We decided to stay then night last minute and this location was very accommodating. The friendly service at the front desk was welcoming and he got us settled into rooms right away. The location was perfect for a nice stay in Manteo and fit the needs of our large family nicely. For the peak season and two rooms rooms last minute, we could not have asked for a better stay.

The only thing I would add is more modern light fixtures that allow you to charge devices. The alarm clocks did have USB plugs but with all phones switching to the newer type c chargers, we needed different plug options.

Scarborough Inn was charming & conveniently located. The room was not your typical corporate hotel room. It had a charming iron headboard w old picture prints on the wall & interesting lamps. It was like staying with a local. It had the modern elements too - a large shower w handrails - that I loved - in a generously sized bathroom. In the living area there was a sink & mirror, microwave, mini frig, & surprisingly an air fryer that I learned to used and loved. There was a cozy sitting area w cable TV and a table made from a pedal powered sewing machine like my grandmother used! There were hooks AND towel rack in bath, a coat rack by the door & hanging rack for clorhes w overhead shelf. PLUS there were windows all around to let the sun shine in! Almost forgot the wonderful front porch with chairs. It was walking distance to the boardwalk by the sound to historic downtown where there is a small marina, lighthouse, historic replica of first colonists ship, historical museum, walking tour of Colonial settlement and many interesting places to shop and eat! Just a short drive on the island is the maritime museum, aquarium, Elizabethan gardens & the Lost Colony theater! This was a treasure trove of discoveries. ALSO, a short drive across sound is the beach to enjoy to your hearts content. A walk in the AM on the beach I saw a dolphin pod swimming by and pelicans diving for food. On the outer banks one can explore from Currituck lighthouse on north banks to taking the ferry across to Ocracoke Island w a Pirates museum in the southern most part of banks.

The only issue was a small one - the air/heating unit is a bit noisy when running.

The property is quiet, nice and convenient. There is a 7 eleven convenience store within walking distance and a shell on the other side of the inn within walking distance as well, the grocery stores out here are a bit expensive but dollar general is right next door. The parking available by each room is a plus as well as the little deck area, my son and I spend some time on the deck area of our little unit.

Staff is hard to get in touch with whether through messaging or call, they don’t answer, housekeeping is very friendly.

Definitely the best value hotel in Manteo. The king room was way larger than I was expecting, and while everything had that vintage look, it was all very clean and felt comfortable. The location is a little far to walk to downtown manteo, however there are multiple food and grocery options within walking distance.

My only complaint is that the room had a large mini-split A/C system that was very loud, and never quite fully cooled the room down in the heat of the summer.

The room was clean, comfortable and centrally located to all the stuff we wanted to do. Loved the porch time sitting out and enjoying our morning coffee/tea and reading before starting the day. Even though the cleaning lady couldn't speak English, she used her translator and we were able to communicate and get what we needed to make our stay a positive experience. If we go back next year, we'll probably stay here but request a first floor room.

The air conditioning couldn't keep up with the humidity level and the room stayed damp (but it was a very hot week), One small thing from the female perspective: there were no pictures on the walls so room seemed a little impersonable.

Room was modestly furnished and exceptionally clean. temperature control was easy to understand and use. Bed, pillows, and linens were lovely.

there were no hangers or places to "hang" clothes. the Shower curtain was too short, so when taking a shower the floor outside the tub was full of water. Had to use several towels to dry the floor around the shower. PLease note I did not rate the staff, since I met none of the staff. check-in was handled by a telephone call. Would like to have heard a little about the area.

The electric car charger was an unexpected luxury that really saved us. The room was clean, and the manager was very nice.

I have a peeve with squeaky bed frames. Ours had some brass fittings that were loose and rattled with most movement. The AC unit didn't seem to hold true to the set temperature, so we woke up sweating or cold many times. This could have definitely been user error.

Easy in and out. Walking distance to many delicious food options. Helpful and friendly front office staff. Will stay again!

There was a bit much standing water with a sump pump and the electrical cord sitting in the water. Was kinda concerned about electrocution, but the breaker was thrown because the pump wasn't running.

The room was very nice and clean. The location was nice.

Check in was a bit unusual, slightly complicated and cold. The only complaint was that the towels smelled stale. I literally rewashed my face after using one of the towels to dry with. It smelled like it either needs some bleach or was left sitting wet in the washer too long.

Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Good location for food and attractions. Would stay there again when in the area.

Did not like the automated check in. Really like having a live at desk on property. Did not like the tub/shower, it got slick when wet and soapy.
