The bed was SO comfortable, the shower/bathroom was huge and so was the room in general. The location was located perfectly for our reason for stay. Shanna and her staff were amazing and when I asked about additional parking (previous reviews mentioned the small parking garage) and she gave us a card for the city parking garage next to the facility. Parking was 12$ which I didn't think was too bad. Overall our stay exceeded my expectations considering some of the negative reviews I had read prior to our stay. We attended a show at the Metropolitan, which was literally around the block. Close to the bars and a few restaurants which was perfect for after the show. Definitely will stay again next time I'm in Morgantown!

The only issue we ran into was the hot/cold nozzle was backwards in our shower, but no biggie we figured it out and it was the hottest hotel shower I think I've ever taken.

Now living in Arizona for a number of years, this was suggested to me by a college friend. We went college together an hour down the road. The entire town was booked due to an event and the timing of my visit. He brought up Morgantown and this place as a suggestion. Less expensive by $100 a night and the surroundings short walking distance restaurants and museums for one night made sense. I was glad I trusted my friend taking his word. The room was spacious, modernized, comfortable and slept well that night.

I felt the staff may have been a little under their game, probably being in the back office more while waiting for service. No sweat, all good.

I really enjoyed my stay there! Everything was really great. The beds are comfortable. The room was clean. The bathrooms are amazing. The man who checked me in was really nice and polite.

The parking garage, not so much it's a little bit hard to navigate if there's someone coming out as you're going in.

Our room was better than anticipated & we appreciated the convenience of the private parking garage at no extra cost

Not the fault of the hotel at all but our room looked out over Chestnut Street & there is a club across the street so there was a good amount of noise all through the night. I would suggest asking for a room that does not face that direction if you can get one

The room was palatial, and the staff was wonderful. There is a nice little bar on site, and it is within walking distance of so many nice bars and restaurants.

The parking garage is a death trap. It is not designed to fit modern cars, and we had multiple issues getting into and leaving the garage. Frankly, the structure should be condemned and rebuilt. If you are asked to pay for parking at this hotel, laugh in their face and demand parking be comped. It is shameful how dangerous and dilapidated that garage is. I'm frankly insulted that I was asked to pay extra to utilize such a terrible "amenity."

We were only there for one night on a weekday. It was nice, the staff was nice, it's close to local restaurants and shops. It's summer break at WVU so not too crowded or crazy.

The parking garage was pretty empty bc of summer break, but the entrance and exit are the same lane, so we had to back up to let someone out before we could enter the garage. No elevators or stairs there bc of work being done. Not a huge deal, but that was the only "negative" about the stay.

The helpfulness of the staff at the Scholar exceeded expectations. Shayna was so friendly and gave us suggestions on where to eat, drink, and listen to live music nearby. Our stay was great and I would absolutely return to the Scholar.

The shades/blinds in the room were so thin it was like they weren't even there when the sun came up in the morning. All hotel rooms I usually stay in have room darkening curtains so it was disappointing to be woken up so early by the sun, but wouldn't stop me from staying here again.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was excellent. The room was nice sized and super clean. Breakfast was great!!

It is a little pricey. I know you get what you pay for, but I have stayed at other places that were a bit cheaper and still offered the same quality.

Incredible location! Large very clean room with the nicest and largest bathroom we've ever had at a hotel. Staff was awesome, friendly, and welcoming. Huge awesome Samsung TV. We would absolutely stay there again. Super comfy beds and comforters. Please don't take what I didn't like as a deterrent, just feedback to help the owners make this place perfect!

Parking was tight but hey it was available in the middle of town. Huge awesome bathroom but no hooks anywhere to hang towels, seriously the back of the door and all the wall space in the bathroom throw up a few $2 towel hooks! Loud drunks coming in 2:30-3am (both nights we stayed) but hey I'm not mad I've been there and it was short lived. Just be aware, not a dig at the hotel. Heater in the room was a little noisy so we shut it off, it was not that cold when we stayed there and we like it cool. There was a thermostat on the wall but it didn't work, it was an old unit under the window for climate control. We stayed in room 305.

Room was better than expected given the lobby. Parking was up a steep curve in an adjacent building. Luggage racks were available for our stuff.

Lobby not attractive. Location not one I’d linger in after dark. Breakfast was perfunctory and not exactly adequate.
