When we were there, it was still called the Light Hotel. Without a doubt one of the best experiences in recent years. When we arrived they were friendly and compassionate. After a long flight, they gave us something to drink and a snack. "Just sit back and relax. We'll take care of the paperwork." No stress. Perfect. The genuine smiles and friendliness were great. There was some construction work, but they had scheduled short time windows for that in which they worked. Very friendly and focused on you as a visitor. Perfect breakfast. But beware: it can be crowded.

Our room was a bit dusty in the corners.

Great location, value and spotless rooms - my whole stay was as smooth as it goes. This was mostly due to the great staff that are always around for everything you may need. Special thanks to front desk worker, Rachel (If I remembered the name correctly) whose approach and behavior is what you can see only at the best 5 star hotels. All together - highly recommended!

this property was about $10 more then the previous hotel we stayed in in Hanoi before heading out to Ha Long Bay (unfortunately this hotel did not show up in our search otherwise we would have stayed here) the previous hotel was s..t, pay the extra and stay here, everything was very good, very clean, comfy bed, good size room with a window, helpful and friendly staff, great breakfast , great food in the on site restaurant, fab stay 😀

From the moment we arrived, the staff's hospitality was evident. Bella and Giji at the reception were exceptionally helpful, providing us with great directions, tips on where to find delicious food (especially Bahn Mi), and excellent shopping options. Their warmth and politeness set the tone for a wonderful stay. The room was spotless and very comfortable, offering a great respite after a day of exploring the vibrant city. The breakfast options were impressive, catering to both non-vegetarian and vegetarian preferences, ensuring a satisfying start to each day. The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, within walking distance of various markets, the famous Railway Street, and the big church. This made it easy to immerse ourselves in the local culture and sights without needing to travel far. A special touch that truly stood out was the little gift we received as a thank you for staying with them—something we haven't encountered at any other hotel. It was a delightful and memorable gesture that added to the overall exceptional experience. I highly recommend The Light Hotel for anyone visiting Hanoi. Nothing really.

Probably one of the best breakfast buffet we had in South East Asia during 4 months with lots of vegetarian options. The staff is friendly and attentive helping with booking tickets, free luggage storage and bathroom use after checkout. The room was tidy and clean, the mattress very comfortable. The WiFi was fast and reliable.

The pool area is very small with limited space and only 2 sunbeds. The breakfast room can only be reached by stairway, so accessibility for disabled persons is limited.

Great staff…great room…small but good…we had a 20 sq room as we wanted a shower not bath..the only thing that needs to be on there web site is…elevator only goes to 10 floors…11 th floor is where the breakfast and pool is and it’s stairs to them both…saying this I’m not a fan of stairs..body problems but managed them ok for 4 days…we walked everywhere local didn’t need transport close to everything that was on our tommy tourist list…..pool was ok only needed for quick dips

The fact that it’s not on there web site ..or mentioned when booking about the top floor breakfast and pool is stairs…

Very friendly and welcoming staff at reception. Breakfast was also lovely and had good varieties. They also arrange travel and tours when needed which comes handy when needed. Also they did nice small catering for Christmas which was lovely

Room was bit small and elevator was but slow too. Also they didn’t had any flexibility for late checkout or early check in But they have separate showers upstairs Swimming pool is small and was not heated so no one was using it

The staff has been really helpful, foremost Henry, Jenny and Mae. We got a load of insider tips on Hanoi, they helped us out on booking a transfer to Trang An afterwards and for bicycles in the city, anything with a smile. The hotel itself is in a good shape; facilities in the room and in general are clean, the pool with a view is amazing for a dip and the breakfast had a good choice of different styles. Never sure on if the excellent service was part of us being white Europeans, and me alone with my 11-year old son, but all the other guests from all parts of the world looked pretty happy as well :))

We booked a room with Windows and 2 separate beds. Upon arrival we heard they were overbooked for the first night for a room with Windows. Really a bummer as we booked them to get over our jetlag a bit sooner. I think this happens quite often in the whole area, though the personnel gave us three fair options and a decent room (though without windows). As a refund we choose the 60min massage for the 2 of us; just perfect after our flight we just had. And for the second night we got a big room with windows and a balcony on the 7th floor. Nothing to complain about!

Staff were cheerful and very helpful and this really made the stay for us - nothing was too much trouble. Room very clean and everything worked! Good breakfast with lots of options - they were great with allergies. About 10 minutes walk to the lake and 15 min walk to Ho Chi Minh museum so really well located. Pool was very small but there was never really anyone else in it apart from us so great after a day sightseeing.

Only down side was the extra bed which was a bit uncomfortable but the staff changed it once we told them.
