The rooms were clean, comfortable and smart, the pool was great, whilst not included in the rate the breakfast was delicious, and the view of the sea and access to the beach superb. The chicken kebabs from the store up the road were delicious too!

Some staff were a bit snooty as we did not want valet parking, and you then had to find parking the other side of the road. This was different to most other hotels outside the big cities we stayed at on our trip where parking was not two tiered and more relaxed. The charges they temporarily place on your card then refund - what’s that all about?

The staff were amazing, they were so friendly and helpful and even remembered our names. We ate at the restaurant Marisol and it was delicious! We were able to sit on the patio and watch the sunset while eating dinner and they had heaters by the table and even offered blankets! The pool was heated so we were able to swim at night and in the morning which was perfect. Our room had a partial ocean view and it made the stay even better it was so nice to be able to walk on the balcony and just watch the ocean from the room. This hotel is also a 10 min drive to the pier if you are wanting to visit there. If you are planning on visiting Pismo Beach soon I highly recommend staying here you will feel like you are on vacation in Hawaii. So beautiful 10000/10

Comfy beds. View from outside. Pool. Restaurants.

Room was not clean well enough. Bathroom counters had product from last people. Outside balcony had drink stains. The refrigerator did not work. Pillows had stains. I decided not to complain at time due to just literally being to relax and let go but it did seem like these things should have been covered prior to my stay. Also the view was not as great as it was Advertised. I was looking at a tree and had to have a very unique angle to see any ocean. Just seemed unfair to be charged the eves money for that view.

The property is well-appointed and was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The shuttle service from the train station was prompt and accommodating despite several delays to our arrival. Our server at the restaurant was impeccable, as was the food. We had a wonderful time walking the bluffs, through the neighborhoods, tide-pooling, and watching the sunset sky from the pool and hot tub. I loved hearing the ocean waves and seeing the sliver of coastline through our open window all night.

Several staff members misgendered my long-haired son, calling us "ladies," which was annoying, especially given his typically male attire of a collared button-down shirt and slacks. While I expect the intent was simply to make a child feel grown up and special, since visually identifying a child's gender can often be tricky, using language like "you two" or "you and your guest" or "young companion" takes the guesswork out while being equally polite and inclusive. Asking and using his name to address him directly would have also made a great impression (as our server made a point to do).

A lovely hotel about 3hours from LAX for an one night 2 day stopover in LA. A treat for our last night of holidays. And wasn't it a treat. Hired a car, and arrived to Valet parking (extra), a beautiful comfortable room, and the most friendliest Hotel and Restaurant staff I have ever experienced. Sadly the weather wasn't in our favour, so swimming and hopping in spa wasn't on our list, but it didn't stop others as it was heated. The food, views, staff and decore at the Marisol Restaurant was sensational. There is an ocean walk path to enjoy as well.

Every single staff member greeted us warmly. I don’t think we walked by one staff personnel without being greeted and a very kind and professional manner. It was a very nice stay❤️ we will be booking again for our California trip in September Thank you Cliffs resort, and spa! The Kiser Family

Unfortunately, the Marisol restaurant was extremely expensive, but the food was terrible. I heard Ppl at a table next to us and an outside table. Say the same thing about the fish tacos that we got. “ no flavor very bland and presentation was sloppy” I refused my order after two bites 😳 Not the dining experience we were hoping for considering that the hotel was so amazing! The nachos were soggy, sloppy and aesthetically visually pleasing every single item we ordered was bland. Definitely not worth the cost at all….however, the overall ambience was nice and so was the staff it was the chef that needs additional training that was absolutely terrible for a high-end restaurant.

I have stayed at the Clifts approximately 30 times and use to meet my family there for the Thanksgiving dinner. But for all my visits and that included paying for my parents and daughter’s room I have yet to receive even an offer of an upgrade or a voucher for drinks. I have been to the Clifts twice in the last two months and it has the location that is the draw more than the hotel.

The staff was really nice and helpful with questions. The hotel and restaurant were very clean. The pool was a nice atmosphere. We have stayed there multiple times and will continue to come back as we can afford it. It is a little pricey but worth the experience. Avila and pismo are nearby which make it great for our son to have fun at the beach. The walk down to the beach from the cliff was nice and we got to play in the tide pools. Room service was great from the Marisol restaurant.

Nothing to really complain about. Staff was great.

The staff was amazingly accommodating. The facilities fabulous. The restaurant delicious . The rooms spacious and super clean. The trail to walk clean and very well lit and good signs preventing you to stay off the cliffs. The self parking is not bad at all. Super empty as people are lazy and don't want to walk 3 minutes to park. I thought it was wonderful. Gave me a chance to get in a few more steps in. By the way self parking off site is FREE! Valet parking is $20 per day.

The price! It is still too expensive. This pandemic has made corporate America more corrupt and greedy than ever. I did not like that that dogs are allowed. It is gross. This man had a big dog and it stunk like hell!!! I had the bad luck of bumping into him at the restaurant and I wanted to vomit!!!

Staff extremely nice, especially at the pool, great for a break of 2 days, luckily we were there when it was not too busy so enough space at the pool even in the afternoon.

People could bring their own music to the pool and treated the pool like their backyard. Totally disregarding other people. Not what you would expect at a hotel of this standard. Felt very much like a camping ground. When I asked the staff about it they said it was allowed.
