The staff were very helpful and the facilities were clean and organized. The bed was comfortable, and the room was a perfect size for us. I liked that there were some small items in the office for sale if needed on your travels. (Snacks, cough drops, etc.). The free breakfast was definitely a plus. Lots of places do not offer that anymore. There were bagels, blueberry Danish, croissants, yogurt, cream cheese, peanut butter, & jelly. To drink they had water, orange juice, regular and decaf coffee. Our teens definitely had enough to fill their bellies. The fire pit, pool and corn hole were great. The boys really liked them. I liked that the hotel had restaurants within walking distance. Nice quiet area. There is also a park near by, so my boys were able to play basketball.

I didn't like the parking. But I guess it's expected, its SF. We parked in a parkade down the street from the hotel. The hotel parking was already full. My kids were hoping to swim in the morning when the pool opened, but it was way too cold. I know it said heated pool, but the heater wasn't turned on until closer to check out time. Not much to watch on TV unless u can sync your phone to the TV. We did just that, and watched Netflix in the evening. Besides that, we had a great experience at the hotel.

We really enjoyed the outdoor patio with fire pit and blankets, included breakfast, on-site parking, and the walk in closet in our room!

I thought the $75 dog fee was quite pricey especially since there was nothing in the room like dog bowls or a dog bed. We stayed at 3 other hotels in the Cali area that only cost $15-$20 for our dog and that included dog bowls and a dog bed. This might be worth some consideration in the future.

The location is so much fun because you can walk to all the shops and restaurants on Chestnut Street, Union Street, and Fillmore Street with ease. The place is decorated in a very cheerful vibe and the people who work there are wonderfully friendly and helpful. The bran muffins offered at breakfast were divine.

Our room had a musty smell to it, likely due to the daily fog which probably just seeps in.

I have stayed at Hotel Del Sol a number of times. It had been some years since my last visit to San Francisco but I was looking forward to my stay. It's a great friendly nicely located travel motel in a fun section of town. I have stayed at the top end hotels in downtown San Francisco but my preference remains the Hotel Del Sol. Walk a couple of blacks to the marina, fun shopping, great restaurants.

The only thing that bothered me was the sort of musty odor that was in the room. I'm not sure if musty is the right word but it's that smell that sometimes comes with a travel sort of motel. Perhaps when they upgrade the room with new carpeting this will go away. My wife who has a much keener sense of smell than I do was not bothered by it all. Of course by the third day I no longer actively noticed it. ,,, but I would certainly return.

Really cool retro vibe with modern comforts. A super comfortable bed, effective air con and good, clean, functional bathroom. Much nicer than the street view would imply. Oscar on reception was super helpful and keen to make the stay as pleasant as possible. Great area, the Marina has great restaurants & coffee shops. I would definitely stay here again if in SF.

The hotel has great summer colourful vibe, with the swimming pool in the courtyard it doesn't even feel like your are in the middle of the city. The reception staff were very nice and friendly and the location simply fantastic. There is no breakfast room but you can either take the amazing pastries into your room or enjoy them on the outside patio / terrace. Everything was clean and well kept, we really liked our stay here.

Even though the hotel seemed to be quite empty at the time of our stay, on our second night there were other guests placed in the room directly above us and were stomping and being overall noisy since early morning.

We had a great stay at Hotel Del Sol. The service was outstanding—friendly and helpful staff made us feel right at home. The location is perfect, close to great restaurants and walkable to many attractions. We especially appreciated that the hotel has its own parking lot, which made things much more convenient in San Francisco. Would definitely stay here again!

Location felt very safe. Even though you had to pay for the somewhat limited on-site parking, it felt so much safer than leaving it somewhere in the city. Rooms were on the smaller side, but beds were very comfortable. Also, our room had a spacious closet so you could store all your luggage and shoes so it felt less cramped. Staff was very kind. Breakfast was an assortment of pastries and croissants, yogurt, fruit, etc.

Great location. Nice rooms and pool. Fab layout of rooms with views over the pool area and the city above on the hills. Breakfast is fine. Coffee pretty good. We’ve been before and came again as had such a great time the first time. It’s easy to get to. Parking is easy (paid). Everything is great! Ok it’s a little tatty in places but overall a fun, quirky place to stay in a great location!

Carpets on stairs needs addressing in places. Maybe add another (savoury) option to the breakfasts?

The staff were up beat ,friendly and very helpful ,especially Oscar who went out of his way to help me with a parking issue resulting in a most positive outcome. The breakfast was delightful and the coffee was strong and good, Overall I definitely recommend the Del Ray and absolutely would stay again.
