Love the room on the beach. Beds were great.

Needs updated—spa bath with giant steepover to get in. Change room set up with bath door? Halls were dirty looking old carpet or floors that need painted. Other hotels in area are more updated. This could use a makeover.

Very nice clean room, beautiful view Was happily surprised to find kitchen supplies and dishes available to us. Bed was cozy and clean. They also had free laundry facilities if desired to use them.

Staff was unsure if pool was cleaned, or being cleaned. We asked if it was open and was told it might be. Pool had orange cones around it so decided not to use it. We were told we could go across the street to use another motel's pool but it was 46° out. I wasn't taking my baby out into the cold, across the street to swim. Only to have to come out, wet in the cold to return to our room.

Wonderful, quiet location near nice restaurants. Easy to walk the area. We enjoyed renting bikes as well. Nice balcony and great ocean view. My husband worked at the "kitchen" table for several days quite comfortably and really enjoyed that view, while I enjoyed the beach. (Haha!) The desk staff was EXTREMELY helpful and friendly, especially Jonathon. Breakfast was pretty good, though not well staffed when we were there.

Main complaints are fairly minor: cramped parking garage is best only for small cars- but there IS on-sight parking; kitchen space is tight with the standing counter parallel to the stove/sink/fridge- but there IS a kitchen space, and it's fairly well equipped; bathroom really tight for larger people. Very disappointed they advertise that they have beach chairs to lend, but there was only one low one that my small, short frame could be comfortable in, and it was usually checked out. The taller camp chairs just don't work for me. We would have brought our own but since they supposedly had them, we didn't. That should be an easy, inexpensive fix that would surely be much appreciated by guests.

Room was really small. Problem was the bath area. It was open inside of the room. So make sure you are going with you spouse or girlfriend. Because shower won't give you any privacy. :) Shower tap was broken, microwave worked sometimes and mostly horrible is the parking. Garage is so tiny and small that everytime you go up or down, you will have a fear that it's gonna scratch you car. You don't get any daily room service. If you stay more than 8 days, you will get a complementary room service, that's what we have been told from front desk.

This is our fourth year here. There has been so much upgraded security done with the property that is much appreciated!!!

How our booking.com room did not match the actual hotel booking when we arrived. They gave us a room with 1 king bed a microwave and no kitchen for almost a week..then, We ended up with a room with 2 double beds, which is not ok when we need at least a queen, or king bed. Also, being concerned with not being able to check in on time for rooms not being ready. I am handicapped and the biggest thing is having direct beach access. The beach access door was blocked off for painting, making me have to walk around the building and I can hardly walk from beach access door. Something that could of been done on off peak time. The TVs still are not up to standard.

The staff were very accommodating, friendly and kind. Everyone always smiled and said hello. I liked the fact that the property was secure and ease of access to rooms from parking garage. Also, convince to restaurants within walking distance. The room had a fantastic view, beds were comfy and lots of drawer space. The beach was also amazing!

Things to improve upon include: clear language that there is a resort fee of $17 dollars per day that covers WiFi and parking listed on booking.com and other such sites. Notification that you must pay for any type of room service. We asked for our floors to be swept and mopped. They did an awful job and still charged us $20. I even stated this at checkout, there was just a verbal apology. We also did not receive new towels on our final day after two requests. Theses three items should be addressed to improve others stay at The Beach Quarters Resort. It's sits at a perfect location and is a jewel in VA Beach!

The staff is absolutely top notch. I didn't realize there would be construction going on while I was there, however the front desk quickly changed me to a room that was far away from all the noise. Every member of the staff I met was absolutely amazing. Such a welcoming experience. Room was clean, Monica clean (iykyk). The views were amazing. Of course it rained pretty much the whole time I was there, but I got to see some dolphins while I sipped my morning coffee from my patio, and I got some really cool pictures of the ships at sunrise! The staff was welcoming. I had everything I needed, and if I needed something they was happy to help. All in all, I will 100% stay at this property again. But wait, do you understand the staff are AMAZING?!

I didn't love that there was construction going on that wasn't listed on the site, the rooftop bar was closed and the outdoor pool was right next to the construction, so you couldn't really use it. I did get one phone call about timeshares, I didn't appreciate it because I was taking an afternoon nap when they rang the room. Also the walls are fairly thin, it wasn't a problem for me but that's because I was far away from anybody on the property, but if you are a light sleeper make sure you mention this to the front desk.

The 1st floor through the 5 or 6 floor there is an open space between walking to your room and parking lot. We happened to be there when it was cold, so I froze every time I stepped out the door, to go swimming or anything within the property. Also we were on the 1st floor and people at night some how enjoyed sitting by the waterfall, but we heard everything they said in our room, it was after 10 pm and we were trying to get to sleep. The language was not appropriate for our grandson’s to hear either.

I like that everyone was very friendly Laundry was free to use Kids under 11 got a goodie bag When needed more coffee sugar and toilet paper was given in gift bag and to ask anytime we need more. Very polite employees Fitness center was huge and spacious with 2 saunas. Love that we can check in once arrived We got our room around 11am and parking on at site garage with alternative parking for larger vehicles across street. Great hotel for Families

Doors need new door hinges they old and rusty Especially balcony ones Need to slam door to close door it gets stuck.

The staff is the best, efficient, and very helpful. 1.We checked in late, couldn't find a cart for our stuff. Kamron, the person who checked us in, went to every floor to look for a cart for us. Really appreciate that. 2.We accidentally locked our bathroom door, we called and Kianah got maintenance over. In less than 10 mins, problem solved. Didn't get the name of the Maintenance guy, but he's very nice. Very clean room. We got a room on the 1st floor, it has direct access to the beach, can't beat that.(see pic attached, taken from outside our room)

The property is old and dated. Doors needed a bit of a push/pull to open/close. Not enough/lacked power outlets/charging outlets.
