We stayed at Tropical Winds Hotel for a weekend trip and overall had a nice time. The room was spacious, clean, and had a beautiful ocean view from the balcony. We loved having a small kitchen, which made meals easy, though it would’ve been more convenient if basic utensils and a sponge for dishes were provided. The location is perfect—close to everything and right next to a beach access ramp since there’s no direct beach access from the hotel itself. The outdoor pool was great and right on the beach, and the indoor pool was a nice backup for rainy weather.

Some downsides: the hallways were hot, the elevators were small and very slow, and both the hallways and balconies constantly smelled like weed and cigarette smoke, which was disappointing.

The property has good location with great ocean views! Pool has plenty of room and property is well maintained. Front Desk staff was helpful and pleasant

Beautiful view, comfortable beds and easy access to shopping and restuarants

First off, I don't know what everyone else is complaining about - this property is FAR better than reviews suggest. I will stay here again. The staff here is amazing, friendly, and accommodating. Greeted us everytime we left and entered the property. The grounds are well maintained. Everything was in good working order. The AC in the room was AMAZING (the Hilton's AC doesn't work anywhere near as good as this one did!) The elevators worked (until the last night, and one of them was out of commission). Our room was clean and had plenty of towels, wash cloths. The bed was comfy. Overall, the room was spacious. There was a seating area and a table with chairs as well. The beach was just a few steps away and the views from the balcony was amazing! Both pools were clean and in good working order. The patio was clean and free of debris. The outdoor shower was great after coming from the beach so that sand isn't tracked into the pools or the lobby. There is a cafe on site which is open from 7a-2p everyday except Monday. They have a nice variety of options for breakfast and lunch. There are vending machines on site as well so you can grab a little snack or a bottled drink. There was even a machine for ice cream if you had that late night sweet tooth. Our room door was a little hard to open at times when we were going in, but nothing to complain about. I'm already looking at booking our stay here for next year. It's close to all kinds of restaurants and entertainment complexes, as well as shopping centers. It's on A1A and within walking distance of everything on the strip. It's only about 1.5 miles from the Ocean Center/boardwalk/pier. Also, the beach areas within this vicinity are well kept, clean, and free of debris.

Staff was friendly and sets on the beach

Wasn’t close to stores ,shops or entertainment . Sliding glass door on patio was broke . Had a hard time opening and shutting it . Knob on the tub didn’t work properly. The pool stayed dirty because the pump wasn’t working. Other then that our room was ready on time and it was clean and the staff was friendly.

Location, staff, really everything. We stayed on the beach all day, but everyone was having a great time at the pool each day. We had a full kitchen, and the bed was comfy. We stay here anytime we are in Daytona. We wouldn't stay anywhere else. We love it! Make sure you eat in the Cafe. The breakfast is so worth it. The staff in the restaurant get 110+ for service, friendliness, and making it a great experience. Lobby staff are on their game too. We will be back.

Clothes left in drawers from previous guest, and used coffee grind pouch left in coffee maker. We were on the 8th floor (top) and the room was a little warmer too our liking. Heat index was over 100 some days so that could be the issue.

We had 28 family members stay at this hotel for our annual Daytona trip. We had the king partial ocean view and they were good size. The beds were comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay there again. The restaurant at the hotel has wonderful food and very friendly service. We ate there everyday.

I had requested our rooms to be as close to each other as possible. We booked in February so this would be possible and unfortunately we were spread out on every floor. The icemaker was down the entire time. Other than this it was good.

This was one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed at! Even though it's not new or fancy it is extremely clean, like not even a mark in the tub, no dust or dirt anywhere, not a single hair on the bed or towels! The housecleaning lady name Diane was very nice and does an amazing job at keeping the rooms clean! That made the stay there so worth it. I'm a germaphobe so I usually take a disinfectant wipe and wipe down certain things that are easy to forget to clean at hotels and the wipe usually is brown when im done, but not here! That disinfectant wipe didn't have a speck on it when I wiped down the remote and bathroom door handle. Definitely made me feel very comfortable that everything was spotless. The bed and pillows were sooo comfy. AC worked very well, stayed cool even when we had the balcony door open. Location is good, it's right down from Publix, 5 below, etc. It could be closer to the pier and all that but its a short driving distance so not too bad and the beach wasn't so crowded. In the mornings we could see dolphins swimming from the balcony which was so cool. I didn't wanna leave at checkout, I would love to stay here again, and recommend it for sure, absolutely worth it!

The only thing I can think of is maybe updating some furniture, like the couch could of been nicer, the pull out mattress in it was definitely old, stained, and need to be replaced bad. That was the only thing dirty I could find. One more thing was the pool had absolutely no light at night which was a little creepy, I know the sea turtle thing, it has to be dark, but at least like a couple lights inside the pool is needed.

Love the location close to most everything and right on the beach.

This day was wonderful however there were a few things that were less than perfect. Had an efficiency room with stove refrigerator the whole full kitchen there was only one plate one bowl a couple coffee cups, but other than that, everything was good I had paperware so I didn’t really have a problem with the only one thing, but everything else was great. Loved it and I do plan on staying again.

The location is excellent and also the room we booked was perfect.

The cleaning lady was not as pleasant as she could have been. All we needed were some towels. I normally make up the bed and empty the trash myself. But when I asked her about the towels, she was a little short. So I just gathered the dirty towels and placed them outside the door. We still left a tip, but as I said, she could have responded a little more pleasantly.
