We are so geateful for everything what we have got from this hotel. This was our best decision. The perfect location, the friendly room where it was happines to get home after a tiring sightseeing day. The stuff is super kind, helpfull and stand out attentive. Thomas is on of the most kind and helpfull receptionist who We met during our travel. He is extremly prepaired and super kind. During the time What We spend here he immediately helped us and gave us perfect and useful advise. He helped us a lot and We appreciate it. We are wait to come back here . I ended up staying for two months. I loved the location, right in the middle of the Old Quarter, but on a quiet back road so you don't get any of the noise from the busier streets. Lots of restaurants, shops, coffee shops, craft beer places, street food, etc. within 3 minutes walk. Maybe a fifteen minute walk to Hoan Kiem lake and the night market. For the money the room is huge, twice the size of what you can find in most other hotels. There are large windows letting in a lot of light, with effective blackout curtains for when you want to sleep in. The bed was firm which I like. The style and furnishing of the room fit well with the atmosphere of the Old Quarter. The shower had good water pressure and unlimited hot water. The air con worked very well, you can keep the room frosty if you want to in the middle of summer. The bedroom was clean. Lots of channels on the television. Reasonably priced snacks. Wifi was great, good laundry service. Reasonable price for the airport taxi. And the staff were really friendly and helpful, I forget the names of the two who worked during the day but they were both very kind, and spoke good English. After a couple of weeks had gone by they started giving me a lot of free fruit, and then the owner gave me a vase as a memento when I left, I couldn't believe it. I guess as a thank you for having stayed so long, but the thoughtfulness was genuinely touching.

The bathroom wasn't spotless, there was a little grime on the shelf next to the shower which I cleaned myself (honestly I think the cleaners were too short to see it), some browning caulk here and there. The shower fixture wasn't firmly attached to the wall. There were one or two small holes in the plaster in the bedroom. Nothing too disastrous.

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times, and every visit feels safe, welcoming, and comfortable. The owner and staff are genuinely hospitable, often going above and beyond, from surprising me with a complimentary room upgrade to allowing a late check-out to match my work schedule. The location is unbeatable: right in the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, yet tucked away in a quiet alley. This means you get the convenience of exploring Hoan Kiem District on foot, without the noise you might expect from the city center. While the furnishings aren’t as modern as those in brand-new hotels, everything is clean, cozy, and feels just like home which is exactly what keeps me coming back. The room rates are also excellent value compared to other hotels in central Hanoi. Highly recommended for anyone who values warmth, comfort, and a truly local experience.

Owner and her staff are amazing. The location is perfect. The Hotel needs some attention and updating as there’s paint peeling and some cleanliness and dust issues. But I would absolutely stay here again. It’s a great value and I can’t say enough about the people operating the hotel.

It needs some attention to dust and cleanliness in the room. The lightbulbs and shades on the lamps next to the bed we’re really in need of attention. Paint was peeling in many places. Sort of like a fine old lady that aged and could use a little makeover work

The staff (Sisi and Tom) were the absolute highlight of our stay! They were so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about what we needed to know during our stay. The room was big and the air con + internet worked well. Location was great: near to train station and walkable for basically everything in the centre. Communication was great before and during our stay, including helping to book us on to Ninh Binh and Ha Long bay trips, as well as our airport transfer.

The bathroom wasn't great, with the shower soaking the bathroom floor unless you have it in the exact right position!

The staff were absolutely wonderful. Cici was especially great when dealing with the customer. She has a wide knowledge of the area, and was happy to offer any advice or suggestions. The property is situated between Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake. Plenty of good restaurants.

The room wasn't as clean as I would have hoped. There was mould on the back bathroom door, and we had ants in our room. They were also in the jug. I pointed out where they were coming in from. I bought some detergent and a sponge to do some cleaning. The jug smelt of plastic.

Very nice place and great helpful staff. We extended our stay with one night and even got a small discount. We had a big room on the 7th floor with windows and even though we could hear sounds from the streets is wasn’t loud at night. It’s very quiet compared with all other places I’ve stayed in Hanoi.

There was some construction work going on next door, so in the morning we experienced noise from the machines, but that is often the case in Hanoi, so I would still say that this place it a good choice if you want a more quiet place to stay in the city center. And anyway it’s not the fault of the hotel..

The hotel is tucked away down a narrow alley, so despite being so close to attractions like Train Street and the Food Street, it was quiet and peaceful in the hotel itself. Both the daytime and nighttime attendants spoke excellent English and were very helpful in giving us some recommendations for places to visit while we were in Hanoi. They also helped us book our travel to our next destination, and were generally friendly, funny, and welcoming. Our room was very spacious and comfortable, good AC and hot water in the shower, plus a minibar in the room with some water and snacks at a very affordable price.

There are many things we like about Urban Alley. Located in old quarter and easy to access some tourist destinations such as water puppet show, hoan kiem lake, street food and so on. As Me and my husband are foodie, we love to try all street food and good restaurants which is all walking distance from the hotel. The most we appreciate is their personalized service and one stop shop service. We are first time in Vietnam and taking a tour to other destinations such as Halong bay, SAPA, Hao Lu, Trang An, Mua Cave with the arrangement of receptionist Thomas and hotel owner Mrs Bich. It is really worth to pay compare to your so called luxury trip. We felt heart warming stay with their sincerity, care and flexibility.

Room very comfortable, as asian, glad room has fan. Reasonable price. Room clean. Got hot shower and lift. Breakfast not inc. Receptionist can speak English. Easy to communicate and ask question. Got upgraded room. Booked again for our last day as i think the hotel can help assist with the transportation to airport. Take 10-15 mins to Railway station. Has clean n dry service for 1 kg clothes.
