As soon as we arrived, Sue was friendly and welcoming, and even said we could bring takeaways back and eat them in the dining room/lounge if we wanted to. She even left a beer glass out for us the second day. Full English breakfast was excellent. There was only one choice of cereal out, however the cooked breakfast was quite sufficient for us. Location is very good being just steps away from bus stops in either direction, and short walks to beaches/town.

There was still litter in the bin in the lounge when we arrived (well I had to find something for this section!)

Sue was a perfect host - friendly, responsive to our timing requirements and ready with suggestions and advice on the town. She also let us just "be" - the perfect balance of privacy and engagement. The bed was really comfortable, the room was large, and the location was handy for the centre. Our breakfasts were matched to our dietary requirements, and altered in size to our needs for the upcoming day.

The house is on a road leading in to the town, so isn't silent in terms of traffic. However, the windows were double-glazed with thick curtains, and this didn't disturb our sleep.

Breakfast was lovely every morning. Lovely, bright, fresh clean room. Cliftonville House was in a great location too, near the town and harbour and close for buses and trains. Host Sue was lovely. Friendly and helpful, providing information of where to visit, finding out times of places to visit, times of transport/s. Staying at the Cliftonville House just added to the enjoyment of visiting Whitstable. Would very highly recommend Cliftonville House. Hopefully, when we are lucky enough to visit Whitstable again, I would stay at Cliftonville House, there is absolutely no need to go find anywhere else to stay.

There was not a thing not to like. Host Sue, breakfast, room, location were perfect.

The host, the house, the parking, the storage in the room and the layout of the room. The high street is less than 10 minutes and the local shops just two minutes away. We did not have to ask for anything as things were all in any easy to get to place and Sue our friendly host welcomed us pointing out that one of the lamps we were using had a fault.

Unfortunately propery on the main road, which sometimes was quite noisy.

Sue is an excellent and charming host! Our room was clean and airy, bed was big and comfortable, and bathroom spotless. We were treated with tasty breakfasts, and cherry on the cake was a dedicated, covered, parking space. You can't beat that in busy with turists seaside town. Little touches, like small fridge, just outside room doors, microwave in the dining room or plenty of maps to discover local areas, just add extra to very pleasant stay. We shall return. If your room overlooking the street, you may hear a bit of noise. But once you close the windows, you'll sleep like a baby.

Cliftonville House is on the outskirts of Whitstable but it's not far to walk to the centre and benefits from a frequent bus service. Sue cooked a lovely breakfast each morning, making exactly what I wanted. Cereals, juice, toast and tea were also available. Bottled water is available and Sue also allows guests to use the breakfast room and microwave for a takeaway evening meal if desired.

We were made most welcome by Sue. Unfortunately, we stayed over 3 of the hottest days of the year (33C) and our room was in the afternoon sun so it was very warm! Two fans provided -thank you - but one could not be adjusted in elevation and the other was a Dyson so useless. Otherwise an excellent stay in a nice town. Recommend the mussels in the Duke of Cumberland

No air conditioning!!!!

Sue was an exceptional host who took the time to talk with us, give ideas on places to go and even a voucher for free entry into Canterbury Cathedral. Her breakfast is wonderful, the Lemon Room bed and room very comfortable and all super clean with a decent shower. During the hot spell Sue even put in two fans to use which was a godsend.

The only single downside for me was the size of the room (however the other room available is larger). Just a little more space down the side of the bed would have been good, but that isn't something that Sue can do anything about and was more than made up for with the positives.

It was a perfect stay. Sue was a lovely host and made us feel very welcome. The room was spacious and spotless and the shower was very good. The breakfast was hearty and beautifully cooked. We were having a couple of days break after a hectic time at home and the ambience of the room and the general calm of the place helped us relax and enjoy it all.

We loved our stay here. Sue was the perfect host and the bedroom is gorgeous. Very comfy bed, hot shower, cosy armchairs... much more spacious than we'd anticipated. Breakfast was also excellent and Sue went out of her way by getting oat milk etc. in advance on request. Huge thanks Sue!
