Very comfortable room. Good wifi. I only stayed 2 nights but I would have been comfortable staying several more nights.

When I came in, a small piece of gravel/rock had fallen down onto the bed, I think from the ceiling. As a result, the sheets weren't 100% clean. I wanted to do a late checkout, but this wasn't an option for some reason. The Sonder website/app said I could request a late checkout, but then when I tried to request, it didn't work. I called their Support team and they said they didn't have a late checkout option after all for my booking. Why say late checkout is an option if it's not possible to do it?

Quaint property that you will drive and walk by if not aware, making a more intimate or local feeling. The room was as authentic and modern made one as any could imagine, gorgeous exposed raw studs and brick with organic(?) soaps, S/C, to the all in one W/D. Felt more than safe inside and outside property. There’s Union Station, multiple grocery, convenience, gyms, bank, food, and every thing else Chicago offers within walking distance.

I’m new to the quaint style hospitality industry, which takes patience of yourself learning new ways to do hospitality of not a large property with valet and front desk, breakfast, maids, etc…, etc…, nobody is seen, just you and maybe others patrons, but they’re available 24/7 and are very helpful. Thankfully I was able to sit inside their small foyer to call them in order to figure out confirmation and entry codes. I’ve come to love this style of hospitality, although first several properties said I’m not a good candidate for such.

I loved being able to book a full apartment that featured a clean kitchen and a washing machine. The well-thought-out L-shaped layout made it feel more spacious than a typical studio. A hallway led to the kitchen, and around the corner, there was a cozy dining area with a table, two chairs, and a bench. The bed was tucked away at the end of the L-shape, ensuring it wasn’t visible from the entrance. The apartment was thoughtfully equipped with all the essentials, from a hairdryer to laundry pods, as well as utensils, dishes, pots, and pans.

Chicago was colder than expected in early December, and despite adjusting the thermostat, the apartment didn’t warm up properly, making my stay quite chilly at first. The exposed brick design, while stylish, wasn’t well-insulated for winter. However, after a few cold nights, I reached out to Sonder on the app, and they promptly provided a plug-in heater, which made the remaining nights much more comfortable. The walls are thin. So, if you're a light sleeper, I recommend bringing earplugs, as you might hear occasional sirens from outside and some noise from the neighbouring rooms or the hallway.

I stayed at Sonder The Burnham for 3 weeks and had a great stay. It's located in the middle of Downtown Chicago close to Union Station. I had a large clean apartment with all the amenities I needed. There's a large well-equipped kitchen, a washer/dryer, quiet air conditioner and a great bed. It was clean and there was not too much noise from the street, which can be an issue in Chicago, with the elevated metro lines. Large screen with Roku tv or HDMI connection and good Wi-Fi. Little to complain about, highly recommended!

Well equipped, comfortable and stylish apartment, which was perfect as a chance to recharge and catch up on laundry after a week of staying in hotels on a business trip. Right next to an amazing breakfast restaurant that's a Chicago institution, and within walking distance of lots of interesting places including Symphony Hall and theatre district. Sonder app is well worth downloading as it gives lots of functionality, including early check-in (for a fee),, virtual fee and other information about your booking. Extremely good value when I stayed.

A little noisy at times, especially plumbing and street noises, but not too bad. Maybe bring earplugs if you are very noise conscious like me. Virtual key access was a little clunky as you had to open the app and do several touches in order to access it each time. Might have been easier just to remember my access code!

Room was well appointed - full kitchen was nice. Location was great - a block from Union Station.

TV had no local channels or live broadcasts. It's nice to have local weather, news, and sports. . . . Biggest disappointment was working with Sonder customer service. My verification apparently did not go through, even though I got a 'verification accepted message'. When I followed up to get it corrected, I dealt with an agent ('Nick') for whom English seemed to be a second language, who was apparently working in an open office (overwhelming background noise), and who was not certain as to how to correct the verification (on hold multiple times for up to 10 minutes). Should not have taken 45 minutes to correct the problem. . . . Bottom line: Facility was nice; Sonder support was not good.

It was very clean and modern. The couch and chairs were comfortable. The hotel lacked what we didn’t care about anyway (breakfast, pool, etc) and was located exactly where we needed it.

The mattresses were so soft and sagging in the middle that both me and my brother (who slept on the other mattress) woke up with shoulder pain and needed massages. We agreed our bodies were like sleeping in a U-shape and we slept very poorly. I even took an extra day off work when I got home just so I could catch up on sleep.

Location is super convenient - 1 block away from Union state and blue line. We walked to to Randolph/ West Loop and into the Loop several times. I wish I booked a 1 bed to have more space but for the price, the value is great. Everything is very new, like the microwave was in demo mode and was never used before. Chat and support staff super responsive.

Wife is mostly reliable but sometimes gets slow and needs to turn off and turn back on.

Nice room, very tidy and hygienic. Air conditioner and WiFi was nice. Lots of different pots and pans and kitchen appliances.

Only thing I disliked was having no staff to help out in case something came up. Just one person would have made a difference. Especially as a foreigner coming from Europe, my phone plan was not working in the US and if I didn't have my check in info saved up in my phone I would have not been able to get inside the hotel room. Would be nice if they had some olive/sunflower oil in the pantry for cooking (so people don't have to buy a whole bottle)

Very well located

the outside entrance was always dirty. Finding the property in a raining night was difficult, plus considering there is no signage. Carrying up the suit cases was difficult, at the entry stair, without help, for a senior couple like us.
