Loved the and quiet brick courtyard. Great location. Decor was charming (good work to you designers). Very well maintained. Friendly and helpful staff. Loved being able to walk to nearby dining, attractions and San Francisco scenery. Thank you for secured parking (wish we had a Model T).

Although we enjoyed our room, we will look forward to booking a Kitchen Room next time. Space is VERY limited, of course, but it would have been nice to have a little spot somewhere on the property where we could enjoy a glass of wine and admire the flowers outside. I kept looking around to see if I could find a little nook somewhere that might be converted to this purpose. No ideas, however.

Great hosts and such a stunningly beautiful courtyard, with parking! Aesthetically very pleasing and it was easy and affordable getting into the central parts of town with an Uber from there.

The rooms were a bit snug but we managed fine. More importantly: we didn't know we had to actively ask for housekeeping to do anything. So for 3 nights we had no beds made, no trash removed, no towels changed, nothing. If guests stay longer than 2 nights the least they could do is ask if we need anything, or if not doing beds/towels by default (weird!!), at least remove trash. We were at reception every day asking for coffee so it's not like we weren't reachable. We pay so much, so coming back to an uncleaned room is just not nice.

I can’t say enough good things about this motel! The location is unbeatable — just a short walk to the Museum of Fine Arts, surrounded by amazing restaurants, cute shops, and all in a clean, safe, and welcoming neighborhood. What really blew me away? Free parking — which is practically unheard of in this area. Being able to park stress-free and explore the city on foot was a huge bonus. The motel itself was clean, quiet, and comfortable — exactly what you need after a day of sightseeing and shopping. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for convenience, value, and a great stay in the heart of the city!

Charming, good location, and the room was nice and quiet (which is what I requested). Amusing & "colorful" interaction with front desk person (who was the owner, as it turned out...we talked SF rock music scene ..."back in the day" and some local SF history. Also good reminder to me that Chestnut St was so close by). A real and classing San Francisco experience! Also love the location...walk to many cool shops and cafes on Chestnut St. Also, short walking distance to Presidio Park and Crissy Field...both gorgeous natural beauty and SF history. And I slept very well in the comfy bed.

It was quite a challenge to park my car (only small garages are available at Marina Motel). Also, I hadn't been reminded ahead of time that only 1 car was allowed. My small family group had 2 cars and it was slighly stressful to figure out how to get parking for our 2nd car.

loved the character. The murals. The plants. The garage. The courtyard. It was so awesome. and I love that it is pet friendly. Saw several people had brought their dogs with them.

only minor complaint was since it is a pedestal sink. There was no counter space in the bathroom. So a little stand or a shelf would be awesome in there just to set your toiletries on.

The place is charming and simply accommodating. We quickly felt at home, and it was a nice retreat from the surrounding city. Staff is friendly and take pride in their property and service, which is exceptional nowadays. Location is pretty good and the motel felt private. Loved the courtyard, the flowers, murals and overall feel. Nice breeze from the bay, we slept comfortably.

We were concerned that we might lose our parking space by leaving, but we didn't. And the staff is happy to help guests park their cars safely. I'm impressed.

The Marina Motel is easy to reach with car and has private parking which is good to have in San Francisco. The environment felt safe also in the evening. The room / apartment is spacious and well equipped.

We knew that the traffic noise from Lombard Street can be disturbing, so we had via Booking.com booked a street facing apartment with the bedroom facing the much quieter inner yard. Unfortunately we were assigned an apartment with the bedroom facing the street, and this was quite disturbing during night time. We could only check which kind of room we had ordered once we were back home, at that time it was too late to complain.

I loved how close the hotel was to the Palace of Fine Arts and the Golden Gate Bridge. I brought my bike and was able to get around easily. I was in town for a show at The Independent and it was a quick $10 Lyft drive. I love love loved that they don't charge ridiculous rates for a pet, it was only $25. They also don't charge at all for parking, and my car was nestled into a (pretty tight) garage and I felt safe keeping my bike in there without the worry that someone may break into my car. They also let me check in an hour early and let me keep my car parked there after I checked out so I could go on my bike ride. Oh, and the property is gorgeous with all of the flowers around. It's quite magical!

I did have a street facing room, and the street is noooiiiisy! The room decor is nothing to be excited about, and the bed and pillows aren't extremely comfortable. However, I was only staying one night so this wasn't such a big deal to me. I do wish the experience I had seeing the exterior (garden portion) of the property could have been the same experience as the interior decoration.

Loved it! Adorable, convenient, and friendly. We wanted a place where we could walk around and keep our rental car safe and where we could make breakfast, heat dinner leftovers and make tea. This was perfect for us. The kitchen was cute with the necessities for a shirt stay. The bed was comfortable and quilt warm, and the shower/bathroom clean. There was a nice closet. We ended up using Ubers instead of driving around the city. We would love to stay here again.

We knew this was a busy place and were forewarned about noise. But Our unit was in the back of the property and the noise did nit Bother us. All was good!

The lodgings were charming. It was very nice to have a private garage in which to park. The place felt safe and was clean. We heard road noise from exhibitionists until about 11pm, which happened at a higher-end hotel too. It didn't motivate us to close our windows. I expect to lodge here again.

I'm particular about how beds are made and prefer that sheets keep all blankets, comforters, and decorative pillows from touching head pillows, in case blankets, comforters, and decorative pillows are not washed between each guest. I did not ask staff about this.
