We had a wonderful stay—this hotel truly exceeded our expectations! Everything was spotlessly clean, incredibly cozy, and spacious. The layout was well thought out, offering both comfort and convenience. We especially appreciated the private parking and easy access to the property—the instructions for check-in were clear and made getting in a breeze. The beautiful common area living room was a standout — warm and inviting, with a corner desk that made it easy to get some work done during our stay. One of our favorite features was the 24-hour access to the kitchen, perfect for making coffee. And the location couldn’t be better — Duck Mike’s is right across the street, making breakfast easy and delicious. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-located place to stay!

Excellent location. Tasteful decor. No breakfast available, though the coffee making facilities and fresh oranges for juicing very nice. Tasteful sitting area, which would be enhanced if guests could control the air-con in that area - one day it was too cold to sit in there.

Disappointing, given the price, that after 4 days of a 10-day stay we had to ask for our bedding to be changed, and there was no offer to sweep our floor, clean our bathroom, or empty our bins for the duration of our stay. Perhaps not many guests stay for 9 nights. Perhaps guests should be made aware these are 'on demand' services, who knows. Initially we had issues connecting to the wi-fi, and when I contacted the owners they simply sent me an email re-iterating the logon details. Nowhere did it suggest if you can't connect to 'Buttonwood' try 'Buttonwood Cottage' - same password, which fixed the frustrating problem. Also our air-con in suite 1 was unreliable.

Cutest hotel in a great location! On the morning of our stay we received a text from the owners with information for contactless/keyless entry, free parking on site, as well as information about the beach, local transportation, and restaurants. When you arrive, you walk into a common area and sun room with a coffee bar and juicer. They also have a fridge with parfaits and fresh juices (included in your stay). In addition, you will find beach tags and beach chairs in your room. The property is decorated beautifully and every little detail is thought out! Highly recommend!

The amenities were lovely, the decor was beautiful, the bed is comfy, and the location was perfect.

Check-in instructions for after hours needs a bit more clarification. You cannot see the side door in the dark, so difficult to know exactly how to find it, if you should be walking around that part of the house, if there is even a walkway, etc. Thankfully, another guest was sitting in the front porch and helped us inside. There is a humming noise in my room, which I assumed was the washing machine or dryer on the other side of the wall, but it was quite noticeable and disturbing to me. There is also a bright light outside my window which prevents my room from being dark enough to sleep. I would recommend blackout shades or some other form of window covering for that room.

There was no breakfast. Nice place clean Need more outlets in the room. The price is high in my openion with no breakfast included and no staff on premises. It is more of an airbnb rather than being advertised as a boutique hotel there is no amenities or services to be called a boutique hotel.

I do believe that it should be labeled as an Airbnb rather than a boutique hotel a boutique hotel has many services on the premises. This is just basically rooms so very nice but the labeling of it is a little misleading..

Such a lovely, well appointed property, centrallly located in West Cape May. The tool and common areas were immaculate, amenities such as nespresso coffee and juicer conveniently provided and very good toiletries. My friend and O had such a great time and even had an amazing champagne-social with a few of the other guests by the fire in the living room. Perfect in every way. We will definitely return!! Everything! Location, cleanliness, everything seemed new and fresh. The bed was a dream, slept like angels!

We were in town for a wedding. It was our first visit to Cape May and we weren't sure where to stay. We were so happy to have picked the Buttonwood. The owners were easy to get in touch with and very flexible. It was unexpectedly luxurious! The room was beautifully done and very comfortable. There were beach chairs and towel had we had time to go to the beach. The common areas had complimentary beverages. The hotel was across the street from an amazing pancake restaurant. We will definitely be back!

This property was stunning. The grounds, the home, everything was beautiful. My room was so pretty and spacious and the bed was comfortable. Bathrooms were super cute! I thought the Smeg juicer was an excellent touch. I loved how the home was decorated- very elegant but beachy.

For the price it would have been nice to have a breakfast.

Exceptional decor, very clean, nice location off the beach but close enough to everything. Very nice entrance, living room and sun room. Dedicated parking space for our room. Casually elegant and quiet.

No one cleaned our room or offered fresh towels over our three night stay, so it's a bit overbilled as a "Botique Hotel." Our room (#2 on the first floor) was very small and had no chair. Bed had "wings" on the headboard which look nice, but not very practical in such a small space - we kept banging into them. If we had it to do over again would only go if one of the larger rooms were available.

Lovely restored historic home. Small scale, only 7 or 8 rooms. Ideal location, convenient walking distance to downtown shopping, dining and the beach.

Staff were nowhere in sight during our stay, reflected by scant supplies in refreshment center (water, ice, juice, etc.) Admittedly, this is a boutique hotel with mostly self service. Just be aware of/ prepared for this limitation. While obviously aspiring towards the trendy (younger/affluent) travellers, please pay attention to the likes/wishes of older/staid guests....a small example: the expansive (&expensive?)array of herbal teas offered were great, but left plain old black or breakfast tea drinkers like me out in the cold. Get a box of Lipton...its passe, but some of your guests still drink it!
