We were fortunate to find India House in our search for a reasonably priced accommodation in support of a scheduled tour of Coskata-Coatue Refuge. Location is a major plus, 2 blocks from the cobblestoned center of Town. From the house, we easily walked to anywhere in Town we liked. Also had ready access by bike to the rest of the island (there is a bike rack). Our host Giuseppe greeted us graciously and warmly. Throughout our stay, he ensured our every need, offering practical guidance regarding planning our day. He also started breakfast early to fit with our plans. Library has floor to ceiling bult-ins filled with antique volumes and leather upholstered couch. We would have wished for more time to explore the library. We breakfasted in the adjacent Dining Room which has gorgeous china displayed in the hutch. In the interests of time and our early morning commitment, Giuseppe prepared for us an ample and satisfying continental breakfast of fruit, croissants and coffee. A steep stair with nautical motif handrail (from a cute landing with more books and coffee machine) led to our upstairs triple. Room is basically one big pillow of comfort, luxurious king on one end and comfy double beds on the other. L-shape layout provides each limb with adequate privacy. Wall installed a/c is whisper quiet. Two umbrellaed outside seating areas one in the backyard, and another on the deck just off the Dining Room. Either would comfortably accommodate afternoon tea.

Forrest was so kind and made everything easy! He was very nice and helpful answering all of my questions before and during our stay. Giuseppe helped us everyday at breakfast (great to have a breakfast everyday), with beach equipment and by keeping our bags at India house before check-in and check-out. The location of India House was great and allowed for easy walking to everything in town! We definitely would stay here again!

It would be helpful to have a restroom for guests to use before check-in and after check-out. But, it was fine.

Very friendly, accomodative staff. Location. Well kept and inviting. The room was good-sized. Quiet despite an otherwise busy street. Forrest and Giuseppe are helpful and responsive to whatever your request. Very old, historic Nantucket home. My wife and I were happy with our stay.

Breakfast of fresh fruits and yogurts was delicious, although we would have liked some some warm items [eggs, etc...]

The hosts were exceptionally hospitable and extremely knowledgeable about the history of the island and were happy to suggest points of particular interest. Breakfast offerings included a wide assortment of fresh fruits, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, various bread items, cereals and beverages - it was a perfect assortment. The central location and proximity to downtown was very convenient and the historical home had been well-preserved and its character honored and respected.

Not much - I had a wonderful visit!

Breakfast was fresh each morning, great selection of fruits and more. Host was readily accessible at all times. Great location, very walkable to most places. Free buses around the island were also available for those destinations not walkable.

Everything about this location was perfect. No complaints from me whatsoever:

The room was beautiful and spacious, with great natural lighting and a beautiful view of the garden. The bed was comfortable and the A/C was very effective and quiet. The backyard was great for our dogs to be able to enjoy the grass. The staff was very welcoming and the value for the stay is unparalleled in the area.

Bed was a bit squeaky.

One of my (new) favorite inns in Nantucket! Have stayed at many over the years, but the hospitality and square footage of the rooms are unbeatable at anywhere near the price. Can’t recommend enough, my mom and I had a lovely time — also location is perfect!

Private garden room with our own entrance. Giuseppe was a wonderful host and had a great spread of fruit and berries, croissants, yogurt and hard boiled eggs to start our days. Very quiet and just 2 blocks from stores and restaurants. It’s a neighborhood gem!

Great hosts. Excellent location. Cute historic house. Clean. Continental breakfast basic but delicious fruit yogurt and granola, hard boiled eggs, toast. Lovely garden.

It was charming and we had our own entrance through the backyard. Awesome!

No parking, but at this time of year the street parking was easy.
