We’re frequent visitors to the Back Bay Inn, so know it’s lovely and restful. Its location on the bay and its lovely grounds make it easy to spend an afternoon sitting in the several Adirondack chairs after visiting nearby attractions.: Vintage stores and shops in Morro Bay, a variety of beaches, and San Luis Obispo, to name a few.

This time we stayed in The Loft, a comfortable suite with kitchen, living area, bedroom, and view of the bay from the deck. Unfortunately, it was February and the loft was cold despite a fireplace and the one space heater we could make work. A continual humming noise in the bathroom from the area below the loft (perhaps the inn’s laundry) was distracting. Staff was sympathetic and gave us extra bedding. Still, I think we will stay in the main building in our next visits.

we were rowing in the back bay and the inn was perfectly located for us. The grounds we manicured and beautiful. The management kindly let us use the grounds and their water to wash down our boats at the end of the day which was a huge plus for us. The front desk support was extremely friendly and supportive of our needs. We ate at the restaurant next to the inn and there was a breakfast place there as well. For lunch we walked 2 blocks to a great beer garden.

The vouchers for breakfast could use some improvement. Even though the inn states to use the correct dated voucher, If you don't have the voucher with the correct date, the breakfast place will not accommodate you.

The property is beautiful and the room was very comfortable with comfortable seating. I would definitely stay here again.

The metal bed makes noise and the parking is assigned and tight. If we were able to park on the end we'd have more room. Instead we parked in our assigned space and so did the people next to us which meant we were on top of each other getting in and out when there were empty spaces further apart from each other. Also, their car looked into our room. The music from the restaurant was relaxing but also a little sad.

Our room with a balcony overlooking the bay was awesome. Waking up to seeing the bay outside the double doors was superb. You could even see the bay from the shower with all the doors open. Staff was exceptionally friendly. Happy hour was a nice perk.. Breakfast vouncher were good and honored the next day (due to a closure of the restaurant on the first morning). Location very calm and relaxing but a quick drive to anything you'd need.

Patio and room could have been cleaned a little better, but it was overall fine. Front door does not insulate sound well.

Back Bay has long been a favorite: a beautiful lodge in a beautiful location with beautiful gardens. Office staff is welcoming and helpful. Sitting in Adirondack chairs watching the birds and the bay and the kayakers and other water activities as the fog lifts and the waves sparkle is pure joy.

Fewer amenities than on previous visits, perhaps due to economic considerations, but it did affect our recent stay. Daily or even every-other-day housekeeping was not provided except on request. Bath linens consisted of two washcloths, two hand towels, and two large bath towels for the two of us who’d booked for three nights, which included parts of four days. Soap and shampoo were available through wall-mounted containers, typical in lesser-level lodging. Only a Keurig was provided for refreshment, no snacks nor water even for pay. We appreciated the breakfast coupons, but prefer the former cafe owner’s menu, coffee, and presentation.

I loved everything about it. It was beautiful better than what I thought. I most specifically loved the view of the water and the chairs facing it. It was a beautiful site to just sit and read.

The view facing the waters with chairs.. I was attempting to read with a peaceful scenery facing the water but there were guests there talking very loudly so I wasn’t able to read in peace and just enjoy the noise of nature. Other than that it was still a beautiful place to sit.

Wonderful location with beautiful views from the bayside rooms. The new owners have done a great job on the plantains around the inn : everything was in bloom when we were there - a myriad of pretty colour. 16.00-18.00 ‘Happy Hour’ was a nice touch with free wine and snax for residents Private parking and a new, very good, bistro on site along with a coffee hut with does excellent coffee, good drinks and breakfast sandwiches (the Inn gives you a $7 credit)

The noise level in the rooms of the bathroom fans and oddly the coffee machines were a LITTLE loud and could be heard from room to room… but I’m sure this could be sorted with some adjustments and perhaps wouldn’t be a nuisance to most people!

We stayed at the Loft. We had a second floor apartment for ourselves. It was spacious, with a full kitchen, and a huge patio to enjoy the views of the Bay and nearby park. We loved the serenity and beauty of nature of this location. It's a peaceful and yet very well developed area. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Morro Bay is a short drive away. Thank you to the Back Bay Inn and the staff. We had a wonderful time here.

Quiet safe Location, spacious rooms, wine in the evening, convenience of check in and check out online, comfortable beds. Lively Farmers market on Monday close to the hotel

Curtains needed cleaning, could hear people talking in other rooms although it was very quiet after 8 pm. Bathrooms could use an update and the toiletries were basic. I was glad that I brought my own.

The location, friendly staff - especially swift contact after hours made it perticularly pleasant. There is landuromat, little shop and farmers' market nearby. Super hiking trails. Appreciated the parking spot in front of the room. Short drive to Cal Poly.

The breakfast is offered at a small cafe (the food is good) but there is no plave to sit inside. It was vey cold, and with a jet lagged customer seeking coffee at 6 dm in a cold weather it was a bit sad.. During the day, with the sun, it was perfect, but be ready to eat in your room.
