I was there for a convention, which went off very well. The hospitality room was well stocked and the staff was friendly. My room was upgraded because it was not ready at check in, so that was nice. The view was ok, but I was not expecting one, nor would I have appreciated it as I was hardly in the room. The stairwell and elevators made it easy to get to my room. It's hard to be critical of the cleanliness because of the recent, rare snowstorm which contributed to some of the dingy atmosphere of a surely lovely summer destination. The restaurant had a good view, and the attitude of the staff I encountered brightened up the place and added to the wonderful experience of my conference there. I would definitely return should circumstances warrant.

I love this place! Very clean. Very comfortable. They have a restaurant bar there. The drinks are a little pricey. But you’re on vacation and it is convenient. The food at the restaurant is very good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I love the huge beach. It is not crowded. It is a way from the boardwalk. They have some volleyball nets there and a patio sitting area. Very beautiful view of the ocean from the rooms.

I don’t understand some of the negative reviews on here. The water in the pool and hot tub was a little cloudy. But it is hard to keep up when there is so much use. some people on here complain about the smell in the pool and hot tub area. It is not that bad considering it’s only in the pool and hot tub area. Anywhere you go where there is a pool and hot tub. It’s going to smell like a pool and hot tub area!. This place is the best kept secret around. Will always be the place. I stay when I go to Virginia Beach!

The room was very nicely appointed, comfortable and essentially felt clean. The carpet could have used a cleaning, but it wasn’t too bad. The beds were comfortable and our ocean view from the balcony was fantastic.

The hotel is a non-smoking property, but the guest on the balcony below was pretty much chain smoking cigars. The unpleasant smell was rising up into our balcony, and the room when we had the door open to hear the ocean. I did mention it to the desk, but they said they didn’t really have a way to police that on the upper floors.

I loved that we were on the 16th floor, and they have a private beach and that your four-legged friends are welcome to stay. I didn't bring my pooch, but there were plenty of furry friends just running around and having fun! They also had live music every night we were there. My granddaughter just loved the pools!

Some of the front desk staff seemed like they wanted to be elsewhere. The all you can eat breakfast was a little pricey seeing how you had to pay extra for coffee, juice, toast, pancakes, and waffles. The restaurant staff were delightful

The staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. I loved the view of the ocean. I have never really been one with time or money to travel, so it was very relaxing. I especially liked leaving the sliding door open just a bit so you could hear the waves.

The room was just a little too cramped. Four people in that space was pretty close quarters. The shampoo sample available was awful. I killed 2 large roaches in the pool area. Thankfully there weren't any in the room that we saw.

The room was wonderful, the view was beautiful, the beds were very comfortable, they have 2 life guards at the beach just for the motel for me was important because the location is surrounded by homes for about 15 blocks but it’s a good quiet area. We did have oceanfront just beautiful. I was worried being away from everything but I would not have changed nothing. I will never stay anywhere else in the future.

No control of the motel, FIRE ALARM, we were on 14th floor and a child pulled the fire alarm. PARENTS need to watch their children.

Great location. Ocean front. I was worried when we checked in because this hotel doesn’t have the best reviews. We were relieved upon check in because we had no issues with our room. It was clean, we didn’t see a single bug, & our view was amazing. The hotel is old. It’s not in disrepair or falling apart though. If you want a clean hotel with a great view that’s also a fair price, this is it. The staff was nice also. Friendly, but not hovering. We would stay here again.

We would have like to be a bit closer to the boardwalk. It wasn’t a long bike ride to the boardwalk, but in the past when we’ve stayed at other Va beach oceanfront hotels you can literally step out of the hotel & you’re on the boardwalk bike path. Gave us extra exercise though.

Did not like the restaurant downstairs. was extremely overpriced $20 a person for a buffet with four items on it. we wanted pancakes so we had to pay separately for those plus the buffet just because the buffet was there basically...70.00 for me and two children under 12 to eat breakfast was insane. Would have been nice to have been able to have breakfast in the hotel but definitely wasnt doing that again.

Oceanfront view from useable balcony, dog friendly, hottub, pool and the great onsite restaurant.

The hours of the pool and hottub should be 24 hours. Far from main attractions but the $2hr parking decks make up for it. The bathroom door wasn't wide enough for handicap. It took a minute to find a working ice machine but I found one one room up and right outside the elevator door. The bad reviews I saw online didn't give it justice. This hotel is great and despite the wheelchair we made it work.

The pricing was fair, and the AC control was zoned between the bedroom and living room/ kitchen. The non-oceanfront rooms still had a nice view, and the bar exceeded expectations. Despite the polarizing reviews, the room was clean, ready by the time we arrived, and parking wasn't cramped. The negatives will sound a bit harsh, but they were pain points felt a few times during our week there, but if they don't apply to you, then it's great.

The WiFi was atrocious. The speed peaked a few times at 6mbps (0.75 MBps), but tended to stay between 0.75mbps and 54kbps (yes, dial up speed) with ping averaging around 100ms, just enough to make calls annoying and video chat impossible. The hotels down the road hosting a number of shops gave specs closer to 6mbps/6mbps/30ms on their open guest network. Also, despite the pictures, there is no attached gift shop or convenience store.
