Shared bathrooms were not an issue. Two powder rooms, one shower, and one full bathroom on the third floor, which has total of 13 rooms. I never had to wait to shower or use toilet. All have reliable door locks. Typical of San Francisco: do not expect air conditioning or parking. I was always comfortable using the window to manage temperature. This hotel is half a block from the Muni/subway. Safeway is a block away and Walgreens is across the street. This location on Market Street is excellent. Walk a block and you’ll pass a coffee shop or two. Access to SFO airport is easy using the Muni to connect to BART.

My one complaint is unreliable internet. If you want to spend more than 10 minutes using the hotel internet, it will drop you. I found this just a bit frustrating.

The room was spotless clean .... I mean SPOTLESS clean !!! Bed was very comfortable. Modern furniture. Excellent location. Hotel is safe. Shared bathroom (separate shower and toilet) was clean. Towels are provided and changed everyday.

No mini fridge, no kettle in the room. Lighting is meh : yellow dim ceiling bulb. The one above the sink is better but won't be enough to light up the whole room.

The quality received for the price of the room was good. The hallway bathroom and shower were clean. Our sink onside the room was clean. Our room was restocked with soap every day and the towels weren't scratchy or thread-bare.

The wifi was spotty. Often times I would be connected to the network with no internet. Unfortunately, we couldn't control the temperature of the room.

Though this is an older hotel, with the toilet and shower down the hall, one can't beat the price and location. It is a walk-up and I was on the third floor, but the room was clean, as was the toilet and shower. The hotel was quiet (though my room was to the back.)

There are a few little maintenance issues that need to be looked into (door to the bathroom repaired so that it shuts correctly...)

Located very near a metro station and in front of tram lines. So visiting the city was easy. It was very clean both in the room and in the shared bathrooms.

Wifi was really bad. It did not reach my room at all so I had to go to the corridor to connect to it. As a traveller looking to plan my visit and book activities, it was really inconvenient. Also, even in the corridor it was slow. The street outside is very noisy and in my room there was no AC or fan so I had to keep the windows open.

Centrally located, I asked for a quiet room and got exactly that, away from the street. The room was spacious, clean, well lit, no smells, and perfect for the slumber I needed after a cross-Atlantic flight. The bed was the most comfortable thing I’ve slept in on a long time! The window even had a view of the backyard of the neighborhood, which I liked. The bathrooms were clean, well stocked, and comfortable. They were able to hold my luggage after check out, which was fantastic. Thank you!!

The stairway entrance may be a bit discomforting at first (old stairwell and metal gate), but I suppose it’s necessary in SF nowadays. Also, the shared bathroom only had a hook to lock from the inside, which some may have a problem with (not me).

It’s cheap and clean.

I wouldn’t say I “don’t like,” but a closet or a bar with coat hangers to hang things would have been great. Again, not a deal breaker at all.

The staff was very polite and understanding. The room was clean and spacious.

There could have been more amenities.

It’s bare bones basic but clean! Fantastic location! Church stop on the muni was on the same block! cheap and clean!!

Location location location, very clean very quite, and really great value for the price. Kind hosts and they cleaned the rooms everyday.

It is dated, it needs new bathrooms, new paint colors and new carpeting and white linens. But it is fine the way it is for the price.
