Location was great, hotel and rooms were clean, food was nice.
The evening meals were disorganised, wrong food to wrong tables, forgetting meals, but the quality was lovely. Breakfast was great first morning, second morning the staff were brilliant but needed more hands, impractical customer to staff ratio. Again food great, but other customers were greedy, piling plates high with food, just to waste it anyway. Absolutely no need. But staff need support on running a restaurant - table plan so they know where theyre going, being shown or told what a dish is prior to selling or serving it. 3 times the kitchen sent out chicken gyozas to tables that ordered chicken goujons... All meant constructively. Overall would stay again.

Staff lovely & really helpful. Breakfast very good with lots of choice but disliked the marmalade/ honey dispensers- may be more economical for you but difficult for some guests to use. I walk with a crutch & so balancing a plate whilst trying to get some marmalade wasn't easy! Accessible room was pretty good but some small issues- see below.
Accessible room 86 where I stayed.had a couple of issues eg. Could have done with a higher chair to sit on rather than just the bed or put you up settee which was quite low. In the bathroom the support swing down bar in the shower ( to the right side as you enter) was loose at its fixing point so didn't feel safe to use it. The position of the toilet roll holder was fixed too far back on the wall & couldn't be comfortably reached. Apart from that the room was great- thank you.

Overall everything was as it should be. The friendly staff. Smooth check in. Ample parking at very reasonable cost. Welcoming for pets and the little gift bag for them on arrival. Any requests were meet with a very prompt response. Dinner was very good but there was a lack of vegetarian choices. Breakfast was very nice not the usual overcooked or cold food. Good quality.
Thought the accommodation price was somewhat steep. There was chaos at breakfast due to the number of guests all wanting to eat at the same time despite the staff trying their best to cope. Waiting for food and crockery/glasses. Noone knowing which side they should queue for the hot buffet. It was not at all clear that you were supposed to queue from the reception end of the building in order to be seated. Guests using the door from the garden were just sitting down and getting their food whilst others were still queuing. The costs of the drinks were what you would expect to pay in London.

The staff were wonderful. Very helpful when we checked in. The rooms were massive and very clean. We had an adjoining door to our 2 rooms, which was very handy.
The cot provided was a travel cot, which was fine, but very uncomfortable for our 2 year old. The mattress was extremely thin, and you could feel the bars underneath. She slept in the double bed in the end. We had blood on one of the pillows. Clearly washed but hadn't come out. A member of our group was vegetarian. She was put off by the hash browns as they were in the same dish as the sausages. Although a separate compartment, they shared the same container, and the lid went over both. The tongs were also being used for both items.

Room requested looking inwards to the courtyard and therefore was quiet - we did not hear the motorway at all. Large comfortable room with large comfortable bed and very clean bathroom with great lighting. Open reception area with small bar and access to quite large restaurant area. Good range of food available in restaurant (as per menu - although not tried). Breakfast as buffet style with good choices overall and food of more than satisfactory quality.
Disappointing we had to pay for parking (£5 for overnight stay) when the parking area is right outside the hotel. No complaints with the accommodation though.

Good parking. Easy to book in The receptionist with blonde hair exceptional plus young man of Indian so chatty, he was so friendly. Acees to outdoor seating The young waiter did a good job
Some evening meals of poor standard. The lasagne in particular was so runny. We understand they are reheatedvas they are not cooked on premises.. There was a big delay 1 night, waiter had to make all the apologies. Some Bar staff not very friendly, Breakfast cereal area.would have been nicer with some fresh berry as at other Holifay Inn..

The breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from. Lisa is an excellent host, she greeted us every day, very knowledgeable, nothing was too much for her. She ensured we had everything required.
During breakfast one morning there was no milk in the urn, when mentioned to one of the dining services personnel, rather than get the milk herself, she shouted across the dining room and ordered Lisa to fill the milk urn. Lisa was busy attending to a customer at the time. I found this rather rude and that Lisa was not respected for the work she was doing. The other person was not doing anything at the time. A special thank you to Lisa, Ashley and Ali for their support.

We were visiting Portsmouth to be shown around by family members who are moving to the area this year. We needed a handy location to serve as a base for looking around the area from Winchester to Chichester and the hotel was perfect for our needs. I was particularly impressed by the friendly and welcoming staff who really went to great lengths to make our time in the hotel enjoyable.
Some public areas of the hotel are looking a little tired but the room and the breakfast/dining area were fine so I was very happy with our choice.

A big thank you to Lisa who welcomed us on Christmas morning for breakfast. She was wonderful, even remembered us on the following two mornings. She showed us to a table and helped us with the allergen list as I am allergic to milk. Well done Lisa for making us feel so welcome and for giving up Christmas morning with your family so we could spend Christmas with ours. Thank you.
We were not told there would be no housing keeping or where to get extra milk, coffee, etc. We were advised to pay for parking in full on arriving only to discover that on some of the days it was free. Reception staff just say 'not our land' which really is not very helpful.

Breakfast was decent enough for the room price. Everything you expect for a friend breakfast plus it was fresh and hot. Couldn’t find any tea spoons which should be by the hot water machine. Check in and out was easy, parking machine with discount was easy and everything explained well.
Our room wasn’t in a quiet area, as requested, as we were woken by screaming young children, maybe they were in the adjoining room as we had a twin room. Maybe our rooms were suppose to be in the quieter part but those guests were put somewhere incorrect.
