I've stayed at the Moonrise several times. Much of the time I can't afford it, but when I can, it's always a great deal! It's just about the only place right on the Del Mar Loop, so easy to restaurants, stores, and theaters... And about a mile to the Wash U campus, still walkable. The rooms are very spacious and well-appointed, and I love the funky, space-theme decor throughout the hotel.

--There's a kind of refreshing informality among the staff in the lobby and up at the rooftop bar, but sometimes it borders on unprofessionalism. The parking valets and security officers are hard to distinguish from guests or locals (they're either on their phones or chatting animatedly with one another), and the reception desk is often crowded with boxes, luggage, and other items. On more than one occasion the personnel at the reception desk were standoffish rather than RECEPTIVE. The self-parking area seems a little sketchy since it's open to the public and thus to some of the street characters hanging out...

This hotel was great. We were in town for a concert on the Loop so the location was absolutely perfect for us to be able to get to the venue quickly. We were within walking distance so it was so nice not to have to worry about parking or Ubers. The hotel itself is beautiful and we were impressed by the cozy but cool feel. Our room was decently sized and the beds were comfortable. The staff at the front desk were very friendly as well as the valet workers. It was just what we needed for a quick night away!

These things were not dealbreakers but our experience on the rooftop bar wasn't the greatest. We were told it was open until at least midnight or 12:30. We arrived before this time but it was very obvious they were already cleaning up and shutting down. Rather than anyone addressing us, we were simply looked at and ignored. It honestly felt pretty rude. Also, two in our party did not love the pillows on the bed. According to them, they were too "short" and soft. Personally, I thought they were fine.

Very clean and lively. Loved the restaurant and bar attached. Location was great for what we were doing. "The loop" or the street it is located on has a bunch of shops, restaurants and activities that we enjoyed.

The parking was nerve-wracking l. Not enough security cameras or coverage. When we checked out there were several vehicles that were broken in to.

Moonrise is always an excellent stay--very spacious, clean rooms, with nice practical and asesthetic touches. If you don't want to pay for Valet parking, you can park for free the next lot over--just another 50 yard walk or so.

Moonrise has a very quirky, fun vibe, but this borders on unprofessionalism at times. The front desk is hit and miss in terms of properly greeting guests with a helpful smile. It is often cluttered with papers and boxes fully open to view. The valet parkers and security people are hanging out on their phones in the lobby or chatting with different folks. It's impossible to distinguish them from other hotel guests are people who've come in off the street!

location on loop can't be beat. quirky fun personality. fitness center. restaurant on site tho tons in area. amazing folks at reception. great showerhead, nice linens.

felt like this place needs deep clean/powerwashing. it's clean-ish, just not the sparkling clean you want at hotel. pillows all hard and huge. no bathroom fan or low bathroom lights. (one switch) requested high room 4 weeks in advance and placed on 2nd flr above dumpster.

The Moonrise is always my family's choice when visiting St. Louis.

We stayed on a higher floor than we have in the past and on a Friday night, the noise from the rooftop bar was challenging to sleep, we had an early morning flight on Saturday, so in the future, if I need to be up early, I'll request a lower floor. The noise from the roof has never been a problem during any of our previous stays there.

This was our second time staying at Moonrise and it was just as enjoyable as the first! The staff is always the greatest and kindest group of people you have ensuring your stay is the best. Highly recommend!!

Nothing! Besides this last stay.. I was too shy to ask if we could be on a higher floor! We had stayed on the 7th floor our first visit and then on the 2nd for our second visit. I just personally like looking out the windows and seeing everything be super tiny.

Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. It was also within walking distance to The Pageant which was the reason for our stay at Moonrise.

When we arrived at our room around 5 pm dirty dishes were setting out in the hall at two different rooms. We left around 6pm for dinner and our show at the Pageant-they were still in the floor. When we returned from our show (around 10pm) still there. When we left the following morning- still there. As we checked out we informed the desk clerk that we really enjoyed our stay but, there are dishes out in the hall that really need to be taken care of. He assured us he would contact someone

Very cute & thought out hotel. Nice information book in room of hotel & area. Private parking was great. Moon no longer spins but aesthetic still very nice. It was a great rooftop experience with seating & skyline viewing. Felt safe with key card being needed to enter staying floors on the elevator.

Parking lot needs labeled better. Restaurant menu was confusing as to which one to use when looking ahead online. AC kept turning itself down to 69, although I did not reach out & complain.

The location was excellent. It was right next to her to the concert venue we were attending. The decor was outstanding.! I love the nostalgia of it all.

There wasn’t much of anything that I disliked about the property at all. There was a couple of little things in the room that were dirty just a couple of smudges on some pictures and a little bit of crud in one corner inside the doorway, but other than that, I was completely satisfied.
