Somerset Grand Hanoi was a good place to retreat into after a bustling day in the city as room was comfortable (pleasant surprise to get a 2-bedder though we booked a 1-bedder), clean and all equipment works in the room (washing machine cum dryer, induction cooker, fridge, aircon, oven, hairdryer, shower head water pressure and iron). To top it up, professional service from the entire team (door bell to front desk to housekeeping team).

Carpet and fabric for dining table and sofa in the room appear well used (need some deep shampooing).

It was our second time staying at the Somerset Grand and we will always choose to stay here when visiting Hanoi. Staff are so friendly and helpful, even sorting a cake for my husband's birthday. The apartment was really spacious and well equipped which was great considering we had to stay in one night due to bad weather. The pool is huge and you can order food and drinks to have at the poolside. Really useful supermarket downstairs as well. Didn't use the restaurant so can't comment on that. Location was great for all the sights of Hanoi with lots of places to eat within walking distance.

Really difficult to find any faults!

Very spacious and comfortable apartment with loads of room for our family. Our apartment had two seperate bedrooms, each with a bathroom, and a kitchen that was well equipped. The property is well located and has a nice swimming pool and gym and there is a good minimart and spa downstairs.

The only thing that we didn't like was the flag display on the rooftop. We were very shocked to see the Israeli flag displayed right next to the swimming pool , at time when Israel is clearly committing a genocide and is responsible for the murder of thousands and thousands of innocent people in Gaza. It was truly shocking to see the Israel flag displayed at such a time. However, we raised our concerns about this with the management and they were prompt in removing the flag. I hope it stays removed, for the sake of humanity. Would have given the hotel 10 stars if it were not for this!

We stayed at this hotel as a family with two adults and two children. Although the hotel is rated 5 stars, unfortunately, it does not fully meet the standards typically associated with this rating. There were several issues, especially regarding cleanliness, and the overall condition of the hotel felt somewhat outdated and in need of renovation. One of the highlights of our stay was the spacious play area for children, which our kids truly enjoyed. It was a great space for them to have fun and burn off energy. We would especially like to mention Mr. Toan Nguyen, one of the hotel drivers, who stood out with his exceptional kindness and helpfulness. Although he works as a driver and is often stationed in front of the hotel, we frequently interacted with him and other staff members. Mr. Toan Nguyen gave us great recommendations for local restaurants and indoor playgrounds for our kids, and despite the language barrier, he always made the effort to communicate with us and assist us in any way he could. In fact, the overall service and friendliness of the staff were outstanding. From the moment you arrive, the door is opened for you, and every staff member greets you – even the housekeeping staff. This high level of politeness and attentiveness really made a difference and created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Overall, our experience was a mix of positives and areas for improvement. While the hotel could do better in terms of cleanliness and maintenance, the exceptional staff and the great play facilities for children made our stay enjoyable.

I rate his hotel 10/10. The service outstanding!!! The staff couldn't do enough for you. Very professional and VERY polite and attentive. We loved being able to stay in 2 bedroom apartment for family and it served our needs perfectly. All of the facilities were exceptional and the location is great just a short drive outside acient town but still so close to everything. We could walk to train street.We would 100% stay again and recommend to friends and family.

The pool was closed for maintenance each morning until 2pm, but we understood that his was necessary and could not be helped so did not bother us too much

We booked 2 bedroom executive apartment for our family. Room was very clean, spacious and facing the city views. Kitchen was well equipped with laundry facilities also. Location within walking distance to Old Quarter, French Quarter, Hoa Lo Prison (a must visit if you enjoy museums and war history) and Hoam Kiem Lake. So many food options nearby also. Housekeeper was lovely, attending to our needs and staff even surprised my husband with birthday cake for his 45th! Decor a little worn but didn't deter the lovely stay we had. Would definitely stay again.

Dated but comfortable apartment style hotel. It is a little far from the action of old town. It is a 15-20 min walk so in the heat it is easier to get a grab. It is nearby to a nice Indian restaurant, Quán a noon restaurant, and another nice casual place called Cafe 48. It also has a very expensive super market by the lobby but it is good if you need basic supplies. The room had a washing machine which was very handy. The gym is so big and well equipped! We didn’t eat at the restaurant The pool is very big and cold although quite cold.

Great facilities, room was fantastic

There was a loud radio or TV noise that went off every morning at about 5.30 am which woke us up and this noise continued for hours, we were unable to get back to sleep which was very annoying. We could not tell exactly where this noise was coming from, but it was close to our room 2208, there was also a constant washing machine noise that could be heard from the kitchen, meaning we had to keep the kitchen door closed to shut out the noise. Had we been staying longer we would have to have complained about this noise. I would suggest that this is investigated to avoid future guests having to put up with this noise.

This please feels actually better than a home faraway from home. We enjoyed the apartment, the kitchen and being able to do our laundry. But staying at the Somerset felt like staying in a mini resort in the middle of Hanoi. The 4th floor gives access to a large terrace, fitness facilities, the pool, a pool table and ping pong. It even has a small lounge where residents can take more important calls - on video conference calls while the rest of the family is enjoying the pool. A special thumbs up to the staff at the fitness and the pool. Johnny-Nam and the lady in the afternoon shift have both been most helpful, patient, and enthusiastic. It was a real pleasure to stay at the Somerset.

Access to the supermarket on the ground floor was very convenient. One person at the shop did not return my change and I had to insist to get it right, which is always annoying. I echo the other reviews about the dated furniture and wardrobes. However, the staff and the overall experience really makes up for it.

Somerset Grand Hanoi is the best place to stay at Hanoi. While we stay there, we are really impressed by the hotel team with the following members: Aimee, Rachel, Evie and Diep. The location Somerset is very close to all the famous attraction at the center of Hanoi. At Hanoi, there are lot of hotels/apartments are not the same like the pictures, so that the great staff member allowed us to see the apartment to make sure we like it before we move in, because we are kind of skeptical after we had the experience somewhere else that the description/ads are totally different than what we actually get. And this one is exactly the same or beyond what we expect. The nice staff allowed us to leave our luggage at the desk so that we can go out to enjoy the city. During our stay, whenever we have questions/ concerns, they addressed such very quickly. Mostly importantly and amazingly, we lost some stuff at the apartment, I called the hotel and they helped to arrange the mailing of my stuff to me at another city in Saigon. The communication thru whatsapp is with such an ease and pleasure.
