After a long long search for our 2 weeks stay in June I found this Gem. It's got everything, a warm welcome comfy, clean rooms with a sea view. A restaurant, a bar huge outside space. An indoor and outdoor pool and a gym. Breakfast got everything you need from cooked to continental and I can't stress it enough such lovely and attentive staff. We stayed here for 2 weeks as a base for daily trips and it's been perfect.

We slept with the balcony door tilted because it doesn't have a ventilator, which might be an issue on hotter days. In June that solution was perfect since you'll hear the calming sea with the window open.

We stayed in twin room on the first floor. the upper floors do have a lift. We had a sea view which looks just over the garden and then the beach. we watched the tide come in/out over the beach. Good size bathroom with bath/shower. very clean, fresh towels when requested. Heated towel rail. Comfy sleep quality. plenty of storage. coffee/tea fridge. The dining room has a wonderful sea view looking over to Torquay. Plenty of choice both for diner and breakfast. all is freshly cooked to order. Staff are so friendly and very obliging. There is lots of seating around the bar area plus outside. Great swimming pool/hot tub etc. both indoor and out. Great position close to all Paignton has to offer.

My only disappointment is the lack of a ramp to enter the hotel as it has steps. but there is plenty of free parking plus disabled. I am sure the staff would have helped if asked.

It is set in a stunning location with the dining room overlooking the sea, the bar has access to the patio area to enjoy the beautiful views. It has an old world charm, and although some areas would benefit from an upgrade, this doesn’t detract from the overall ambiance. Our room was quite stylish, and had a small balcony. The evening meals were excellent - although very filling!

No biscuits were provided on the hospitality tray - this is the first hotel we have ever stayed in which didn’t provide them. After a long journey these would have been a very welcome addition. An earlier time for dinner would also be very much appreciated by elderly residents like ourselves who like to retire early. A starting time of 6.30 is late when we normally dine at 5 - 5.30.

the location of the hotel is wonderful, right on the ocean. our room had a view of the ocean. the sound of the waves in the morning is just wonderful. the food and menu are very tasty, especially the delicious dinner. the reception staff and in the restaurant especially attentive and polite. All the staff is responsive, always smiling. We are from Ukraine and know the value of life..... people be grateful for every day. Look only for the positive....Thank you very much to all the hotel staff for your care and attention. Thank you very much to all the waiters! Thank you to the administrator! We will definitely come back to you! See you soon!

Don't look for the bad, enjoy every day!

Our room was a top floor suite overlooking the pier, wonderful. The location was fabulous and the complimentary parking such an asset in overcrowded Paignton. We expected an old type "Britannia" style hotel but although it is old it was superior to that style of hotel. Breakfast was fine and freshly cooked to order in the spacious room overlooking the sea.

The hotel was showing it's age but plans were on going for a big renovation which I believe started shortly after our stay. The grounds were fabulous but they were again very tired with the outdoor swimming pool being used as a seagull homestay and furniture being left to stagnate in the sea breeze. Hopefully the full potential of the place will be fulfilled after the refurbishment. The indoor pool was ok but the sauna wasn't working.

Stunning location. I had a seaview room with a little balcony, and it was so nice to sit out there. The staff were super helpful and friendly. There is an indoor pool with a hot tub and steam room as well as a lovely outdoor pool. It took minutes to get to the beach.

Only a few minor niggles stopped me from giving full marks. For example, on a few occasions, the outdoor pool was closed as there was no lifeguard available. On one day, housekeeping asked if I needed more coffee and milk, I said no thanks but then when I returned to my room later they had taken that to mean I didn't want them to supply clean cups, spoons etc. Nothing major but minor inconveniences

The hotel is traditional and welcoming. Free parking is a bonus as is the waterfront location by the beach. The breakfasts and bar meals were good and the staff were friendly and polite.

We have stayed at The Redcliffe regularly in the last couple of years and always ask for the same double room. It suits us because it is large with plenty of space for clothes with a nice bathroom. On this trip there was a heatwave and we did find the room very hot even with the window open continuously. The duvet was a winter weight so we removed it and just slept under the duvet cover. We did mention it to the receptionist, however, they were busy so I don’t think a different room was possible. We were only there for three nights anyway. We will maybe choose a different one next time. Although it isn’t usually such a hot time of year when we visit.

Abit like walking back in time decorated is dated how ever everywhere was clean . We had a budget room which suited us as didn’t expect to be in it long as out and about.Disappointed there was no view window opened to a roof area. Bathroom 👍nice towels. TV small but adequate. Kettle with top ups of milk /TC supplied each day. Hairdryer needed updating as only worked for a minute kept over heating . Bed comfy I requested an extra pillow which was provided straight away. Indoor pool jacuzzi and steam room great at no extra charge. Breakfast really nice freshly cooked great service and a bonus that you can look out to sea. Bar area and lounges . Found all staff really helpful customer service great . Plenty of car parking spaces (great free parking included ). Location good right in the beach and with in easy walking in to Paignton town.

Hair dryer needs replacing

The hotel is just a little walk along the beach to the main street that has plenty of bars/cafes etc if you don’t want to stay in the hotel There were plenty of seating and loungers on the patio and access to the beach - ask about the secret door leading directly to the beach 🤭 Their pool is a nice size with seating for relaxing and shower facilities Dog friendly, although we left ours at home this time, he will visit with us on our next trip All the staff were very helpful

Thin cotton/fleece throws for the beds would have been helpful as it was a very warm weekend and the only other spare blankets found in the wardrobe were wool and too heavy/hot.

We had an excellent stay at The Redcliffe Hotel. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We ate at the hotel lunchtime and had an evening meal (food from the bar menu), we couldn’t fault this. Breakfast was adequate in a lovely dining hall overlooking the sea. We stayed with a large group of friends and found the hotel great value for money. Although a large building, in need of some updating, which apparently is starting in October. The location is ideal, a 10/15 minute walk to the main town but far enough away from all the bars and noise. The beach is just outside the building. We didn’t use the pools (indoor or out) so cannot comment on these facilities. We would definitely stay again.

Needs updating but wouldn’t put us off staying again.
