It was convenient to everything we wanted to do. The bedding was very comfortable.
We stayed on the 4 th floor. The elevator only went to the 3rd so we had to get off on the 3rd and walk a long way to another elevator to go to the 4 th floor. The lighting in the bathroom wasn’t very good. Hard to see putting on make up. The Little Palm Restaurant wasn’t very friendly. They always said we needed reservations even though we were hotel guests. They would eventually seat us but they acted like they didn’t want to. When this happened there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. Strange!

The hotel has such a "cool vibe," very retro, beach, chic. We had the unexpected pleasure of discovering two large outdoor rooms for lounging, eating, and drinking. I knew there was a small pool, but didn't know about the rest.
The hotel is a bit confusing to navigate, with limited entrances/exits. Our room was the last one (346) at the end of three long hallways; the most convenient door in the stairwell that led to the pool was often locked. The pool does get crowded, so if you want a lounger you have to get there very early, which doesn't always suit the schedule.

The Ryder hotel was in a great location, super walkable to all main "attractions" of Charleston. Also loved renting the bikes and riding around the charming neighborhoods. The pool / bar area was really nice to, and we enjoyed getting a drink at the bar and lounging on the daybeds.
Our room was pretty dark (not really any natural light at all) but luckily not a major issue since we didn't spend much time in the room. Also one of the days we were there, they were setting up for an event and therefore had to take all the pool area furniture away (which wasn't ideal given there was no notice of that happening).

Great location!! Sanford at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating! Free WIFI!
Twice out of a four night stay our room was not cleaned, even after reminding the front desk after we returned from excursions. A charge to the room had the tip increased beyond what was given. They had a small pool area and we could not get any spot by the pool without paying to use the seating. Approximately 40% of pool seats you had to pay to use, even though you are staying at the hotel!

The pool was a nice touch, especially during the hot and humid month of July. However, we did not know until the last day that you had to reserve the area with the couches and umbrellas next to the bar. That information would have been nice to know upon arrival. We enjoyed the relaxed vibe of the hotel, and the coffee shop at the front was awesome!
There’s not a refrigerator or microwave in the room, and there’s only one chair in addition to the bed.

I was initially traveling alone and became nervous. A friend ended up joining me but your hotel gave me the comfort to know I could have and will travel alone! Everything was amazing! Location, accessibility, staff, food, pool, drink, coffee… all of it! All the accommodations. Cleanliness and comfort as well. I will stay again and recommend for sure!
I think our first night we were hungry at 11:00 and just wanted to hit a vending machine for a snack. I know a vending machine doesn’t fit into the decor so we just made sure we had snacks the rest of the time we were there!

the valet and front desk person were very welcoming. the hotel is a manageable size. they have coffee available in the morning and if you want something fancier they have an in-hotel coffee bar. They are close to a lot of the hot spots. very easy to walk everywhere (which is why we chose them). it was very quiet except the dumpster on Saturday a.m. (our room overlooked it) but VERY clean. and the room service was a pleasant surprise.
VERY expensive. We were there for a conference (SEWE) and expected to pay but got nothing really worth the extras. and our room looked over the back alley garage. beware the taxes in Charleston are very extensive (already knew this) but on top of that and the $50/day parking fee was the $29/day fee to use their bikes/skateboards/towels etc. NOT applicable for us and not really appreciated. the restaurant was ok. too cold for the little pool. So it met our needs but in no way exceeded. Oh, and if you want a mini-fridge they don't keep them in the room. you have to ask.

Loved the hotel central location and the decor. This is a very nicely designed hotel. Rooms were comfortable, and everything looked new. The service was great.
The gym was in another hotel. At the end I paid a ton of money for three separate rooms for my party of 5. We took king bed single room, another king bed and then a double room with two queen beds. I did not expect that one night, in a 3 star hotel will end up this expensive. But maybe this is just Charleston at the peak of the season.

Location was great for the downtown area. Hotel is truly pet friendly, including the patio restaurant. They even provided a small refrigerator for our fur baby's meds. Staff was extremely friendly.
It is in the middle of the city, but it would have been nice to have a small green space on property to walk the dog and a waste receptacle to take care of the result.

Style and design. Newly renovated and modern. Staff, including valet parking staff were very friendly and accommodating. Had a large ice chest and valet guys helped bring it inside the property.
Room A/C system would not go below 70 even when setting thermostat to 68. Humidity made it feel ‘hotter’. Our room was also right off the pool/bar. Noise level was a little high but not unbearable. Also, the check-in/ front desk is on the second floor from street level. Hotel did. It have an elevator available from street level but did have one from 2nd floor to 3rd floor. Upon check out there wasn’t any coffee available in the lobby and k-cup machine didn’t have any water. After waiting 10 minutes for someone to address, decided to leave and grab coffee elsewhere.
