Bar staff were amazing. I wish I got they names but there was on man with long hair in ponytail he made us so welcome, he couldn't do enough for us. There was also one in the evening that was brilliant again didn't get his name. Breakfast was just OK, beans were super sweet put us off everything else. But lots of choice. Place was clean enough a little dated in places but still value for money.

Nothing we didn't like just couldn't get shower to work. I think pages should add the pool is closed

This is the correct review - I made an error on an earlier one - staff and location are both fabulous and deserve a very smiley face :-) NOT a sad face. The staff and the location make this a great place to stay. All of the staff were warm, friendly, helpful, kind and efficient. The hotel is in the process of being updated so be patient. The bed was comfy, and the room has everything you need. There is plenty of parking at the hotel. They are dog friendly too. It is right next to the sea, so it is an excellent location for beach walking. There are also lovely places to eat and drink nearby. Book a stay. It is a good place to chill out and enjoy Wales.

Beer prices expensive used to be reasonable .Very cold in bar area main heating not on only small inadequate electric heaters. Had to fetch coats as Too cold for comfort told barman we were cold and he said there was no heating or air-conditioning in working order. Bar very quiet no atmosphere not like when we have stayed previously .Restaurant not open food only served in bar area so we went elsewhere. On previous visits always had meals here good quality and value. Charged more for room by hotel than on final invoice that we had from booking .com Hotel did not appear to have received final amended invoice that we had from booking .com . I did produce this to them as proof they could only use the invoice that they had .

Best Western Aberavon Hotel was amazing, although the exterior is a bit dated the interior was beautiful, absolutely stunning. A multi faceted diamond located opposite the beach. The included breakfast was wide in variety of dishes from cereal, fresh fruit, pastries, and of course a well prepared cooked breakfast. My compliments to the chef. Staff were professional and well presented, eager and willing to help. Friendly and approachable. Room was spotless and well kitted out with a TV, internet, fan, tea, coffee and plenty of storage for clothes. Plenty of plug sockets too. I must say that this hotel stands far superior to others in the area and they were brilliant. I rebooked as soon as I got home for next month. Local shops including a cinema, Spar etc and nearby restaurants and Cafe’s. The whole experience was brilliant and the manager is a lovely man seen welcoming guests and making sure everyone was happy. The staff and their friendly approachable demeanour is the best I have ever experienced. The interiors stunning and so clean and welcoming. Brilliant stay and highly recommended. My partner was so pleasantly shocked. Well done.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with my stay at all. I explained I am disabled and it was catered for. Health and safety sheet on arrival to ensure that all of my needs were met every second I was there which I have never encountered before so it was lovely.

The hotel is unassuming (I am being polite here) on the outside. The inside, however, is much better. The reception area has clearly been refurbished. It's spacious and welcoming. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was in good order, clean and bigger than we expected. Surprisingly, there were two chairs in our double room. It is highly unusual to be able to both sit on a chair! They were comfortable too. We were lucky to be given a room with a view of the beach, which is literally across the road. Location couldn't be better. Online check-in worked a treat, so getting the room key at reception was easy and quick.

The pillows are like blocks of concrete. As in most hotels: 1 pillow is too low, 2 pillows is too high. Different weights of pillows might help here. We also couldn't find a way to cool the room down (no controls for A/C that we could see). Opening the window simply didn't do the trick.

We had an event to attend here at the hotel.. After reading the reviews we weren't expecting an enjoyable stay.. But I was very impressed with the overall cleanliness here.. The quality of bed & bedding were a complete surprise 😊 Even though weather was warm I slept really soundly, I brought a fan with me & the hotel provided one in my room.. big plus too were that our windows opened a decent amount for air 2 circulate, if needed with stuffy weather.. Don't be put off by the hotel's dated exterior, interior is well-looked after (even though I DID think our 3rd floor corridor gave me 'The Shining' vibes 🤭) Great location 4 Port Talbot beachfront & it's pet friendly 🐾 I may return with my dogs in September if the price is right 🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺

Found the soft drinks (syrup style) too expensive 4 guests, really should consider discounting those 2 encourage hydration ☺️

Sea view. Reception staff and Reception area. Breakfast room a bit small and only one chair bye table Parking on site. The lady with the glasses was welcoming and very good at the job she was doing at breakfast service.

Young ladies on breakfast not particularly pleasant or on top of restocking products or clearing tables. The slightly down side to room 209 the noise from the wind blowing through the gaps in the door frame. Exterior looks dirty with windows looking like the could do with being renewed.

Loved the staff they were helpful polite and always hardworking . Their teamwork was excellent . We Liked the location I attended hospital for cancer treatment so the location was perfect for us . Have booked again to attend hospital again . This decision was made because of the wonderful service the staff provide nothing was too much trouble . The views are great however the windows need an upgrade . The hotel suited our needs . Hope they can upgrade it at some point ...??.

The building does not reflect the service you get within . The structural appearance is poor. The interior and exterior needs upgrading the standard of decoration is poor as painting over wallpaper that needs replacing is of a poor standard .and is not acceptable really .. This does not mean the standard of painting is poor its the standard of works to be done is poor . The running water in bathroom took too long to get hot 🔥.. There should be a choice of walk in showers in bathrooms. Lovely breakfasts white tablecloths star attentive at all times . Needs massive financial input for refurbishment ..

Outside doesn't do it justice and the room and restaurant were far too hot (heating was on full blast) which made us feel a little sick - really need air conditioning Need bed guards for bedding which little children sleep in. My daughter slid out of the bed head first into the small gap between the bed and the wall and burned herself on the boiling hot radiator pipe running along the wall. Pipes need boxing in.

They dont service rooms any more . You only give minimum supplies of coffee and toiletries on arrival,and you have to go to reception to ask for supplies eg toilet roll.give more supplies of basics in the room. Very little hot water. We miss the leisure club. They would not let us leave our cases,on day of departure for a bit ,as they had no storage space
