The hotel was situated off s main road ao easy to access and the parking felt safe and secure for our motorbikes. The room was basic and clean. Little dated in parts byt the staff very friendly and the restaurant had a good selection of main meals and the food was spot on 10/10 cheff was friendly and happy to chat to customers staying and eating. Breakfast was £12 for full English with a good continental spread included 😋 would definitely stay there again

Only thing was no plug sockets between the single beds. Just one over by the table. We all love our phones to watch crap on so a plug between the beds would of been alot better.

Plenty of parking and big restaurant/bar area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean, and bed was super comfy, with plenty of storage space (lots of drawers & big wardrobe)

Only SLIGHT downside was that the room felt a bit ‘dated’ and toilet seat in our room needed re-tightening as it was a bit skewed, so could benefit with a slight refresh. The only real downside was the room we were in had an ajoining locked door in the centre wall (I assume so the rooms could be used as a interlinked family room) and unfortunately we were woken up at 6am by clearly hearing the ‘neighbours’ conversations and any slight noise they were making through the door.

Location. Works for us so we go back. And plenty of car parking. Nice bar. Plenty of milk with the teas and coffees. That’s a biggie for me - so many places don’t give enough milk for two or three’s cuppas each!

Inconsistent. Always seems different. This time the aspells cider was off And when we checked out it was like a ghost town. No one in reception, the bar, the restaurant or the function room. In the end I started to knock on the doors marked private and found done people in a room. There ought to be a bell or a phone number on reception to call someone if needed Didn’t really like it that the guy in the next room was lying on the floor of the corridor near our room having shouty phone conversations. I tried to feel compassionate but that’s what I do every day - this was my one night break and I’d rather the staff had tried to help him

Staff were super nice, and it was such a super cool looking building, even the parking was substantial. Our bed room was great aswell especially the comfort of the bed. I haven't been this far into reading before, everything is nearby 😁. It was like walking into history. Very old school feeling. Me and my wife loved it. Thank you for having us

A little bit out dated, such as paint colour of room, maybe a brighter colour would make the rooms and hallway look bigger.

Although it was a 3pm check in they kindly had my room ready by 11am as I drove up from Dorset border for a 13.00 event allowing me to freshen up and change. Room was fine. Clean and tidy. Good shower. No AC though. Only had a small continental breakfast as meeting friends for an early lunch.

Drinks at the bar were very warm. No ice for the white wine and the red was very warm. Not their fault but the person in the room above me spent from 2am -6am going back and forth across his room with shoes on. Kept me awake on and off.

Location is perfect for family visiting Good value Significantly refreshed since our stay in 2024 - looks and smells cleaner Bar was better stocked this time - and reasonably priced Room is very quiet when windows are closed. (If you have to open windows the road noise is loud on road facing room)

Has a deserted feel. Not many guests. The staff are polite and willing but seemed to be waiting for something to happen. It hasn’t been open very long since it was requisitioned for alternative use and I hope it recovers it’s popularity and does well

Great breakfast option Full English, with choice of how eggs were cooked ,good selection of fruit and continental options . I requested fried bread and the chef did it as requested Great service great food

its not a problem but the food was all laid out in buffet style which to me means help your self other than the fried items but it was served to me which is a very nice touch but the layout and the service was a bit strange to me (this in in No way a complaint and hope it not taken that way the waitress was brilliant.

The breakfast was amazing such a wonderful selection. Plenty of it. I was surprised as the lady on the night reception when I booked in told me to be early for breakfast , as it gets picked over and selection depleted!!?? I got in for 8.30. Only person in the restaurant, the staff on duty were wonderful , could not do enough for me. The food was beautifully cooked and great quality. I think you need to promote yourselves more! It is a delightful place people are missing out.

Nothing. Only crossing the busy road to get back to the M4! Nothing you can do about that.

The staff are super friendly and a real credit to the place. If you’re on your honeymoon, forget it but if you just wanna get your head down especially for work I came in at midnight got up had a bit of breakfast and carried on about my business. It was very comfy mattress everything was clean, okay? It’s not like brand-new latest style or anything, but it’s modern enough to do the job if you’re foresee then pay a bit more but for the price it is this is really good and I thought the reviews which nearly put me off were a bit unfair.

Stayed at Calcot Hotel for a weekend getaway and was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a great power shower. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We enjoyed a lovely meal at the restaurant — good variety and decent prices. The free parking and easy access to the M4 made it super convenient. Not a luxury spa retreat, but excellent value for money for a business or short leisure stay. Would happily return.
