10/10. This is an authentic home stay and Mister Ñam and his family treated us like honored guests. The room was clean, comfortable and serviced efficiently as needed. Each morning, Mr Ñam would have coffee, tea, and a wonderful breakfast for us, often a specialty dish of HoiAn. He arranged transport to and from the airport, helped us with a terrific tour of the Marble Mountains and Lady Buddha, and secured transport one evening to and from DaNang. He has bicycles available for guests and we rode to the beach and all around the beautiful countryside. In the evenings, we made the easy 20 minute walk into the Old Town for dinner. This is an active neighborhood, so sounds of daily life are part of the experience. Our room was on the street, which for us, wasn’t a problem. Quieter rooms seemed to be toward the back of the home, but we enjoyed the street front view. We also had a lot of fun coming back to the home stay in the afternoon or evening and saying hello the children who seemed to enjoy having guests. Their smiles made our day. After a seven night stay (HoiAn is worth a few days!), we would make the Golden Bell Homestay our first choice if we’re lucky enuf to ever return to HoiAn. This was a real homestay. I feel like I made friends for life! The host is an older gentleman who is on property 24-7, he has an army of family members who will come at a whim to help with any of our questions or needs. They give you bikes to use around town and have motorbikes for rent, they call trams for you … and basically allow you to tap into their local networks. We did all sorts of beauty treatments from pls es they go to, so if your an immersive traveler and your philosophy is to get to know the culture, this is fantastic value!

The bathroom is a little old (problems flushing) but didn’t ruin our stay.

Mr Nam’s family at the Golden bell were gracious hosts. It felt like I was staying with distant cousins who make our hit list of experiences come to life. Bonus- he owns Nam’s coffee down the road. If there is anything you want to do, let them know and they will make it happen.

I can’t think of much- probably a challenge for us in the middle of June was coming home to a warm room waiting for the a/c to cool the room. But this is NOT a deal breaker. Just a challenge for this American traveler!

The family was the nicest I’ve met in Vietnam. The family added so many small touches like immediately grabbing iced coffee in the morning, giving us treats and iced tea, the family even providing us with a taxi ride and wouldn’t accept pay. Super nice couple, and great location away from the touristy old town and overlooks a peaceful garden.

Hard to complain, but no hot water

Golden Bell Homestay offers exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated rooms that are spacious, cozy, and fully equipped with all necessary amenities. The local host family is incredibly welcoming, hospitable, and helpful. Located conveniently, it's just a few minutes' bike ride to both the old town and An Bang Beach. Highly recommended for a comfortable and authentic stay.
