Clean , quiet … 6am complimentary breakfast was just enough . Less than 10 minutes from Hampton beach . The old Salt restaurant that is attached has great seafood , yummy scallops…and the steak tips were delish !!! Everyone was very kind . The only setback was when we checked in we were charged a second time for our stay …we had gone through booking.com so the stay was paid for, but there was a mistake on the hotels part , charging us again …and we had to wait a day to get the credit back . They were very kind to take care of it as soon as they did . I was surprised, though, for the inconvenience that they didn’t offer something … be it dinner on the hotel or dessert …..Anything would’ve been much appreciated given the fact that it was our money being held for a day …, but nothing was offered so that kind of just was surprising to me on their part . If I was the business owner or management I would most definitely had offered a little something for the inconvenience …..It is what it is. We still enjoyed our time .

It’s minor, but I think the showerheads need to be replaced , maybe with a larger head because the water pressure is low so it takes a while to rinse your hair for me anyway . Nothing major and for the elderly I think the toilet should be higher. They’re very low. But like I said nothing major.

The beds were comfortable. The entire place was very clean from what i observed. The night manager was also the building historian and was giving us all sorts of historical info on the facility and the surrounding towns and I could have talked to him all night but I had to get going at one point. We stayed in the room that President Eisenhower occupied once.

The air conditioner in the room would only get the room to a certain point and come back on in intervals but there was no way in the room to verify the actual temp so at times it got a bit too warm. Also, when i booked it stated breakfast included but it ended up being the continental breakfast so the booking description was not accurate.

Everything was wonderful! Lamies Inn was clean, comfortable and the food at the Old Salt tavern was absolutely delicious! We were just passing through for a one night stay on our way from N.E. PA. to Maine and the meal we ate at the Tavern was better then any of the meals we ate in Boothbay and Bar Harbor. Especially the Clam Chouder!

We didn't know that Lamies had a Mid-week special that included the room and Dinner. Booking.com didn't say anything about this when we booked so if you are planning to stay check out Lamies website or call before booking!

I understand the building itself was built in the 1600s and has a very beautiful and unique design. even though modern day additions have been added to the original building I would consider it to be one well worth staying at. Lamies restaurant next store has wonderful seafood nachos and a good wonderful atmosphere. The menu is not expensive either and gives wonderful choices. I wanted to try the surf and turf burger but nachos were a huge plate my wife and I split. The hotel does not have an elevator but the ground floor rooms are accessible even for wheelchairs of a normal size . I was greeted with a smile when entering the front door by not only the check in lady but her little grand daughter as well. I do recommend this place. A continental breakfast is included but it is not a sit down order off the menu one. It is set out buffet style for the hotel guest in the restaurant. I did forget to mention the rooms have updated charging stations.

The staff took initiative to be helpful. From the start: We couldn’t find a parking spot, due to the popularity of the connected restaurant (understandably so: excellent food), and a friendly staff member dropped what she was doing, and took the time to help us snag a spot. Check-in/check-out: extremely easy and efficient. Restaurant cuisine was tasty, fresh and locally sourced. The continental breakfast was neat, tidy, delicious; even purchased a breakfast mug as a souvenir. A perfect place for to split up a very long drive.

This was our 2nd time there, both times we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. This year was our 36th anniversary. The staff is amazing !.The rooms.were.clean and very inviting. The food.at The Old Salt was good and the continental breakfast, with their homemade maple butter was outstanding! We can't wait to return.

Bathroom was a bit small.

The old fashion style and customer service, the location is excellent, and the food at the salt tavern was great.

Breakfast was good but a little on the sweet side, could do with sausages or something savoury.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room had an odd unpleasant smell and since the windows didn't open, no way to air it out. Kristen at the front desk was wonderful. She explained it was the new rugs and switched us to a room with the old rugs. Continental breakfast was good. The attached restaurant is super convenient and serves decent American cuisine.

The windows in the rooms didn't open. The location is good for a stopover, but there's nowhere to walk to shops, restaurants or parks.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Lamie's. Yes, it is an historic building but full of charm and ambience. From the moment we stepped through the door we felt comfortable. Our room was plenty big enough, the beds were comfortable, the water pressure was like having a massage, our room was very quiet and the microwave was very welcome as was the 24 hour coffee facility in the foyer (and it was always hot!) The breakfast is the usual continental style, served in the charming bar area filled with memorabilia. We liked the location too - easy to do trips into Portsmouth and MA. We visited Newburyport and Rockport and had a fantastic time.

I would be grasping at straws to find something negative and the stay was so enjoyable that it would be wrong to pick holes :)
