The breakfast was disappointed No concierge to help bring the luggage up/down the steps

It’s the oldest hotel in San Francisco, so there’s an antique charm about the place. Good location near Japan town. Most important, weren’t completely happy with our first room, and for a modest fee we were upgraded to a lovely suite.

The place is kept scrupulously clean, but some areas (like the elevator) could use a little care. Also, our suite had two tvs, neither of which worked properly.

Extremely helpful and kind staff also at late night. Very good position to discover the city with public transportation and fair price for San Francisco

Building very old, have to be renovated. Breakfast could have more variety. Difficult to park nearby if you have car

The hotel room was nice, clean, and spacious. The Victorian interior was nice, maybe a little overdone for this age. Very very lit up. Amazing front desk staff. Met a number of them over 4 days, and all were pleasant and kind, especially Alysea, the petite morning frontdesk. Amazing bar and top-class bartendar Mike and manager Hameed. Mike's mixology with fun and humour adds to the great vibe in the bar. Well located in a decent neighbourhood and to the quaint Japanese Town full of surprises. I was grateful for the step provided to get up the tallest bed I have come across ! The complimentary coffee station was a superb idea with a good selection of coffee tea and hot chocolate 24/7. The front lobby with books and chairs to sit was brilliant.

The shower head is too small and really needs to be changed. Enough of Victorian shower heads. We need to evolve! Lol. Breakfast was sad. I would suggest at least one salad please. Maybe just cucumbers. The darkest sausages aka overdone and sad meat patties. The egg dish changed from scrambled to omelette. That was it. Lots of room for improvement. The entrance only has steps up to frontdesk so carrying in luggage is difficult as no bellboy or assistance is available. A downside to property. A ramp would have been perfect.

A spotless room in an historic hotel that's close to a major transit artery and within walking distance to several neighbourhoods.

Breakfast was ok but indistinguishable from chain motel offerings. Room was a little dark with alley views.

I stay here all the time. It is my favorite hotel because the staff is so amazing. The location is perfect and you can't beat the price in SF. The bar has craft cocktails and good wine. The breakfast is consistently great. Free water, tea and coffee available anytime. Easy to pull up to and unload your luggage.

There are many steps to enter the front door lifting your luggage up. But there is an ADA entrance down a few feet if you need it. Because it is San Fran, if your room is on the street side, you can hear the traffic at all hours. I always ask for a quiet room that faces the side or back.

- room, breakfast Room was small and not well organised. - eg. fridge placed on top of a small table that was wobbly, wardrobe was very old and wasn't function properly (door not closing and opening properly), sink was placed in the room there was not real space for it. it was not practical or convenient and was blocking movement to the bed. Breakfast was very poor. It had ONLY: -Pancake base, bread, bagel -butter, philadelphia cream, peanut butter and chocolate spread -eggs -yogurt -sliced orange It DIDN'T have any sort of cheese, ham, bacon, sausages, beans, salads... In general, breakfast was very, very poor

A hotel built in 1902, as we were told, The Majestic keeps much of its original decoration allied to modern equipment and ammenities. Spacious rooms, confortable bed, clean and organized. The hotel's team was great all the time. The hotel gave us a feeling of what was like to be hosted during the first years of the twentieth century but with absolutely no signs of decay. On the contrary, It was like a time travel with internet connection. We strongly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is a little far from the main spots of San Francisco, but, if one doesn't care to walk a little, San Francisco has a really nice public transportation sistem. On the other way, the tranquility is worthwhile.

Almost everything . Free breakfast felt good but would have been happier if could be a bit more lavish or say a few more items added please . Room and bathroom excellent but do not have their own coffee machine or much of a TV . Overall experience excellent considering the building being from 1902 . Staff gets my 10 out of 10 with Maria and Manoj served all tirelessly and with a big smile . Best value for money .

Noise easily entering the room . Noise from upper room to the lower room or from side room etc though understandable but a bit disturbing but I cannot think of how they can stop that unless insulating(/ possible sound proofing ) all sides and floors . Yet we love the place .

This is an excellent option in terms of quality/price ratio! For San Francisco rates, this one is relatively cheap and has very good and clean rooms, plus the location is fantastic - 10 mins by foot and you're in Japantown, 15 mins by foot and you're on Filmore Street, which is filled with amazing bars and restaurants. Most of their staff members are very friendly and helpful. I stayed there for 10 days but I had made two separate bookings - they were super nice and allowed me to stay in the same room for almost the entire duration, even though my second booking was for a slightly different type of room. While breakfast options are not super varied, I would say it offers a good start for the day, and you can have fresh fruit and waffels :)

It could get quite cold in the room at night and heating did not seem to work very well. But poor windows seem to be a San Francisco thing so I would not really blame it just on the hotel.
