The Victorian home is beautifully kept and wonderfully decorated. The location is superb, less than a block from the beach and you can walk into town and so many attractions, shops, restaurants all within short walks. The host Joanne was great! I observed her several times spending quality time with her guest when they asked for suggestions or just casual conversation. The breakfasts were delicious; started with fresh fruit followed by a second course of belly filling egg bakes and fresh baked goods. Complimentary bikes were great to use to explore. Many of the guests were three or more repeat guests which is very telling. Highly recommend.
nothing bad to say

Everything about this wonderful stay at Beauclaires was a delight. Joanne our host was so friendly and informative and made everyone feel so incredibly welcome. The property is a typical Cape May style, but with personal touches by our host. The breakfast was something else, huge portions, two courses and every day a different delish delightful homemade fabulous start to the day. Our room was spacious and clean and the views were wonderful. The location is perfect to walk to everything that we needed in Cape May, with the marina for the lobster house a few mins away in a car - we took a cab.
There was NOTHING we didn’t like, apart from leaving off course!

This inn is located in a Beach Block. There's not many historic Cape May inns that are this close to the beach. Washington st. shopping is 2 blocks in the other direction. Each room is different and calling ahead is wise. Room 1 has a clawfoot tub if you want a bath, with a huge wood bedframe. Room 2 is a similar large room but with a 3'X4' shower stall. Room 3 has a king size bed but has a smaller shower stall. We stayed in Rm 6 on the third floor. Queen size bed with 2 wicker rockers and the same spacious shower stall as Rm 2. We had no problem with the sloped ceiling but if you're a pair of 6 footers you will duck to get into the east side of the bed, but not the west side. Rm 5 across the way had a King size bed but a small shower stall. A separate room has a shared mini fridge for everyone. All beds are on floors 2 and 3. The turning staircase to get you there is impressive. Also there are steps up to the front porch if that's an issue. I am not a foodie, but everyone at the table complimented the breakfast. Our room journal was filled with positive food reviews. Breakfast @9am. One choice. You would have to stay about a week before eating the same one twice. I won't tell where to find the smallest porch in Cape May, but it's there and you can go out on it if you've got the nerve.
We have no complaints about our stay. In March it's off season in town so we didn't have the meter issue. There's free off street parking, one spot per room. You will back out of the driveway to get out onto the road. There's meters on the street that are active in-season. There is still free parking in Cape May if you don't mind walking and know where to look for it. There are bikes but we didn't see them, being off season. The breakfast portion is not big, if you're used to the Waffle House. Just an observation. We did not get up from the table hungry.

The B&B exceeded all my expectations! It’s an authentic, exceptional place in itself. The stunning Victorian-style property is impeccably maintained. I was greeted by a remarkable lady who thoughtfully explained everything and handed me the key—she’d anticipated every detail! The room was incredibly charming and filled with history. But the real highlight was breakfast! I joined two delightful couples, and we had the best conversation, thanks to Joanne, the host, who created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, paying attention to every detail. If you’re seeking an authentic and cozy experience in Cape May, this is the place! I met wonderful people, felt completely at home, and would highly recommend it to friends. I’ll definitely be back!

Joanne was an awesome host and very accommodating. Great location to beach, pedestrian mall, restaurants, shopping, groceries, etc. We enjoyed the daily breakfast and noon snacks on the outdoor porch, porch swing, and dining room. Nice landscaping and gardens. Located in the heart of Victorian architectures. We enjoyed the bicycles, courtesy outdoor shower, and off-street parking. Would have preferred a private refrigerator instead of a group share. We had good water pressure on the top most floor. The ocean view was more of a glimpse. We would return.
I thought our king sized bed in the top most gabled room was squeaky.

The host Joanne was really accommodating and welcoming. The house/ property itself was really unique and cozy. I had never stayed in a Victorian style home before. Also the location was top notch. It was right next to the beach and just a 5 min walk to the Washington Street Mall.
The ramp to the driveway was a little steep but I guess that's what I get for owning a low car haha.

Breakfast was excellent! Great quantity of food and it all tasted great! The server was quick and helpful. Good beverages like coffee, orange juice, water, etc. It was served on time and fresh. We had plenty of time to eat and have conversations with our fellow travelers.
The parking lot was small and one-way only. It is necessary to back up to get out. Not a huge deal but advance notice would have been nice.

Have done many trips to Cape May.This B and B was great.Location was amazing.Outside lawn, flowers and porch well maintained.Inside very clean and quiet.24 hr Kuerig which was well appreciated.Breakfast on both mornings were delicious.Another advantage is you are allowed a parking spot on the property-you are so close to everything you don t have to move.
A small individual refrigerator for the room or a bigger frig/freezer on the second floor.

Loved the cozy 3rd floor bedroom! It was very quiet upstairs and had a view of the ocean.. The breakfast was super delicious and our hostess was very accommodating and easy to converse with. She went out of her way to help us hoist our belongings up to our bedroom. Highly recommend this B&B for couples.
Can’t think of anything!

Clean, comfy, convenient. The location is perfect, parking lot a plus. Coffee very good, and served breakfast nice. Loved Joe, the proprietor, he was great!
The breakfast was very good, but after having stayed at other B&B’s I would have preferred a choice. The Mexican style egg casserole was good, but not everyone likes that type of breakfast. A hash brown/ cheese egg casserole might appeal to more people. My daughter does not eat meat, so she did not need the bacon. Sometimes a pastry or bagel is all you need! It was early in the season, so all this may change in a few weeks. Also, we would have enjoyed “tea” at 3-4 o’clock with again, a pastry or savory/ sweet snack. Keurig is not good for tea, as hot water tastes like coffee!
