you are smack in the middle of the action, but it's relatively quiet. everything the city has to offer in the downtown area can be explored on foot.

at first i thought it's unfortunate that they don't offer breakfast. but there are some nice spots in walking distance for excellent breakfast.

I absolutely recommend The Godfrey Hotel! This was my third time staying here, and even though we ran into a small issue during this visit, the way the staff handled it totally won us over. The management stepped up big time; they really listened, took action, and showed they genuinely care about their guests. You can tell great service really matters here. It meant a lot to us, and honestly, that kind of treatment keeps us coming back. We’ll definitely keep choosing The Godfrey Boston and telling all our friends and family to check it out! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location of hotel perfect. Comfortable bed and linens were very nice. We were upgraded without our asking and had no complaints. We were even given a wonderful bottle of wine. Thanks.

We liked the location, it was right next to the orange and green lines which made it super easy to get around. The room was perfect sized and housekeeping was fantastic.

The shower. I know every hotel thought it would look nice to just put the little piece of glass and that would be sufficient but I loathe showers like this. The floor floods. Every single time. I wasn't even in the shower, I just turned it on to heat up, and it immediately started flooding the flood. I put towels down, but obviously this only does so much. Housekeeping gave us more towels. I wish all these hotels who had the idea to just have this glass panel would add a door to prevent flooding.

Location was perfect for site seeing. The attached coffee house was wonderful and there was a breakfast restaurant around the corner that was very good. Staff was truly the stand out. Everyone was so helpful and in a good mood and seemed to be happy to be there.

On the weekend the restaurant, not sure which one had music and the base carried to our lower floor room. The hotel offered to move us and also gave us gift cards to the coffee shop. The bed and pillows were OK. Might be time for a refresh on the mattress. Regardless, the location and the staff outshined anything negative. Plus how they handled it was not negative. It was a positive experience.

The personnel: they must have a standing order to never say 'no' and the guys at the door are the best - cheery, helpful and not hinting at tipping (but they got it anyway!). The location is also perfect - near the park, and still close to the old center, and quiet. We also have no complaints about the room either. Oh yeah, and we liked that they changed the floor mats in the elevators 3 times a day, to say 'good morning', 'good afternoon' etc.

Only one chair in an executive king room (which also was not as large as the photos make it look). Bar closed too soon for a nightcap.

Service was exceptional. We arrived early and they went out of their way to get us a room about 2.5 hrs before check-in time. Hotel was very quiet with little noise day and night. On check-in we were given a card each for a free drink at the lobby bar. Free snacks in the room also. Bed was firm and very comfortable; pillows were too soft. Large safety deposit box in the room. The hotel was 5 minutes from Boston Common, close to stores, restaurants and The Freedom Trail. We took the silver bus from the airport and then transferred to the red line subway at South Station (both were free), got off at Downtown Crossing and the hotel was 3 minutes walk away. Very convenient.

Pillows were too soft. Everything else was great.

Location couldn’t be better! The Boston Common, the WNDR Museum, shopping, theater and sightseeing all right there. The staff were exceptional! We stay at a lot of hotels in Boston and other cities, and the staff here were friendly, courteous, and actually seem to enjoy their jobs. The doorman Modesto not only assisted with luggage and loose children, but served as translator at the front desk as needed with at least one foreign speaking visitor. The room, lobby and elevators were spotless.

This hotel is in the middle of the theater District so bring your earplugs and find the White Noise app on your phone!

- Top Location in Downtown: next to Boston Common, Summer Street and top shops such as Macy's. - McDonald's, Dublin Donuts, a local Kebab place and a top breakfast cafe within 2-3 mins walking distance - Car Valet available, excellent service for 60 USD a night. Else parking is also available v close. I opted for valet. - they give 2 drinks coupons to be availed in the bar area. - apt location to start Boston Freedom Trail Tour, we did all. - easily accessible to other spots with Uber: Cambridge for Boston and MIT (15 mins), Boston Seafront District (12-15 mins). Loved the whole vibe, checking and checkout ease. Comfortable rooms, coffee machine, toiletries,safe box: all amenities available. All in all - we loved it.

The hotel is located in the heart of the downtown, near theaters, shopping, restaurants, and within walking distance to Boston Common. We were able to walk everywhere and felt safe. It was wonderful having the coffee shop in the lobby of the hotel. The coffee and pastries were delicious! Another bonus was the lobby wine bar. The hotel provided a nightly complimentary glass of wine, which encouraged us to spend more time outside of our room and engaging with others in the lobby area. The room was clean, and we appreciated the complimentary snacks!

There was quite a bit of street noise late at night, but that comes with the downtown location.
