I'd stayed at the La Quinta during a previous visit to Bloomington several months ago, and I chose to stay again because I had been so happy with the prior stay. I was in the area as one leg of a trip around the southeast and midwest to explore interesting road bike trails and to visit friends. I stayed for a total of four nights, and every day I was pleasantly surprised at the friendliness of the staff, the well-maintained facilities, and the cleanliness of my room (which, unlike any of the other hotels I used on this trip, included housekeeping each day of my stay). The hotel is located near an exit/entrance to Interstate I-69 and there are a number of good restaurants nearby. It is also located in a way that allows easy access to some of the places in southern Indiana you might choose to visit (e.g., Monroe Reservoir, McCormick's Creek State Park, Spring Mill State Park, Brown County State Park, etc). It's far enough from campus and the college-downtown to be peaceful, but Bloomington is small enough that getting to campus and the night life associated with it is still easy. I didn't try the breakfast during my stay, but it smelled good and the coffee (available 24-hours) was really quite good!

After staying in different hotels for several weeks across the country, if we could have stayed here longer, we would have. It was fantastic! The staff was amazing, super friendly and welcoming, the decor of the hotel was new and freshly done, and clean. The hallways and elevator were clean. The downstairs check in area looked like a great meeting area to visit with other guests or larger groups of people with lots of couches and sitting areas. Our room was spacious, and my family enjoyed it the most out of our whole trip. We did laundry and I was thrilled there were two washing machines and two dryers, that were clean and didn't smell bad. The hotel was conveniently located to food, shopping, interstate, and attractions, and felt to be in a safe area. Parking was great, and the outside grounds were clean and nicely landscaped. You could tell the staff felt good working in such a nice hotel.

The fact we only had time to stay one night!

Cleanliness, staff efficiency and helpfulness, comfortable accommodations, quiet. The breakfast was nice, good variety and great coffee!

Upon entering to check in, the fragrance was overwhelming, possibly piped through air ducts? For an asthmatic, it was too strong and uncomfortable to my lungs. Much less noticeable on the 3rd floor and in my room. One thing I missed having in my room were real coffee cups and half & half creamer. Powdered creamer is horrible.

Proximity to interstate and family.

Rude person in the desk at check in. He said I only prechecked in for one of the two rooms we booked. (Through a link I was sent by Booking.com) He treated me like a child, and told me he almost cancelled my second room. He almost called me. (I had given 8pm as our eta, at pre-check-in and we arrived about 8:05pm. ) Additionally the elevator and our floor reeked of weed. I’ve stayed at this same hotel multiple times and have never had an experience like that.

First thing noticeable was everything (the room, the lobby) smelled CLEAN and actually was very clean as well! The room was perfect for the amount spent and hit all the basic marks you’d want for a room. Bed was very comfy and the shower had amazing water pressure! Also plenty of parking in the parking lot! Will definitely stay here again!

My only complaint was the microwave in the room had such a bright LED display that it lit up half the room. Made sleeping difficult till we unplugged it.

The room: modern, very spacious, great bathroom, very comfortable large bed, imagine even 2 TVs. Staff absolutely helpful, over and above! Lobby very nice, comfortable, and spacious. Free outdoor parking.

Breakfast is bare minimum! WiFi speed slow and reception choppy. They also has some sites blocked (such as Booking.com!)

The staff members we encountered were exceptionally nice. The breakfast was great and exceeded our expectations for an included breakfast. It's a small hotel so getting in and out with our luggage and pets was easy.

The in-room coffee is the only negative I can think of, but it was barely a negative because they offer very good, fresh coffee all day in the lobby.

they put a hold on your credit card for 1 night of your stay several days before check in and also deduct the whole room stay when you check out when questioned why there is still an additional room charge I was told it falls off 48-72 hours after check out , this should be disclosed and why? they should just include this as night 1 of Stay instead of taking an additional night and holding that on your card for several days and not tell you that is not right

Location was great... Right of the interstate. The staff were very friendly. The lobby and breakfast areas were very clean. Breakfast was great

The rooms were pretty clean. The beds and bathroom was clean, but probably the stuff that doesn't get cleaned every time needed attention.... Headboards needed dusted and wiped. Window and window sill need cleaned

Well kept, spacious room. Comfy bed and clean spaces. Breakfast was good and above my expectations. Service was friendly, correct and short - that's how we like it.

The shower was extremely slippery and the glass door doesn't shut completely making water spill out to the bathroom floor while you shower.
