I enjoyed the rich history of the property and great setting. Really felt like a luxury stay. I also appreciated the cleanliness and great service throughout. The breakfast was also very lovely and very varied.

If it had to fault a few things it would be the fact that the jacuzzi/hot tub is not complementary and it costs £35pp for just one hour to use. I would have expected this to be inclusive as the price for this hotel is not cheap. For those who like a firm bed, the beds were very soft so not to my liking but again this is personal preference. Otherwise I was very satisfied with 80% of everything !

Gorgeous grounds, quite location and only a 10 minute drive into the town centre. Lovely rooms and surrounding land to explore.

Unfortunately this hotel is incredibly overpriced for what it is, the service from the staff from the moment we arrived to check out was average, there is no spa it’s a 2 person hot tub with sauna, steam and 6 beds to lay on which as you can expect gets very busy. You can pay EXTRA to go outside and use a ‘exclusive’ hot tub which is also overpriced and not worth it. Having stayed at ALOT of hotels in a similar price bracket this does not justify the spend and for that reason I wouldn’t return or recommend.

The staff were very helpful showing us round and giving us the history of the hotel, we loved our room as it overlooked the race course, there was a lovely choice of food and we had everything we needed for a our stay, its a stunning place to stay

My only small complaint is that the younger members of restaurant staff could be informed that at a 5 star hotel I didn't want to be leaned across when my food was served or plates etc collected and there were a couple of occasions of more coffee on the saucer than in the cup! But these are just little things.

Breakfast and dinner were lovely. The staff were also very nice and helpful. Facilities were good and exactly as described. Bed and amenities were comfortable, lovely bathroom!

Cleanliness - our room was not cleaned properly, the bin was emptied and when we returned was still full of nappies, Things had not been tidied. It appears that this was an on-going problem as my 16 month daughter found an old sweet under the TV/fridge unit which looked pretty old. This was concerning as she could have eaten it had we not spotted it in her hands. Suitability of room - note the main house does not have any lifts. We were not informed of this and despite noting on our booking that we have a 1 year old baby with us, we were put on a high floor which would have required us to carry the pram up and down. It took a lot of discussion with the hotel to find an alternative more suitable room, which they did manage to find even though I was initially told they were fully booked.

The stunning exterior and interior of this incredible 14th century building and the stunning grounds. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The dog facilities are outstanding and they all really made our little four legged baby so welcomed and pampered. The hotel offers some really special doggy treats, bed, bowls and even a toy :)

The bedroom was far too hot and they were unable to reduce the temperature of the heating.

Room was comfortable, good size TV screen, refrigerator with complimentary water and fresh milk, safe, excellent wet room for shower etc. Room servicing was good. The room was off a very pleasant garden with a short walk to the main hotel. Good service and menu for breakfast, especially the continental selection. Dinner menu and service was good. All staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel was a grand old house and the lounge and restaurant rooms take you back to those times with wood panelling, grand fireplaces and windows containing stained glass. There were grounds and several charted local walks to explore

The lounge seemed to be reserved for afternoon teas in the afternoons and would have liked it to be generally available and serviced with teas/coffees and drinks.

Breakfast was great although the labels were mixed up for the Greek yoghurt & vegan coconut yoghurt one morning which we didn't realise until the morning after when the labels were corrected and there was no official communication or apology for this. The risk associated with this in terms of allergy let alone impact on people who follow for example vegan diets.

For the size of the hotel the spa seems incredibly small - any more than 6 or 8 people in there and it feels really crowded which is the only disappointing thing about the hotel really.

Food: exquisite, beautifully presented and perfect from start to finish. Room: well laid out, spacious and comfortable. Nice touch to have the large bathroom with tub, separate shower and separate loo. Grounds and facilities: incomparable location overlooking Cheltenham racecourse and below Cleeve hill. A really extraordinary setting. Fabulous outdoor private spa. Lovely beauty suite for treatments. The staff: outstanding. They really made a difference. Thank you so much to everyone.

The property was stunning and so was the location. Loved our room. Staff at breakfast were attentive and welcoming. The young lady who showed us to our room was very lovely.

Unfortunately it appeared they were short staffed in the bar and Horse Box restaurant. The standard service to outside tables and evening service was disappointing. Incorrect food, drink and bill. Staff looked tired.

staff are super nice and gorgeous place but does need maintenance.

Where do I start: 1: Upon arrival after a long journey and since my room wasn't ready, I would expect from a luxury hotel to offer welcome drinks or tea since it was cold. 2; Ordered lunch, and in all honesty, my son can do a better cheese sandwish. 3: When I went to my room, it was freezing, I called 4 times for someone to attend to my request, and they brought in a portable radiator 4: Sink does not drain at all 5: I was told to leave the lounge area as I'm not booked for the afternoon tea.
