It’s designed for people with cars. The parking is really safe. Only the ones who are checked in have access to the underground garage. There is a room key card scanner at the entrance of the underground garage. The parking is spacious as well. The ease of parking our car feels like the parking layout is was well thought out. The rooms are safe as well. Like the garage, only the ones who are checked in can go inside the rooms. There is also a room key card scanner at the entrance to the rooms. Additionally, there is a direct access from the rooms to the garage. They layout is extremely well designed for security. There is also an ice dispenser at the floor where our room is located. The location is nice as well. There are restaurants nearby. Looking through the window, I can see the Golden Gate Bridge from a distance when there is no fog. There is also a safe in the room so we were able to put our valuables in there. Overall an efficient experience and I definitely would visit again if I have a car with me.

It looks old. There is no refrigerator nor a microwave. Do not bring takeaway. We left the takeaway at our table and then the next day after waking up, there were ants crawling already. But these negatives did not hinder our enjoyable experience at SF.

this is the fifth time I have stayed at the Chelsea in over the last few years. The location in the marina district is super convenient. It is close to many fine restaurants and a short walk to the water. My son lives a few short blocks away. The rooms are large and comfortable. Even though there are several very popular bars that are packed with young people until two or three in the morning, I have no trouble sleeping. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful.

I wish the property offered a complementary breakfast. Just having a small area to get some coffee and some pastries or fruit would be nice.

The Chelsea Inn far exceeded all my expectations. First, the location -- on Lombard Street in Cow Hollow, within walking distance of many restaurants. Bus stop outside on Lombard Street. Second, security -- at check-in, you received an electronic key card to enter the building and to enter your room. Card also provided access to the secure car parking garage below the building. Third, no charge for parking your car and no restrictions on "in-and-out's." Fourth, quality of room -- we had a King bed with a very large television screen and a high-speed internet connection. Our bathroom had marble tile flooring and a shower/bath combination tub. Very hot water. Room and hallways were exceptionally clean. Easy to control room temperature settings. Finally, the quiet -- our third floor room was away from the traffic on Lombard Street and we heard NOTHING while in our room.

Only "would have been nicer if..." was the mattress on the King bed. When either I or my spouse turned over, the other person would feel the movement. We would have liked a firmer mattress.

The Chelsea Hotel is my go-to spot for a quick trip to San Francisco. I’ve stayed here before, and it never disappoints. The rooms are clean, very spacious, and well-maintained. The location is unbeatable—just a five-minute drive from the Golden Gate Bridge! The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the Wi-Fi works flawlessly. Another great perk is the covered parking—while not huge, it’s perfect for keeping your car safe overnight. This time, I had an appointment before my check-in, and when I requested an early check-in, the hotel immediately accommodated me. Their service is top-notch! Highly recommended!

Everything was great! No complaints at all. Just keep in mind that this isn’t a luxury hotel. I stayed over the weekend, and there was some street noise at night from nearby bars, but the neighborhood itself is very safe and has some fantastic dining options close by!

Great location near Marina and several bus lines, large room, clean, underground gated parking lot. Large queen bed was pretty comfortable. We especially liked Rose's cafe for brunch and Jaranita Peruvian for dinner. 1 block away you can rent bikes.

Aging building that is well maintained with newer bathroom but could use paint job. Older but solid furniture. Slow elevator. Excellent restaurants nearby.

Easy check in, room was much bigger than expected, one floor up. Location was great for access to the wider San Fransisco area, with buses stopping right outside the hotel. There were also plenty of places to eat in the local area and Fisherman's Wharf is a 10 min bus ride/30 minute walk away. Amenities in the room were reasonable - TV, coffee maker and AC, the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean.

A lot of reviews mention noise from outside. This was not really a problem for us, but could be for others. the hotel is on the busy Lombard Street and road noise from outside is quite intrusive. There are also a number of bars and eateries in the locale which add to the noise levels. The rooms could probably benefit from updated double/triple glazing to counter the noise. If noise doesn't really bother you it's a good place to stay; if you are sensitive to it maybe consider somewhere else

The location is excellent. Really easy to get to anywhere from bus stops right outside the hotel. Cycle hire shop on next block. Union Streets (lots of good restaurants) just 6 min walk away. Onsite parking at no extra cost was hugely useful. Staff really helpful and let us check in 2 hours early. Overall rooms pretty comfortable, and motor inn set up makes getting in and out really quick and easy (but still secure).

No refrigerator but they provide ice and ice buckets so could work around. Noise from nearby club the first night was v disruptive. Probably not as bad for internal rooms. We were equipped with ear plugs for subsequent nights but it was not as bad the following night and only a problem at weekends.

The accommodation met all my expectations. The room was large enough and oriented to a quiet street with a beautiful view of the entire neighborhood. I also liked the quality of the windows. Visitors will appreciate the proximity of dining establishments and the nearby marina with views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island. I love this place and will definitely come back here. The trolley stop is right in front of the hotel and the line goes directly to the center.

If you're planning a short stay in San Francisco, this hotel is a great option. It's conveniently located, just 10 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge and 5 minutes from the Palace of Fine Arts. The rooms are spacious enough for families, and the elevator-accessible parking is a major plus. While not overly luxurious, the hotel offers a comfortable and convenient stay for adventurous families and couples.

While the hotel doesn't have an on-site restaurant, a small complimentary breakfast item, like a packaged cookie or granola bar, would be a nice touch. This would be especially convenient for early morning departures or late-night arrivals. However, the hotel's central location offers a wide variety of breakfast options, allowing guests to explore the local culinary scene.

Convenient location right on Lombard Street. Lots of restaurants and bars close by, downtown SF still walkable (for good walkers). Golden Gate Park and beach close by. This is a motel type accommodation with parking space in ground floor and basement, rooms in first and second floor. Somewhat old fashioned rooms, but clean and well maintained. Good value if you include cost for parking with other hotels in SF.

Street can be noisy on weekends from party people outside.
