfast itself was very nice.

Lovely hotel, perfect for touring the campus, which was the purpose of our trip. Especially loved as a hotel guest we could have free use of the university gym facilities a 3-min walk away. One of the staff was very helpful and changed our room allocation after I'd seen our first room had a view into the lobby entrance. Our 2nd room was far more pleasant, well lit and with a view into the courtyard garden. Having free parking for as long as we were guests was also extremely convenient.

I wish we had known that the hotel is currently undergoing a big renovation in the common areas. We didn't get the chance to benefit from the common spaces because of the racket from the construction. I'm sure during times when work isn't ongoing it's as lovely as the photos suggest.

Breakfast was very good.👍 One room 1001 was in another building. Difficult to find in the dark after a 5 hour journey … no lift and cold… but the water was good pressure and hot…the sink plug needs attention as it doesn’t work! The other room 344 was warm, however the water pressure was dismal… made showering and hair washing a very long job… also they were small stains on the duvet cover… nothing worth mentioning at the time… but since you requested feedback . All the staff that we encountered were very helpful and pleasant . We chose the Orchard as we have stayed there on 5 previous occasions and expect to stay in the future as we are parents of hockey players. Many thanks and I would mention that under the circumstances of your refurbishment the arrangements were excellent. You have excellent staff with great positive attitudes.

10 out of 10 for every member of staff we encountered! Booking in was helpful and even gave us a choice of what floor we preferred. We asked for as quiet a floor as possible as lately we had some really bad experiences with other unthoughtful guests in other hotels, so she put us on the top floor right at the end which had lovely park views 😀 the room was spotless and very comfortable. Our iron wasn't working properly, so another one was brought us in no time to replace it. We meet a family member for dinner in the hotel restaurant, and wow! Fantastic service, drinks & stunning food. (Definitely try a pudding! )And when the bill came, it didn't make us want to cry! 😆 We went out to a concert and came back to have a few drinks in the bar. Lovely atmosphere. There's a bit of work on a new bar area at the moment, so the temporary bar was a little overwhelmed, but cocktail orders always hold things up, I think. We slept like babies! Not a sound of drunk guests coming back or slamming doors to be heard all night! Paid for breakfast and was joined by a friend for that. Buffet breakfast was really good, lots of choice and items replaced fast. I'm originally from Nottingham, so come down to see family and friends, so I will definitely be visiting this lovely hotel again.. and free parking! Is a bonus! We were initially given a room right at the lift doors, which was completly unneseccary as other rooms were available. We were changed over without fuss which was good. The breakfast rooms was incredibly busy but on the positive side the food turn over was quick as well. Good location if you need to be on university campus or have a car to get around. Rooms clean & quiet.

It cost GBP7 to charge our hybrid car. Incredibly expensive! We queued for almost 10minutes to get into breakfast because the queue to sit down was also the queue for hot food. A bit annoying when you don't want hot food initially. Dreadful coffee at breakfast. Woeful.

The location of the hotel was ideal because we had come up to see our son who was at the university! I was pleasantly surprised by the look of the hotel inside and out. Very bright,modern, and clean.

Came down to breakfast on the Sunday morning to chaos!!! You just gave them your room number, and that was it. No explaining if where anything was,seeing that we were new to the hotel! Struggled to find a table. Very busy where you got your food and the noise was incredible. Got up early for breakfast today, and it was a totally different atmosphere. I expect the hotel didn't have many guests staying over on a Sunday.

Friendly welcome on arrival. Good air quality in the room, and being able to open the windows was perfect. I ate in my room, using room service, which worked well for me. The (enormous!) bed was really comfortable. Usually I don't sleep well in new places, where I'm only staying for one night, but I had a great nights sleep. We partly selected The Orchard due to the eco credentials, and it fitting well with our environment policy.

I realise it's capacity/ resource to not offer room service for breakfast, but I would have liked to have had that option. I was only able to bring fruit and pastries back to my room.

The hotel’s appearance, despite the ongoing improvement works that are underway, was superb. The hotel staff were fantastic. The front reception employee was very welcoming. Matthew, bar manager(?) was welcoming, supportive and very communicative. The waiting on staff at Friday dinner were efficient, polite, helpful and provided excellent service. The room, a superior double, was wonderful. Superb decoration. A lovely bathroom. Breakfast on the Saturday morning was excellent. A wide range of food and drink to choose from. The staff were organised, diligent and polite. Lots to like and recommend.

The improvement works are an inconvenience, but no more than that. Some of the seating in the current lounge / bar area is a little passed its best.

Another lovely stay. Good sized room with comfy bed. Lovely shower room. Great staff. Dinner was execptional. Quiet overnight even when clearly very busy. Love the availability of free still and sparkling water. Like the security aspect of needing key card to use lifts.

Surprised university students were allowed to park in the hotel on the Monday. We went out for the morning. When we came back at lunchtime, we would not have been able to park had it not been for my blue badge. Be aware, some evenings the menu is restricted. This includes items advertised as available 24 hours a day e.g. sandwiches.
