I liked the cleanliness, the service, and the friendliness of the staff. The breakfast was very good.

I liked everything, but what I didn’t like was the construction work. However, I believe that’s only temporary.

One can tell that the hotel is well-maintained. Love that the lobby is spacious and light-filled, very welcoming. Upon arriving on a Friday afternoon the hotel was quite busy. But come Sunday it was more peaceful. It's great that it is located within the university campus grounds so I had some nice walks in the area and Highfields Park. I love that dogs are welcome! Had Sunday night dinner at Bramley's- the food was excellent.

The wifi could've been better in the bedroom. It kept cutting out/ dropping one too many times.

Food was excellent. Facilities spotless. We were given a complimentary room upgrade (not sure why). Room was spacious and comfortable, but see below.

In the bathroom the plug in the sink did not retain the water in the bowl. The water drain in the shower was at the opposite end to the shower head. Never seen that before. The floor must be faulty because there was always a large amount of water left on the shower floor at the end. Not nice having to get into a shower with cold water sloshing around. The downloaded hotel guide says that breakfast is till 9.30 M-F, but the room card holder and the reception said it is till 10.00. Confusing.

We stayed 4 nights (most reviewers stayed 1). Beautiful, freshly renovated lobby and restaurant. Really great food and rooms. Very clean hotel, nice location. Quiet surroundings in the university campus area. Lots of secure and free parking. Kirsty at the reception is amazing. Ask for her if you need help with anything.

The employees at breakfast are quite unfriendly and not helpful at all. They would need better management. Except Tan who was kind and friendly.

Clean and modern with a friendly, sociable atmosphere. We enjoyed an overnight stay including dinner and breakfast on our way back to Hampshire from Lindisfarne. Easy to find and good on-site parking facility.. Large comfortable room with good facilities, including tea, biscuits etc. The food for the evening meal was excellent. Beautiful presentation as well as delicious! Theo served us very well. Breakfast was a mixed bag, I enjoyed the‘healthy’ options available.

Aircon at dinner was a bit brrrr. The cooked buffet was expensive, so a bit disappointing for my husband, bacon, sausage and eggs a bit dried up under the warming lamps. However the chef did cook him some delicious poached eggs. The bathroom in room 206 had a couple of issues which we informed reception about, so hopefully they’re sorted out now.

Staff here is super friendly and welcoming, the rooms are spacious and look very nice, bathroom is modern and super clean, the bar is nice to sit and have a beer, there's ample parking, and breakfast was a lot, and it was good.

I'm going to be nitpicking here, because this was a great stay, but I like it more when breakfast is included in the price (it wasn't cheap). And as expected of a hotel, the scrambled eggs just came out of a box and weren't fresh. Lastly, there were a couple of groups there, later at night, that were VERY loud, but I understand this can happen. As I said: nitpicking. This was a great stay.

Free car parking in ideal location for our visit. The breakfast buffet was good but could have had more choice when compared to other hotels of the same standard. We do not eat white processed bread and I had to ask three members of staff before they finally found some rye bread in the kitchen. Not good enough.

Our washbasin was blocked from the previous guests and didn't allow water to drain freely. This should have been cleaned and disinfected before our arrival and is also unhygenic. The dinner offer was exceedingly expensive for miniscule portions and certainly not value for money. See comments on breakfast above.

The rooms are clean and bright. There are coffee making facilities. Staff are wonderful on the desk. I love the spaces to sit and chat with colleagues in the main hotel. My room had a lovely big screen TV, handy after finishing my work for the day. The location is great, not far to the nearest bus stop or tram stops. There is a lovely walk through the apple orchard out behind the hotel too. The bed is so comfortable and a decent size. The shower is powerful and a good size ensuite.

Everything was brilliant. I just wish I'd had time to stay for the breakfast - which is always so tasty. I had to dash off to a conference.

We stayed in the Hugh Stewart House. We enjoyed the quiet ambience of this small 4 bedroom block. We were looking for quiet as it was graduation weekend and a youngsters hockey tournament so we knew main hotel might be noisy. We were pleased we chose this option. We went for breakfast at main hotel as it offers more, we didn’t want the continental offering in this building. You just turn up to main hotel and give your room number and breakfast there is good. We enjoyed our very spacious room with nice seating area, with older ornate decor rather than the modern feel of the main hotel. The bathroom in our room was huge! We enjoyed the free water and sparking water soft drinks and crisps. Our room was big enough to have family over for pre dinner celebration fizz, with sofa chairs table.

A bit of work doing maybe but we were happy with it, it didn’t bother us but if you like everything perfect then it may.

This Hotel was great! Staff were very professional & efficient. Bedroom was very well equipped with a very comfortable, large bed. Walk in shower & toiletries were really good. Lots included in the room - Nespresso Coffee Machine, Kettle, Biscuits, Bottles of water. Large wardrobe with plenty of hanging space & drawers, Security Safe, Towelling Robes & Slippers, Ironing Board & Iron. Food in the restaurant was lovely & so was the plentiful buffet breakfast. Very nice Bar Area with plenty of seating/tables including some booth seats/tables with plug sockets. Free Parking with plenty of space was very good, with quick walking access to the front of the hotel.

Nothing at all
