The location...tucked in the midst of large fir trees and not on a busy main street was wonderfully refreshing, The staff were quite helpful and fun to relate to. The hotel was clearly a high quality facility. It had a well-appointed lobby, a very nice breakfast area...nicer than many restaurants, and the food was excellent...a great variety and well prepared. A breakfast like this could cost more than $40 for two in a nice restaurant and to our pleasant amazement, it was free. The game room had an excellent and high quality pool table, ping pong table, and other games to play and a comfortable environment with nice seating.

It had nice artwork in the corridors of the floors, but the featured painting in our room above the fireplace was a deer dressed to look like a person. I would rather have beautiful landscape art pieces in the room.

Stayed as part of a 14 day road trip. Price for one night was very good. Plenty of parking and pool looked nice, although we never used it. Gym and games room an added extra. As restaurant wasn't open we got an Uber into town to a fab restaurant called 'Oakdale'. Highly recommended.

Not sure about the words 'chateau' and 'boutique'. Quite a standard hotel really which im sure is really busy in winter with the ski season. Whole place had a smell of cooking oil / fat from the kitchen. No bar or restaurant open (apart from breakfast) which was disappointing after a very long drive. Man at check in was very surly and not welcoming at all, however lady in morning on checkout was much better. It wasn't expensive for one night so suited our needs, but nothing special.

I thought it was a cute, affordable hotel in a convenient location! The entrance decor looks very nice, it's nice to see they have a piano & fireplaces, plus a game room! The in-room fireplace was a perk also & the wall art everywhere. The mini fridge was the taller kind, which really came in handy for the group. I requested a room with a nice location for my birthday & the hotel was happy to offer me a great spot!

I do wish the jacuzzi seemed more clean & it didn't feel very warm. The room sometimes had a musty smell. If the fireplace goes off, it takes time before you can turn it back on. We had to use 2 hotel carts for our things because of extra stairs that can't be bypassed, but I'm glad there was another cart available on our floor.

My son uses a wheelchair and we had the accessible room. Couple of issues: 1. My son could not wheel out onto the balcony. 2. No carpet should be used in wheelchair accessible rooms. 3. He could not open and get to the bathroom by himself. 4. ALL accessible rooms should have a roll-in shower. 5. The elevator does not go down to the game room area or pool. 6. Fireplace worked intermittently. 7. Sliding door to balcony was very hard to open and shut. 8. Beds could have been more comfortable. All in all, we enjoyed our stay, Facility does need to work on their "accessibility" for those who use wheelchairs. Thank you.

The breakfast was excellent... real eggs, fresh fruit, perfect oatmeal, etc. The room was clean and really great! We didn't use the fireplace because the weather was too warm, but it was a beautiful touch. Everything was clean and comfortable. Every staff person we came in contact with was outstanding, friendly and helpful. Our brother and sister-in-law stayed in an accessible room down the hall and their comment was that they have never stayed in a nicer place, and it was easy to get her wheelchair in and out of their bathroom. We used the pool and jacuzzi. The pine trees surrounding it made it relaxing and beautiful.

Can't think of anything we disliked. We liked everything about this place. The location is perfect for the lake/village or Big Bear City. We were there for a wedding at the "Into The Woods" venue which was close and very nice too!

First thing you see is how beautiful the lobby is with ample seating and lounge space for guests. The room had a nice gas fireplace that gave us that cabin feel, and a cozy private balcony with Mountain View’s Breakfast is served from 7-10 am with different options even includes a mini pancake station! There is also an outdoor jacuzzi for you to enjoy and a huge game room with may games and seating for guest to hang out and enjoy

Parking was a little rough mainly because the spots are small and don’t really accommodate for bigger vehicles ( I was in a small car that got boxes in between 2 big work trucks )

Loved everything about this hotel. I would stay here again. It was perfect. My grand kids who also came with us loved the place especially the great pool and the game room. This hotel was definitely luxury and the price was great. Next time I go to Big Bear I plan on staying at this hotel. Would recommend this hotel to anyone in a heartbeat. Loved It.

Everything was perfect. Comfortable bed, very clean room, great game room and pool and convenient location.

I like the design inside the hotel very classy, elegant, we did not expect that as we booked the same day but it was more than we expected, breakfast area very clean and organized, game room, small gym, room very clean, our room had hot tub view and pool view, small balcony, we came here during the winter Storm so we were able to have a beautiful snowy view, small chimney beautiful as well.

Only thing was we weren't able to connect to the TV but who needed a TV when we had everything else

Friendliness of staff. Extremely helpful on every occasion. Very clean place. Even during remodeling. Great parking. And especially breakfast. Love the in house breakfast.

Booking.com did not inform you that Best Western going through major remodeling. Picked this place for family to have a lounge/bar pool tables and restaurant to come back to after a wedding. These were all closed. We booked 6 rooms. Although clean, Best Western went a lil cheap on remodel detail. Except for details, this place is still very clean. Price is a tad high, but I accepted this price and would again because of cleanliness. This place will be awesome when finished.

Is very nice, staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the staff in the dinning room were very nice as well. Nice balcony accent.

Elevator is not functional to go all the way up. They are a couple stairs that are not ADA friendly. They were able to accommodate us on the first floor all the way to the end so my son had a long way to walk. If you or a love one have mobility impairment and need a wheelchair or walker to walk I strongly suggest to ask for a room on the lobby floor. Very awkward and scary Deer paint.
