If you are looking for perfectly manicured gardens and sleek modern facilities of perfection, this isn’t it. If relaxed bohemian style with colorful and surprising gardens, backed by a beautiful park, then this is for you. However, the actual room was modern and perfect. The room had real glasses and coffee cups. I absolutely loved that. Same with the breakfast. There were disposable dishes available for anyone who wanted to take their drinks and breakfast to go. I really enjoyed looking around the garden, but unfortunately it was unbearably hot and muggy out during my stay, so I didn’t sit out and enjoy them as much as I wanted. I’ll have to come back during better weather. The staff were friendly and very helpful. There is a bar on the premises, I didn’t go, but I hear it’s a local favorite hang out. I really wish I could share more than 4 photos. This was the perfect model for us.

My door kind of stuck. I had reserved a garden view room but ended up with a view of the wall. HOWEVER , there was a reason for this placement, I can’t remember exactly why this room was deemed best, but I was traveling with my tween daughter who is on the spectrum and had been having a really tough time. I don’t actually remember exactly what was going on with her that night, but it was at the end of a six week road trip, and things were tough. There was something about the placement of this room that was better than others available.

I had a room that faced the back of the property. It was nice and quiet back there. It rained a couple of the days of my stay, and it was pleasant to hear rushing water from in the woods behind the Inn. There were chairs provided for us to enjoy the sounds while under a covered area. They had an inviting courtyard with grill availability. I hate that I didn't have enough time to enjoy it, but it was a nice amenity.

While the property was a nice rustic ambiance, I think they may could have improved the landscaping a little bit.

A great value with friendly staff and more than decent coffee in the morning. We enjoy walking among the native landscaping and playing some corn hole while at the hotel, although we rarely spend much time there when we stay. It is close to parks, downtown, and the IU campus. The room was clean enough and comfortable enough. Some chronic issues like mildew in the shower and a toilet seat that did not fit securely were the only downsides. Really enjoyed the new flooring that is much more clean than the old carpet.

Cascades is perfect for my needs. It’s an overnight stay in a quaint setting. I love the courtyard with all the plants. The breakfast is continental so no hot foods ( packets of oatmeal the exception). I don’t drink coffee but I did hear someone say the coffee was really good. Room felt clean. Bed was comfortable and I don’t say that too often .

Rooms that have been remodeled are showing a little wear and tear. Sink water was not going down and this happened the last time I stayed there. Maybe that’s just because the plumbing is old??

Property was well maintained and I loved the updated old motel feel. Mid century entryway has been preserved and the updated lobby is cute and inviting. The staff was wonderful and the place was very clean and comfortable.

Would like to see the shower heads updated and the furnishings in the rooms changed a bit to match the midcentury vibe. The furnishings were outdated, but they were all very clean and I was happy to have a cute place to stay for a great price!

I appreciated the comfort of the room, the friendly staff and most of all, the reasonable price on a weekend when every other place in town was price-gouging for all they were worth!

Found a few more random hairs in the bathroom area than is probably ideal (but I'm a biologist -- takes more than that to scare me!). Also, we were directed to one room number, but given the key to another. Hope no one was in the first room while I was cursing and trying to use my key card....

Literally everything! The staff was great, it was clean, they had a bunch of games in the lobby you could take to your room to play and the bed was so comfy! Probably the best we have ever slept. I'm not going to lie, I was a little nervous because of the price, but we will definitely be back! It was great! We really want to experience the garden in the summer!

The only "complaint" would be the breakfast. there were very limited options. Nothing hot. We ended up going out to eat for breakfast, but that's because we wanted a hot breakfast. The options are toast, bagels, ooatmeal, yogurt and cereal. So, if you want a hot breakfast, plan on going out to eat. I'm not saying it was bad, just not what we wanted.

We stayed in the king room with kitchnett. It has ample space for two to be comfortable. Our stay was 7days. We used the kitchenett, there is pot, pan, and cooking utensils. Bed was comfortable. Continental breakfast was satisfactory. Live music at the bar was quite excellent and should not be missed. Staffs were super helpful. The courtyard was a nice place to rest and appreciate a glass of wine with cheese at sun down.

The burner was old and dirty and emitted burn smell when turned on for use. Kitchen sink drains very slow. For the price per night we think this is a very good value even though the appliances were older. Walls were thin, bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.

Reasonably priced. VERY pleased. What a charming 50’s retro motel! Comfortable and convenient location. Very friendly front desk staff. Room was clean and comfortable. NO SMELLS! NO carpet in this room (vinyl plank flooring). Good Wi-Fi. TV worked fine. AC cranked out the cold air. Good water pressure. Continental breakfast was good. Cute courtyard with fountain. Adjoining Sleeper's Bar was really enjoyable with very reasonable prices.

There is nothing that I did not like.

I knew the Cascades Inn about a decade ago, when I came for a conference. I was a bit worried about the term "motel" as it has negative connotations in other contexts, particularly Mexico. In short, The Cascades Inn is a family-friendly, renovated motel that is now a full-fledged hotel. A short 9 minute Lyft ride from the Sample Gates of Indiana University, it is far enough North to let you be away from the busy areas in the university area, but close enough that you can reach the campus by foot if need be (or if you want). Impeccably clean, superb bed, the wifi improved substantially after the first night. They clean the rooms every third day, which was fine for me. Shower temperature and pressure were fantastic. Comes with a small fridge, a microwave. I have stayed at The Cascades Inn several times and will continue to do so in the future.

I would like to say that I don't find anything poorly done in the Cascades Inn, but perhaps what I would appreciate would be an earlier breakfast (6:00am), and perhaps scrambled eggs (I know, that's actually American breakfast, but whatever). In fact it's a very nice, inexpensive hotel. But that does not detract from the place.
