The staff were so good. Thank you to Tracy and Henri for making our stay so wonderful. The service was so good that we came back after the Ha Giang loop tour. Arrived back at 2am and William and Daff were there fussing over us. They upgraded our room for free. We were so tired and it was like coming home. We were very grateful. The next day our train for Hue didn’t leave until 7.30pm. In that time they got all our laundry done and after we checked out we had free use of the pool, a room if we wanted it and they stored our luggage for us. The breakfast was a wonderful surprise. So good. Lots of choices- European, Vietnamese and Western food all represented. The beds were the softest we have had in Vietnam. Although the hotel is older, everything was so good that I would definitely come back. Can’t recommend it enough. Thank you to all the staff for your amazing service

Hotels a bit older but they are renovating its clean. As I said above, the service and breakfast is so good that it more then compensates.

The air conditioning did not run continuously and kept turning off which then made the room hot and humid at night when trying to sleep

Another outstanding boutique hotel. We have been spoilt in Vietnam! We had room 503, a front room with a balcony (to hot outside!) but gave great light into our room. Rooftop pool on the 7th floor, so great to cool off in. Loved watching the traffic and people below. The included breakfast was simple, but always, the fresh egg options on offer. Staff, special mention to William, were fantastic. GREAT location, easy walking in lots of directions. Super close to Train Street. I totally thought, what a tourist trap, but, do go at NIGHT! *We returned for 1 night had a Premium room with window (rm 401). It was good for the overnighter, but could feel gloomy/closed in for longer. Choose the front rooms (with balcony).

My adult son and I stayed for two weeks in June 25, splitting out time between Hanoi and Hoi An. This hotel was in a great location within walking distance of the main tourist areas such as train street, beer street, night markets etc. Nice rooms with fridge, great shower and air con. Lovely rooftop bar and pool and breakfast food was delicious - a great choice of hot and cold to satisfy most people. I slept really well every night. Staff were AMAZING! So friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, even the kitchen staff would wave and nod if they saw me. Miss Daff and Miss Tracy helped with local questions, and trips to Ninh Binh and Halong Bay because some of the cheaper options you get what you pay for (long waiting time, bigger crowds etc) and these trips we organised through them were fabulous. The hotel gave us a small gift when we left them and it was hugs and handshakes all round while they navigated us across the mental traffic to our waiting taxi. What a fabulous adventure we had, and we would definitely recommend to other travellers.

Nothing.

We have made this hotel our base on three trips to Vietnam. It is in a great location in the old town with balconies looking down on the street. It has double glazing so not noisy at night. Really great breakfast catering to all tastes. All the staff are great but Mr Charlie needs a special mention. He arranged all our complex transport needs wherever we were going and stayed in constant whatsapp contact to check everything was ok, even calling ahead to our accommodations to smooth the way. My partner got quite sick and Charlie helped there too. It’s like having a kind Uncle or brother looking out for you. Next time we come I am just going to ask him to arrange the whole trip!

Unfortunately on the day of travel we were informed of a problem with our room in a sister hotel. To be fair they offered us a room at this hotel which was in the Old Quarter so great for walking to places but a nightmare for taxis to take/pick up From . Beware if you have any tours booked. On our arrival we were assigned a room so settled in but then had to move because they had assigned us the wrong room. We were not happy as very tired from travelling but the staff were very apologetic and did their best. From then on all was good , staff were very obliging and friendly.

The hotel was situated right in the old quarter, so close to the action. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A big thank you to Tracey (on Reception) who organised a suprise birthday cake for one of the children in our group, by their d.o.b on passport. Awesome. Rooms were comfortable and accommodating for seven of us. Breakfast had plenty of selection and cooked eggs many ways were available. The pool, a little on the small size was a great asset to the accommodation, especially for our children.

The middle room, had no windows and a little cramped, but sufficient for our needs as not there during the day..

Amazing stay at the San Palace. The front desk were so kind and very knowledgeable/ English language was very good/ Ngoc and Linh were so professional and advised us on everything we needed. We were very thankful to brother Linh who went out of his way to help us book a last min hotel on the night of our flight. Due to the road closures for the 80 year Vietnam celebrations we were advised to move closer to the airport. He called hotels for us and sorted everything to make it easier for our children. The hotel is clean and rooms were immaculate. Breakfast was good and had a selection of food. Location was very good - right in the heart of Old Town Quarters with lots of services, food and coffee shops within minutes of the hotel. The kids enjoyed their stay and I would be sure to book this hotel again.

My only issue was the size of the breakfast dining area and not enough choices for vegetarian options. I don't mind the busy sounds of Hanoi but you may want to consider if you are a light sleeper.

Had a wonderful stay at San Palace Hotel and Spa. The staff are amazing. After a late flight we arrived close to 11pm, the guys were super friendly and pointed us in the right direction of late night food. Anything we needed anything the team were super happy to oblige. It’s in a buzzy location on the edge of the old quarter, very quick walk to train street and about 10 mins walk to Hoam Kiem lake. Heaps of diverse food and snack options in any direction nearby. We had a twin room with a balcony which was incredible. Loved watching the world go by through the window. If you’re bothered by street noise, maybe bring earplugs but I got used to it quickly and found it quite comforting.

The pool is wonderful but quite small. In the late afternoon when a few groups of people are up there it feels full pretty quickly but this was fine for me, good way to chat to fellow travellers.

All the staff were super helpful and friendly and there was a nice atmosphere in the lobby / breakfast room. They allowed us to check out a little later, leave our luggage in the lobby, and use the pool and showering facilities in the afternoon before a late flight. Breakfast was fine, with a reasonable choice of buffet items (it's not a big hotel) and eggs to order. Excellent location in the thick of things in the old town.

This could be a fabulous hotel with a little TLC. The room was small but very well furnished, although some parts needed painting and maintenance. The same goes for the pool on the roof. It's a great spot - and very welcome in the heat - with a bar and views over the city, but the sides are cracked and grubby.
