loved the character. The murals. The plants. The garage. The courtyard. It was so awesome. and I love that it is pet friendly. Saw several people had brought their dogs with them.

only minor complaint was since it is a pedestal sink. There was no counter space in the bathroom. So a little stand or a shelf would be awesome in there just to set your toiletries on.

The Marina Motel is easy to reach with car and has private parking which is good to have in San Francisco. The environment felt safe also in the evening. The room / apartment is spacious and well equipped.

We knew that the traffic noise from Lombard Street can be disturbing, so we had via Booking.com booked a street facing apartment with the bedroom facing the much quieter inner yard. Unfortunately we were assigned an apartment with the bedroom facing the street, and this was quite disturbing during night time. We could only check which kind of room we had ordered once we were back home, at that time it was too late to complain.

I loved how close the hotel was to the Palace of Fine Arts and the Golden Gate Bridge. I brought my bike and was able to get around easily. I was in town for a show at The Independent and it was a quick $10 Lyft drive. I love love loved that they don't charge ridiculous rates for a pet, it was only $25. They also don't charge at all for parking, and my car was nestled into a (pretty tight) garage and I felt safe keeping my bike in there without the worry that someone may break into my car. They also let me check in an hour early and let me keep my car parked there after I checked out so I could go on my bike ride. Oh, and the property is gorgeous with all of the flowers around. It's quite magical!

I did have a street facing room, and the street is noooiiiisy! The room decor is nothing to be excited about, and the bed and pillows aren't extremely comfortable. However, I was only staying one night so this wasn't such a big deal to me. I do wish the experience I had seeing the exterior (garden portion) of the property could have been the same experience as the interior decoration.

Loved it! Adorable, convenient, and friendly. We wanted a place where we could walk around and keep our rental car safe and where we could make breakfast, heat dinner leftovers and make tea. This was perfect for us. The kitchen was cute with the necessities for a shirt stay. The bed was comfortable and quilt warm, and the shower/bathroom clean. There was a nice closet. We ended up using Ubers instead of driving around the city. We would love to stay here again.

We knew this was a busy place and were forewarned about noise. But Our unit was in the back of the property and the noise did nit Bother us. All was good!

One of the few places were we could get a family room with 3 beds. The individual garage was great, especially as we could park there before check-in. The location was good - lost of restaurants/bars and cafes in the neighbourhood. The room(s) were comfortable and clean, although a bit tired and the staff were really friendly.

The noise from Lombard Street (although the motel does warn you of this) and the fact the bedroom door went straight onto the external stairs. It would have felt more secure with a further street door/gate. If we hadn't needed 3 beds the rooms facing the internal courtyard would have been great.

So charming, nicely decorated, comfortable bed. I loved having a kitchen and parking. The airflow was wonderful, nothing like that cool SF beeeze to sleep like a baby. The grounds and buildings are incredible, a magical garden with pretty mediterranean style architecture.

I have mobility issues so the stairs to each room were a challenge. Also my room overlooked an abandoned building from the kitchen and bath, but the view from the room overlooked beautiful gardens and a nice sky view.

It's a very cute set of small buildings with garages for cars. There is room for a single car only in each garage. Extremely convenient and in a great location. The price is also affordable for what you get. The staff is friendly. Don't expect luxurious interiors, it's very simple and quite outdated, but I'd rather have the affordable price. I plan to come back here if I can, really a great little motel.

The pots and pans were in poor shape, they wobbled, they were extremely cheap and need replacement. But they were usable.

It is an older very well-maintained beautiful property. There are so many flowers everywhere! The room I rented was small and comfortable with the bonus of a small kitchen. It faced the courtyard and was quiet. They have excellent coffee in each room! The showers have lots of hot water and good pressure. It felt more like being at home then at being in a hotel. The location is excellent: right next to the Presidio, and one block away there are so many excellent ethnic restaurants to choose from.

Location is perfect, in a very safe area, and close to a lot of the SF objectives. A lot of great restaurants can be found within a 10 min walk. I think it was the best location I could have found. The interior yard is gorgeous with all the flowers and wall drawings. The room had everything I needed even for a longer stay, and everything was very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The room was a bit noisy being on the street side, but I already knew that. However, the bedroom was towards the inner courtyard so with the door closed I could sleep without hearing any of the street noise.

We have stayed here several times. It’s our favorite- charming, affordable, great location. Best prices I’ve found in SF for bringing your dog! Free parking. (Small to med cars only can fit)

It’s a very old charming place so things need repair more often. We’ve had a few issues with things in our room times but doesn’t stop us from staying again. Be warned you must have a smaller car to park in garages as they are tight fit.
