Clean, some of the staff was really nice. I love staying there because of how nice the facilities are!!! I wish they had free early check in or late check out if they have the rooms. I've never seen a hotel that charges for those. The rooms are always very nice and some of my favorite beds (I travel a lot). The beds are comfy and the housekeeping service is great. Love the little touches around the room. Great location by Capitol and Union station.

Some of the staff was kinda rude. There was a female front desk agent who was bossing another agent around. I think he was in training and she was talking to him like a child. I wish she was kinder when showing the person how to do things - we need more of that in today's world.

Room was great. Environment of hotel was welcoming. Gym was also good (although no windows) - at the top floor it would have been wonderful to have those. Pool was closed as it was November.

The craziest bit I have seen on breakfast business. I stayed for six nights. Turns out, that for breakfast, one can have only one plate, i.e., farmer's breakfast. I had to bargain every morning whether I could have another plate - even cheaper, despite the fact that I had purchased the "breakfast package" which only included the farmer's breakfast. This bit I didn't know when I booked the breakfast part, as I assumed that like in most hotels, there would be a breakfast buffet. Someone needs to fix this.

I was unable to receive a receipt of my stay even with the intervention of booking.com because the property claimed that they cannot issue a receipt because I booked via booking.com. I have never heard that explanation and upon contacting booking.com, they also agreed that this is not true. Neither booking nor I could convince the hotel otherwise and this was particularly frustrating because I was on a business trip and needed the receipt to get reimbursed. I have the impression that the staff is not very well trained.

The staff were really friendly and accommodating. They recommended great restaurants and attractions to visit. The pool is AMAZING. Wasn’t too crowded. There was even a pool party that guest were free to attend and it was an unexpected fun time. Definitely would stay again and even try different YOTEL locations.

The 3rd party parking was NOT good. If you use the garage one night you still have to pay for every night you stay whether you utilize the garage or not. I had a rental that I parked one night and still was charged for the nights that I stayed and did not use the garage. The attendant of the garage was rude and did not specify that this was policy because if I would have known I would have NEVER used to garage to begin with. So to find out during the check out process was extremely disappointing. The attendant at the hotel was super sweet about it, but I still had to pay the fee.

Our stay was great and a great value. Staff, from the cleaning people to concierge to everyone in between were wonderful. The proximity to the Capital and Mall and was excellent -- just a few blocks. The rooms were somewhat like the "businessman rooms" in Japan -- sleek but with everything we needed. The bed slept better than the one we have a home. All the touchscreens and mood lighting were futuristic touches I enjoyed playing with. Tip: if you want less street nois,e ask for a room facing the inside of the U-shaped building. Security was high -- you needed your room card to use the elevator. The hall coffee makers made great coffee. And the ice machine had a setting for ice and water in your cup.

The pool was the one negative -- never got to see it. It seemed to never be open. The afternoon of our arrival it was closed for some private party that evening. Then it was closed the next morning, too. I went up that evening but it had closed at 8. The following morning I asked if they would open it. I was told it management said not till noon. It was too cold. I told them I liked I liked it cold. It's a tiny pool. I wanted to do stretching exercises and also float in the pool to boost my metabolism. Management still refused to open it. That would have made the miles of walking we did a whole lot easier on my back and legs. Oh well.

Hotel was clean and rooms were spacious. Good location for exploring sights. Within walking distance of many tourist hotspots and the train station. The beds have an electronic mechanism which allows you to put the back rest up which was great and very unexpected.

We arrived and were told we owed the nightly tax fees, we explained that we had already paid them within the price. The lady on reception was adamant that it was not possible to pay these in advance and wanted us to pay them again. Thankfully had kept all correspondence and was able to show we had already paid.

The area was quiet and convenient. We were able to easily travel to other areas of DC via e-bikes and the Metro train. The room utilized space very well which allowed it to feel roomy and not crammed like other rooms we've stayed in. It was very cozy, felt clean, and modern. The adjustable bed in a hotel room is something we've never experienced so that was a nice surprise. The customized light features was a nice touch too!

We realized we should have adjusted the room's thermostat upon our arrival so that it would be temped when we returned later that night. Because of this, we were hot in the room for most of the night until the thermostat fully adjusted. When we visit again, we will know to do this next time. The other aspect that was an issue was the bathroom door was incredibly loud when it slid into it's place perhaps too quickly. In the middle of the night I had to get up to use the bathroom and the door screeched really loudly, waking my husband up. I just left the door propped wide open for the rest of the night so it wouldn't happen again.

Yotel is a bit of a weird hotel experience. Its location, first of all, is A+ for visiting DC , especially the Capitol--super for political business. For quick ins and out, good services, cabs--super. For a touristic visitor it's--well, a little trippy. Super modern, so much so one wonders why they tried so hard, forgetting that old-fashioned pleasures like comfy chairs are okay too, or a bathroom more set off, for privacy of one or another of the visitors. But it's forceful experience of super-modern is also very efficient--and most of the staff are downright nice, as well as efficient, which makes up for its sort of programmatic qualities. An interesting taste of the new, leaving a hunger for the old, perhaps.

Bathroom set up, which foists bathroom into living area--all frosted glass and super modern. But so what?

The setting is really nice and the staff is exceptionally friendly. Loved it! The pool is great and you can order (nice!) food and drinks which really functions well. We liked that in addition to ice there was also water at each floor so we didn’t have to buy bottled waters. The overall spirit of the place feels great.

We would have liked the pool stays open longer in the night. And one morning it opened so late, that we could not have our coffee at the terrace as expected. Maybe something went wrong that day? All the rest was just great.

The location was perfect for my one night/one day business trip to DC; I had to be on Capitol Hill. The electric bed which went from a comfy tv-watching sofa to a full-length king was fun, and I slept well. The automatic check-in/check-out procedure was great- quick, no waiting for a front desk person, and easy to do. Although there aren’t coffee makers in the rooms, each floor has a surprisingly good automatic coffee machine by the elevators.

the rooms are basically smallish rectangles with translucent glass dividers for the shower stall and toilet. Maybe it is just me, but I’m not a big fan of the fake wood floors we encounter just about everywhere these days. Yotel doesn’t believe in room decorations. The entirely white walls without any prints or other art, the giant (but not great resolution) TV surrounded by lights you can use to change colors and intensity and the translucent glass dividers made me feel like I was staying in a Star Trek spaceship cabin, not a DC hotel! Back to the TV- one advantage of a lot of Air B&B and other apartments I’ve stayed in is that they often provide a Roku so one can summon up one’s own streaming accounts. The YOTEL just has cable for that giant screen.
