This place is perched on a hill above the ocean. It appeared that every cabin has an amazing view. The cabins are aging, but well maintained and the grounds are lovely. There is a playground for small kids, some games on the property, a fire pit, but most of all we just sat on our porch and enjoyed the view. It’s a close drive to town and about 1.5 hours from Acadia. I would definitely come back.

I would have loved it if they had onsite laundry but there was a laundry place in town that worked well. Otherwise, there is very little fault this place. As long as you come expecting a place this not brand new then you won’t be disappointed.

ALWAYS a wonderful stay at Colonial Gables, have been coming here for many years(several times during each year), and every cottage is lovely. Feels like a second home, so much better than air bnb! It's right off a busy road but you'd never know it, and being on the bay is the most magnificent view, plus the extra breezes off the water. Great location not far from beautiful downtown Belfast, lobster pound, vintage stores, and more. Hosts are always very personable and responsive, much appreciated. Looking forward to my next visit!

Nice location, things to do if we had had time. Nice view, really good bathtub safe bathtub, nice people at the office, very clean room, completely new high quality bathroom (done in appropriate style). Nice little porch to sit on for morning coffee, good charging station in room.We loved that the blinds in the door were easy to use and between the panes of glass.

Breakfast of some kind would be great, where it is not in town. The shirt on the hanging rod was hanging almost in the coffee maker.

The carriage house apartment was beautiful. It was clean, spacious, well-appointed and quite comfortable. There was so much storage space. The TV was HUGE! The deck was also lovely for morning coffee. We even got to see a deer!

I can’t say that there was anything we didn’t like. It was so homey and pleasant. Our only suggestion is it would have been nice to have a dining table on the deck to enjoy the beautiful view of the trees while we had breakfast.

Our motel room was very clean, and very tastefully decorated. There would have been a fine view of the bay from our deck, except that it was foggy while we were there. The grounds are very well-kept and attractive. The bed was comfortable, and the WIFI worked well. The only negative was that it was a bit chilly the evening we were there, but the heating mode on the room's split ductless heat pump unit wasn't working. I reported it to the person in the office, and he said he would have it checked out the next day. He then offered the use of a portable radiator heater, and even had one of the staff come over to the room with one and set it up for us... great service.

The room was fresh and recently updated with a nice bathroom, refridgerator, nice sheets, heat pumps. loved the view of the ocean

The cleaning products or air freshner smell was very heavy. For someone who is sensitive to scents, this was hard to handle. Also, the porch furnishing could be upgraded. When you sit in the chairs you can't see the ocean do the railing on the porch. Add a little high top table and chair to make it perfect. Maybe a few flower pots.

We loved being able to see the Penobscot Bay from our cottage. Loved the floral welcome - scented and gorgeous. The staff were very great. John made some very helpful suggestions. The king bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and the kitchenette adequate. I think a few more hooks would be helpful for hanging a robe or jacket. Great jumping off point for going to Camden and Acadia. Downtown Belfast was lovely. Seaport was interesting.

The exterior could use a little love. Barnacles on fence and deck should be power washed off.

This was our second stay here. We came back because of the beach (rocky Maine beach, not sand but not boulders). The water was warm, which is great. This year we stayed in a one-bedroom cottage unit that had a two-burner stove small frig and a deep sink. The size was fine for making breakfast and lunch at the unit. The unit had a 3/4 bath which was fine.

The only issues we had was the King size bed was too big for the room. The built-in dresser had a spare pillow and blanket in it so only one drawer was usable, an issue in the small space.

2nd room was great clean nice drive up.bedding had laundry soap smell so if your sensitive bring your own has a great deck

The first room was full of some kind of perfume I had booked ahead and requested ground floor no perfumes...was first told no other rooms available.when I went in instead of husband and asked if any of the other rooms had not been checked into then they let me switch to one that was not smelly.that switch should have been easy . I had to end up very upset and thinking I had to find another motel before the switch was agreed to.

Very comfy bed ( that's a big plus). Secluded ( on the other side of the road from the main cottage area), private, clean, roomy. Nice patio. You hear some road noise but if you shut the bedroom door it's all quiet, all good. Giant TV has HBO max. Kitchen well equipped. A mile from state park by the ocean, highly recommended for a walk by the ocean. 5 min drive to Belfast.
