Location is great access to grocery stores and fast food options such as chipotle. I really like that you could control the room with the iPad. I really needed a hotel room, but I could just relax, and this is the perfect lounge type of hotel.

The windows are not tinted so if you have your blinds open, people can literally see through you like a fishbowl and what was even more creepy is that I could literally see into the rooms of people staying at the hotel across the street. I also wish there was access to a water fountain. I also do not think that breakfast was worth the money at all.

Clean and modern rooms. Yes they are small but who goes to Washington to stay in their room? It is purely somewhere to sleep and shower. Cost about $10 in an uber from Union station. There is a supermarket and a pharmacy across the road. The metro station is a 3 to 4 minute walk away. Approximately 30 minute walk to The Capitol and the same to some nice restaurants (Carmines, Tik Thai). Yes there are some ‘characters’ on the streets but we didn’t experience any issues. First time in a Citizen M hotel but would definitely stay again.

love the cool artsy vibe of the hotel and staff : friendly efficient at check in and check out. the hotel lobby is cool. adequate security with great clean rooms. quiet and private . good decor in the room and good media and light fixtures. the hotel check in staff gave us a complimentary breakfast which was a beautiful surprise. bed was good comfortable - we had good sleep. located near the metro NOMA as well near a grocery supermarket and near capital bikes , which we used for exploring parts of city. the area is safe secure and has great vibes. Breakfast was good. there was a fridge and a security safe for use.

room is a tad small and would have been better if it were slightly bigger. no electric kettle . no tooth brush or tooth paste provided .

Really well designed modern rooms and great ambiance overall. Perfect room for one ... plush and fun and really well designed. I liked the room's tablet ... easy to adjust lights (including colors) , watch tv, set temp (altho the heat never really ticked up when i called for it) and set alarm. Light switches well marked too! SUPER great staff and nice work spaces and bar on street level. The price was also quite reasonable. Will definitely return for my DC trips!

As a member of the older generation, it was annoying that super small fonts were employed when typing into the tablet's 'tell us more' screen. Also was confusing that shower had 2 shampoos and no soap (each shampoo is a different scent/use ... one a.m. and one p.m. ... and they double as body soap). Only with my cheaters on i could read the labels to figure that out. Mirror lights above sink could be brighter for those doing skin care!

The rooms were compact but very comfortable and so connected tech wise it made it a little treat and experience

As a customer, I reached out a couple hours after I checked out (before their check-in time) after my stay about an item I left behind and was having someone come by to pick it up for me, the man I spoke to a couple times at the front desk Monday (Labor Day) around 2:30 - 4pm was not only inconsiderate and rude but also unprofessional. He was the difference between me retrieving my item and it getting thrown out and because of his lack of compassion as a human being for a customer that just stayed with you at the place that’s boasts “citizen” & community, I lost my item forever. He didn’t have to be as cold and lifeless as the bots that run the hotel.

My daughter and I recently stayed at CitizenM in Washington DC, and we were really impressed! The room was a bit small, but they made the most out of every inch of space. They even managed to fit a king-size bed in there, which was great (though I'm glad I didn't bring my 6'6" husband along—he might've struggled to fit on it!). The clever use of space made the room feel more spacious than it actually was, with no wasted areas. The mood lighting was a nice touch and really set a relaxing atmosphere, and the automatic blinds controlled by the iPad were such a cool feature. It made everything feel high-tech and seamless. As for breakfast, it had a nice European flair—really tasty with a variety of options, including some exotic fruit, which was a fun surprise! The staff was limited but super helpful and friendly. From the security guard who gave us great tips on street parking and nearby garages to the front desk team, everyone was welcoming and efficient.

The only downside is the parking situation, so I’d recommend using Uber or the metro if you’re visiting. It’s much easier than dealing with parking.

I was traveling alone so I loved the coziness of the room. I loved the iPad! That is so smart. All the questions I had were answered by the iPad. I loved the room lighting, the different colors that you could adjust to to set the mood for whatever type of night you were going for was cool. I liked the working areas downstairs, amazing for people who work remotely.

It was inconvenient that there wasn’t an iron in the bedroom. They have an ironing room but I would’ve preferred it inside the room. I don’t know if it was just me but I wasn’t able to find a music channel. I like to get ready to music so that would’ve been nice but maybe that’s because they want to keep the building quiet.

Easy check in. Kind staff. Small, but cozy room. I also liked that you are doing everything on the IPad. You do not even need to get up if you need to turn off the light. And I love love love this bed!!! Oh, if you are shy and cannot use the shower/toilet when somebody is near, so be prepared that walls are glass but frosted. (Just wanna let you know, just in case, lol)

I stayed there for 3 nights and I wanted to do cleaning on the second day (Actually I just wanted to replace my towels and trash bin). But it costs $6, so I didn't use this opportunity :) Anyway I came to the front desk and a lovely man replaced my towels without any cost.

Everything in a room was managed from an Ipad. The room was not too big but adequate for one person. Good sound insulation, good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. You can also enter whatever info you need to have on your invoice, but that was ignored in the end. Nice small fitness room, although there was some maintenance missing. Some restaurants, shops and Metro station nearby.

It was very difficult to get an invoice at the end of the stay. They said they cannot print it but promised it will arrive by e-mail, whhich it did not. I had to go through ther very stupid online chatbot, which sent me to a webpage where the invoice was supposed to be but was not. Then I was redirectyd to a real person and only then I got my invoice. Without the info I entered to the Ipad in my room. So I had to ask them for a fix and then I got what I needed. So no problem at the end, but shows a bug in their software and processes.
