We absolutely loved our stay at The Almondy Inn. From the moment we arrived (a bit later than expected due to traffic), everything felt easy and welcoming. Shelby and Jerome were incredibly warm and communicative—when we arrived, there was a thoughtful note waiting for us and clear instructions for letting ourselves in. The inn itself is beautifully appointed—upscale, spotless, and full of charm. Our room was gorgeous and so comfortable. You can tell real care has been put into every detail. Breakfast was another highlight—delicious, fresh, and served with such gracious hospitality. It felt like a true treat to start the day. And you truly cannot beat the location. Highly recommend and would absolutely stay here again!

My wife and where absolutely amazed and enjoyed a memorable time during our stay at the Almondy Inn. The Inn is fantastic with excellent rooms and great location. But even better than the Inn are the Innkeepers - Jerome & Shelby. From reaching out prior to our arrival, through the departure they took time to go through all the features of the Inn and were so helpful in helping us navigate the surrounding Newport area which is full of history and sites to see. I think the best way to articulate our stay that with Jerome & Shelby it felt like family and the Inn felt like home. In addition, while this is small Inn (with 5 rooms and a 6th that is occupied part time by the owners) we met many wonderful people that were guests of the Inn during our 4-day stay. The breakfast time was special as it allowed us converse and compare notes on local activities and share stories our home areas. And the homemade breakfast was outstanding and really was a great way to start a busy day of exploring Newport.

The parking was a little tight but Innkeepers Jerome and Shelby were great at helping you park

Very cute and cozy property in the perfect location to take in every aspect that Newport has to offer. Within walking distance to endless amounts of local shopping and restaurants. The inn keepers were very knowledgeable of the area and were helpful and willing to give suggestions for planning daily activities. Each day started with a delicious, wholesome breakfast prepared by the inn keepers who always asked for input about what we would like to have. And each evening we enjoyed wine and cheese with the inn keepers who offered great company and conversation.

I really loved everything about my stay here so the only complaint I can think of is the lack of room for parking and the small parking lot but this didn’t take anything away from my enjoyment of my stay at the inn.

The Almondy Inn is warm, inviting and cozy. The innkeepers John and Laurence take great care in attending to all of your needs. They put their heart into making this inn the best it can be. Laurence prepares delicious breakfasts with included fresh pastries, coffee, mimosas and provides hot chocolate chip cookies each day. She pays attention to every detail at the inn. John is equally as attentive and caring. He is friendly and a great help to telling you about places of interest and where to eat in Newport. Their nightly wine and cheese gathering is an added bonus to get to know them and the other guests on a more personal level. The rooms are well appointed and updated. A truly wonderful experience staying here.

It was so cold when we went- I wish i had chosen a room with a fireplace for this purpose.

The breakfasts were amazing and beautifully presented as well. Shelby was very attentive and great company. The room was beautiful and the bed exceedingly comfortable. John was an excellent and affable host.

The room was not cool enough even with 2 windows open. The bathtub was uncomfortable (too long, no comfortable way to rest my head-maybe it was intentioned for two ) and the tub filled slowly with the handle difficult to reach. These were minor inconveniences when compared to how well I was treated and my overall comfort.

I read many reviews for different places to stay in Newport leading up to our proposal vacation. We usually stay in a hotel but the wonderful reviews for the Almondy Inn and the hope for a romantic stay led me to try something different and book a bed and breakfast. It turned out to be the best booking I ever made. Many reviews noted how great the innkeepers John and Laurence were during their stay. Not only did they meet those expectations, but they exceeded in every way. John was helpful literally seconds after walking in the door by talking about the plans for the proposal with me and helping me verify the proposal plan his vast knowledge of the area. Both John and Laurence were helpful throughout our stay by offering great ideas for places to enjoy dinner and sights to see. They also were amazing hosts during Laurence’s amazing breakfasts and during any time of the day when we needed anything at all. The location of inn was also great. So many shops and restaurants were in walking distance. We stayed in the Blue room which was very clean and cozy. The aesthetic of the inn and quietness were also very welcome. I vehemently recommend the inn for anyone looking for a great place to stay in Newport. We could not have asked for a better place to stay during such a wonderful weekend in our lives that we will never forget

The hosts are amazing, they make you feel home from start to finish. They are very knowledgeable of the area and gave us great suggestions as first time visitors to Newport. Breakfast is so yummy, we had to leave before breakfast our last day and they made us coffee early and a fresh baked pastry to go. The location is visitor friendly, we walked everywhere. The room is clean and beds are so comfortable. We can’t wait to go back and stay again, it was a wonderful stay in Newport.

I can’t think of anything we did not like.

This was an amazing B&B experience. Many thanks to Laurence and John who have been excellent hosts. They were very friendly and gave us many good advices to make the most of our two days in Newport. The room was great and very comfortable. It was also very practical as it was divided in two parts, one with a bed and one with a sofa bed, which was really great to have intimacy for everyone (3 people total). The breakfast was delicious and the wine and cheese moment very appreciated as it was the opportunity to discuss with them and with other guests.

Only drawback was the noise from the bar down the street. The windows overlook the back of a very noisy bar with music until quite late on the weekend. Earplugs are supplies by the B&B (unfortunately it was not enough for me, but the other 2 slept well so it depends on the people).

Laurence and John are hands down the best part of the Almondy! They will give you all the tips and map out the perfect places to enjoy the beautiful town of Newport. The highlight was daily wine and cheese at 5pm.. sitting there for hours chatting with John, Laurence, and all the other lovely guests. I'd be remiss to forget mentioning about Laurence's Parisian brekky..so decadently divine, delicious and made with the utmost care (WOW the almond croissant and french toast yummm). They also accommodated food restrictions we had. We were offered mimosas for brekky too. The room we were in (Lanai Suite) reminded me of a royale's room. The ceilings were high with a plush, thick carpet. Although the decor was antique, the entire suite was extremely clean and well-kept (ie no stains/nicks on the carpets and walls). My husband realized he left his wallet on the shelf when we had already checked out and were 2 hours on the road. John located it and graciously shipped it back to our address, was in our possession within 48 hours. Can't say anymore about the hospitality!

The Lanai Suite would've been perfect with 3 people, however we had an additional guest come last minute so 4 was a bit tight- John did forewarn us of this a few days before check-in. Additionally, while the actual mattress on the pull-out was comfortable memory foam, the actual pullout frame was a little sunken in in the center with one pillow a bit flat. I am nitpicking though, the numerous positives vastly outweigh this (and next time we will book our own separate room at the Almondy so we can try out another room :-)).

I absolutely loved staying here. It exceeded our expectations in every way. Jerome and the staff were wonderful and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome to Newport and the property. I 100% will stay here any time I am visiting. The location is also unbeatable and the view from the room of the water and boats was amazing to wake up to each morning. I was so so so Impressed with this stay!!
