The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. Loved the location and the little cottage. Loved the service.

Wasn't a huge deal at all but the curtains were really dusty, tops of bathroon vanity light bulbs were nearly black with dust (I cleaned them) and there was no lightbulb in the main room ceiling fan. I didn't ask for one, so that was on us. A light in the closet would have been great and a little upkeep on the door facing of the closet (unit 9) needed done. The bathroom door wouldn't close all the way and there was no door knob to get out of the bathroom. These things didn't bother us really because, overall, we loved it there. However, other folks might be pickier and more particular.

The cottage we stayed in with a king and two queens was wonderfully comfortable for our family of 4. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the bay in the mornings and evenings. It was quiet and serene. It was really lovely being right on the shore.!! The location is convenient in between two towns, but challenging if you want to walk anywhere for a meal. We did not so it was fine for us and we took advantage of the kitchen for making meals! There is a grocery a short drive away that provided what we needed. The staff was super friendly and we really enjoyed our stay in Belfast! We’d recommend and stay here again!!

This place is perched on a hill above the ocean. It appeared that every cabin has an amazing view. The cabins are aging, but well maintained and the grounds are lovely. There is a playground for small kids, some games on the property, a fire pit, but most of all we just sat on our porch and enjoyed the view. It’s a close drive to town and about 1.5 hours from Acadia. I would definitely come back.

I would have loved it if they had onsite laundry but there was a laundry place in town that worked well. Otherwise, there is very little fault this place. As long as you come expecting a place this not brand new then you won’t be disappointed.

We loved that the cottages had everything you could think of. Bright and low lighting. A full kitchen with dishes and cookware. The view was amazing. Fireplace, ac/heat in each room, plenty of linens and space for clothes in closet & dresser. Full fridge and cabinet space in the kitchen.

There was nowhere to park down near the water, so someone like me, who is handicapped cannot walk very far to enjoy the beach, campfire, or look for shells, sea glass and rocks. Our cottage was as far from the water as possible on the property, in spite of a gorgeous view. I couldn't walk down the hill around the beach and be able to go back up the hill again. If there was a place to park closer to the shore,it would have been so much better. Maybe a golf cart to bring someone around if needed by request or some parking spots for handicapped down at the lower side of the property.

I was not expecting such a comfortable bed, a large wide screen TV, spacious, comfortable bathtub and such amazing, friendly, supportive customer service from the owners. Also free welcoming candies and cookies, hot coffee in the morning and gorgeous views. As it is the fall, they even had the room warmed up for me before I entered. This place is a total gem. It's not a business/working type of motel/hotel however it's quiet and there is a table to work from so as I was traveling on business I was grateful for this. I have my own hotspot so I did not need to use their wifi but I would imagine it worked well, just like everything else there. Honestly, I had to drag myself out of there in the morning to get going for my research which is why I was in Maine in the first place, but I wanted to stay in the motel up until check out!

The motel is off of the main road, so you will hear the traffic going by if that is something that would bother you. I noticed it, but this did not bother me because I loved the motel so much. Also I think most of the motels are off of the main road so if this would be a problem for you, I think that this motel also has cottages even closer to the beach that you can ask them about.

ALWAYS a wonderful stay at Colonial Gables, have been coming here for many years(several times during each year), and every cottage is lovely. Feels like a second home, so much better than air bnb! It's right off a busy road but you'd never know it, and being on the bay is the most magnificent view, plus the extra breezes off the water. Great location not far from beautiful downtown Belfast, lobster pound, vintage stores, and more. Hosts are always very personable and responsive, much appreciated. Looking forward to my next visit!

With the size room it is and considering the size of the bed, the available floor space was tiny!! The suitcase holder/stand had to be folded up and stored in the closet. Not enough drawer space for 2 people. So clothes were stacked in the floor and put on floor, UNDER the table. Suffice to say; Very, very "cozy." As to what we liked, it would have to be the location and views. Very quaint and cute accommodations. The shuffleboard court, horseshoe pits, and shoreside area are really pleasant.

Everything was just perfect except the pillows. The room was super clean and there was careful detail to the amenities provided. The staff was super nice and who could ask for more than to be on the ocean.

Two couples rented two rooms and all 4 of us agreed that the pillows were way too thick and dense. Although pillows are a personal preference, for all of us to feel that way was pretty obvious. There was an extra shelf where providing medium dense pillows, more flat pillows would have been nice.

The cottage that we stayed in did not disappoint and was very clean. We had stunning views of Penobscot Bay. The sunrises were gorgeous especially from the screened-in porch while sipping our morning coffee. The beds were comfy and we had a patio just off the bedroom. Nice big kitchen with plenty of room! Great location. Our dog loves it there too and could not wait to head to the beach every day.

Nice location, things to do if we had had time. Nice view, really good bathtub safe bathtub, nice people at the office, very clean room, completely new high quality bathroom (done in appropriate style). Nice little porch to sit on for morning coffee, good charging station in room.We loved that the blinds in the door were easy to use and between the panes of glass.

Breakfast of some kind would be great, where it is not in town. The shirt on the hanging rod was hanging almost in the coffee maker.
