Amazing stay from start to finish

Extremely dog-friendly and a great dog agility course on-site. Very comfortable room with every detail considered for a great stay. The afternoon tea was also great and relaxing in the drawing rooms was a very enjoyable way to spend a wet afternoon.

Beautiful inside and out. Perfect Georgian house. Spa and pool was good too. We will definitely return.

Gym a little on the small side but acceptable.

This was our second time staying here and we had a different room which was smaller but a lovely room, bed was comfortable and it was lovely and quiet. Loved the swimming pool and hot tub, unfortunately did not have time to use the gym this time. The breakfast was delicious and had a nice selection.

We had the cosy room which was lovely but unfortunately the bed was a little short and my feet stuck out the bottom, but I tucked my legs up to stop them hanging out and the bed was very comfortable. The light switches in the room were very annoying as instead of one switch there were lots of buttons and we were forever pushing to get lights on and off, ended up just using bed side lamps. Marked down one point on staff as the receptionist when we checked in was not very welcoming found her very cold and abrupt, which was a complete contrast to last time when we arrived, such a shame as all other staff were lovely.

Our overall stay was very good and we were generally very happy with our experience. The grounds are beautiful to stroll around, the spa, pool and lounge areas were just perfect for relaxing and the food was phenomenal, the highlight of our stay!

One downside of our stay was the waiting service was very slow. On our first evening it took 45minutes to get a drink in the outdoor lounge area before our meal. We had a similar wait the next day, however our waiter recognised this and gave us a discount on our bill without us saying anything, so we felt this kind gesture resolved this matter. Our other unfortunate downside was being woken by loud neighbours shouting at 6.30am in the morning, when you are having a break away from young children we had hoped for a bit of a lie in. It did sometimes feel we were sharing the room with them on our stay. Perhaps we were unlucky to get loud guests below or maybe the walls were quite thin.

The staff (especially dinner waiting staff) were phenomenal and couldn’t do more. The grounds were absolutely stunning.

Description states hot tub suite is surrounded by hedges, I’d say that is a stretch for suite 33. Additionally being unable to get late checkout is tedious and not what you expect or desire from a luxury hotel. Finally we came primarily for a massage so to be told the therapist is off sick and there is no contingency and therefore unable to have massages was heartbreaking. Lastly staff really deserve access to facilities as they are truly amazing!

Excellent from the minute we walked in nothing was to much trouble all our requirements were exceeded. Breakfast was excellent from the continental through to the cooked options, The Gymn is great for general fitness needs and having the use of the pool and Hot tubs really helps you to relax, We can't wait to return.

Nothing it was great as last time we came. Only suggestion I can think of is a few walking routes available from the Hotel if you would like to go walking ( But only Routes that have been recommended by the Hotel) and a Digital link so you can download this to your phone etc.

Bishopstrow is the most dog-friendly hotel I have stayed in. The staff are genuinely friendly and accommodating to your pet while maintaining a high level of professionalism. The service delivered in the reception, bar, lounge, and restaurant was fantastic, with outstanding staff quality in my opinion. I highly recommend the suites, which offer a small private outdoor area with a hot tub. Even if you don't stay in a suite, you can still enjoy the spa, indoor and outdoor pools, and relaxing garden areas. All in all, a fantastic hotel that I highly recommend.

Great food, great staff, lovely location. The facial, shoulder and head massage by the wonderful Vicky at the spa was excellent. The indoor pool and hot tubs were great. Emmeris mixed really creative and delicious cocktails at the bar.

Several dogs and not all had considerate owners so the restaurant terrace and garden around the sun loungers was punctuated by a lot of barking during our visit. Dogs are allowed in both bar lounges, but it didn’t cause any issues the evening we were there.
