The pub is located right in the middle of the town, which was ideal for access to shops. restaurants, the harbour and beach. The room was delightful: nicely decorated/furnished, very comfortable, well thought out, clean and in good condition. Very good shower and a nice bright bathroom. The complimentary bottles or water and local beer were a nice touch and much appreciated. There was a good choice of cooked breakfasts and the ones we chose were excellent (perfect poached eggs!), served with nice coffee and juice. A very limited selection of cereal was also available on request. Overall, we really enjoyed our brief stay and would happily recommend!
There is no parking at the pub and parking in the town is quite expensive. There is however a Charity Car Park a bit further up the High Street at Whitstable Junior School from 9am-5pm (10am on Sundays) on weekends and during school holidays. Not only is this much cheaper (they ask for a donation), but it provides valuable income for both the school and the various charities that take it in turns to run the car park. Overnight parking is available in council run carparks; the cheapest ones are Band 3 and the nearest of these is on Shaftsbury Road.

The staff, without exception, were welcoming, very helpful and considerate and all seemed happy with their jobs and work colleagues. They were professional, efficient and a joy to have around. The best I have experienced in a long time.
Booking.com's use of AI to answer my question about car parking - it simply said free parking was available. In fact it is only available (and for strictly limited periods) in the narrow residential streets around. The hotel staff were much clearer, sending an e-mail pointing me in the direction of the nearest and cheapest 'pay and display' and the Canterbury Parking dept were able to give me details and costs over the phone before I set off for Whitstable. It's good job I didn't rely on booking.com and a lesson to not trust them in future.

The location was excellent, right in the centre of Whitstable. The room was outstanding. Great selection of breakfast items. Far exceeded our expectations.
The staff were all really pleasant, but the service at times was inconsistent; we were offered, or told, different things by different members of the team. There was no air con, and the room could get really stuffy as the windows only opened slightly. On our first night, we got little sleep as we had to leave the windows open and the noise of the traffic passing directly below the window from 5am woke us. We asked for a fan again the next morning and were given one by the second member of the team we spoke to. It resolved the issue straight away. I would suggest having fans in the room as standard during warmer months. Small thing, but made a real difference.

Really lovely property. Staff helpful and so nice. Rooms clean, fresh and high attention to detail. Great decor. Breakfast included was delicious and a great choice. Would definitely stay again. Location was spot on. Complimentary Whitstable lager in the rooms. Nice touch. Water and coffee also provided and nice toiletries.
Loved everything about the property. Not a complaint at all but if mobility and stairs not your thing then ask for a room on one of the lower floors. Again, not a complaint just a helpful guide.

The hotel is in a great location about five minutes from the beach. The room was beautiful, nice furnishings and big windows that opened (the street was a little noisy but this didn’t bother me as I appreciated the fresh air!). Very nice breakfast (à la carte menu and included in the price of the room, which I didn’t know in advance so was a bonus). Check out until 11 also great.
The welcome at check in left a lot to be desired. I arrived early so had a drink in the bar (which was more than happy to do). Then after the check in time arrived I went to do so, had to wait, the manager arrived, had to wait some more - they were obviously short staffed but it wasn’t handled well and I didn’t get to my room until about 20 minutes after the check in time. There were staff about but not trained to check people in - perhaps this would be a simple solution to the problem as there were others waiting after me.

Stylish decorated and very comfortable hotel, with bar and restaurant, in the centre of Whitstable. Breakfest is impeccable. Very friendly service. Availability of (paying) short or long term parking nearby. Good bus connection to Canterbury.
We received a room on the 2nd floor that was cosy but smaller (and under the roof) than the ones on the pictures for the same rate. There is no elevator, so a lot of steps up and down, certainly with luggage. Isolation of windows in this room was not good. We were there in a quiet period, so no noice in the evening, could be different in the summer however.

We understand that the hotel has undergone a recent renovation which was clearly done with style and comfort in mind. The building itself is shown off in all its mid Victorian glory and the rooms have been designed to match. We were really impressed by the well-equipped room, along with the luxurious furnishings, the beautiful full-length windows, the comfortable bed and the excellent shower. Breakfast was delicious with a good range of choices. The kitchen was flexible enough to adapt to what we wanted. Overall this was a very positive experience.
Nothing!

Great location right in the centre of Whitstable, a short walk from the train station. Really lovely rooms, recently refurbished and a lot of attention to detail such as well thought out lights and bedside usb connections, local beers left in room, coffee machine. The pub itself is lovely and although we didn't have dinner there the menu looked great and our breakfast in the morning was delicious and a fab selection. Would definitely stay here again. The pub was very busy but all staff friendly and helpful
Nothing it was all fab

Looks nicely and recently refurbished. Very clean and lovely room decor with comfortable bed/cushions. Good breakfast options. Great central location however with that comes high street noise as the windows are single glazed sash, shame they weren't upgrade as part of refurbishment.
For the price i expected a bit better in the little things. For example at breakfast is wasn't clear what was available but not on the menu - one day we were offered cereal, the next we weren't. One day we saw jam for toast by the pass but weren't offered any, also fresh orange juice rather than carton would be nice or higher quality carton juice. We were in a top floor room and it was quite warm despite outdoor temperatures being low 20C with no option other than opening windows and letting moths in.

Beautifully decorated and styled. Great location
Check in was a strict 3pm we asked at 2.40pm and got a very blunt response from a dark haired female member of the team 40 ish years old. A little disappointing as 20 minutes later there was a wait to check in! The young lad that did check us in was friendly and helpful. With its central location it can be quite noisy at night. The outside dining times (separate menu) are made up as they go along so don’t get caught out like we did. Some foods are not available on a Sunday, however this is not clear.
