Great resort in every way: beautifully located, right by the sea with a beautiful clean sandy, partly rocky, and very quiet beach, fringed by fairytale-lit tall palm trees. Free loan of snorkel sets and boards. Amazing sunsets. Some fishermen active in the bay with their small boats. Service on the beach. Showers outside. Large swimming pool -nearly infinity- next to the terrace. Plenty of sunbeds and shade both on the beach and by the pool. Daily massage services available. Fine apartments/homes with balconies detached or in 2 layers amid a large terraced green and flowery garden close to the sea. Delicious choice buffet in the morning, good menu with plenty of options for vegetarians. All this small and modest, tastefully decorated, quiet and clean. The background music enhances the atmosphere. The whole exudes comfort without chic excess. Not least because of the personal: very friendly, attentive and service-minded staff who also help you with arranging transport to your next place of stay. In short: a real gem, you won't want to leave here!

Nothing!! But if I may mention something: The internet sometimes dropped out. There seems to be solar heating, but in my pretty sunny week of stay I only had lukewarm water (which in itself is not a problem in this climate). It lacks a sofa in the room (the balcony however does have 2 fine chairs). The bathroom is simple but adequate (with rain shower). Little sea life near the beach. Not suitable for those looking for crowds. The quiet village, with restaurant options, is a good 10-minute walk away, partly uphill and without street lights. The terraced site with tasteful stepping stones and modest lighting does not lend itself well to people with mobility problems.

Ancarine is in a beautiful location on a lovely beach, walking and riding distance to the shops. It’s so peaceful with gorgeous gardens and spacious rooms with balconies. I have trouble sleeping away from my own bed but I slept deeply and undisturbed at Ancarine. It was so comfy and a really peaceful energy. The guests and staff were lovely. The manager is very kind and helpful and assisted with anything I needed. Breakfast is excellent with lots of options and fresh juices. Nga gives an OUTSTANDING massage and foot reflexology and by the ocean. It was heaven! There is only one area of improvement and it relates to the property and all of us travellers. We must reduce our plastic consumption. I have travelled since 2017 and not used plastic water bottles, plastic bags and straws. I’d love to see Ancarine use large glass resusable bottles in the room, filled with water daily, instead of giving guests plastic bottles each day. I took my reusable bottle and filled up from the water dispensers or boiled water (here and all across south east Asia). My first day I was up early and went snorkelling. Instead of snorkelling though, I collected masses of plastic bags from the water. I stopped counting at 80 bags. I then cleaned the beach and each day did the same. It was so heart breaking to see such a beautiful place with so much rubbish. This is not the resorts fault as it washes in with the tides and it is common. But we can all be the change and do better. Please help keep our planet beautiful and reduce plastic usage as much as possible.

I loved everything except the rubbish issue. But we have a global waste disaster, so it is not something the property can fix, but it could definitely make improvements to reduce single use plastic.

This resort is situated on the most beautiful private beach. It is away from the hustle and bustle of tourist Phu Quoc and is a small sized resort, not a flashy large one in the thick of the action. Our free standing bungalow looked out over the pool and tree lined beach, gorgeous! The pool was so clean, rooms so clean, staff incredible. Special shout out to Nhan (Nick), so friendly and helpful and Sien, so attentive and fun. The management were very helpful and swiftly organised transfers and a private driver for us. Cannot thank the staff enough for their hospitality and care. The setting is incredible, just like a tropical postcard. We felt that the food and drink prices (including room mini bar) were reasonable and fair. The breakfast buffet was next level wonderful. We could have easily stayed for a month or more, magic and so relaxing! Make sure you order an Ancarine Sunset cocktail at happy hour, perfect with a beach sunset 😊

Wifi a little weak at times but not the whole time. This is understandable given the location, and honestly it added to the relaxation factor. Can’t fault this resort.

Everything. We stayed in one of the rooms at the back which was excellent and spacious. The private beach was idyllic and the water clean. Restaurant was comfortable, with reasonable choice. Breakfast very varied. Staff very polite, gave good advice about how to move around the island. On the last day I lost my hat and they talked to each other quickly over the phone and were able to find where I had forgotten it the night before. Thank you :-) Didn’t get a chance to try the spa or the pool.

There’s nothing we didn’t like. Maybe on the first night we would have gone out to the local bars and restaurants if they had been a little closer but we are talking about a short enough walk, maybe 10-15mins - and you can rent bikes and scooters if you want. And after all it’s nicer to be so close to the sea which naturally means it’s a little more secluded.

The location was the highlight of the trip - right on the beach with easy snorkeling and plenty to see in the water. It was quiet and very secluded. Our room was an easy walk to the ocean and a stunning view. The restaurant was much better than we expected and the breakfast was so good we could skip lunch. Lots of plants and greenery on the property. The staff was really friendly and helpful with whatever we needed.

These are not complaints about things we did not like, we would choose this hotel again next time we go to Phu Quoc. However, everyone is different so these are just a few things to be aware of. If we wanted to try some other restaurants we had to walk a bit. There was no nightlife at all, which was fine for us . The beds were very firm which is typical in many Asian hotels so if you aren't used to that, be aware. The WiFi was weak at times but it helped us to disconnect from work and screen time for the kids. The showers did not get hot but considering the tropical climate outside, the showers were warm enough for what we wanted.

The Ancarine Beach Resort is charming- especially the beach, pool and dinning area. Our bungalow was clean, nicely air conditioned and comfortable although rustic. We loved sitting on our porch and looking at the beautiful, calm sea. There are plenty of lounge chairs by the pool and beach. Swimming conditions in the ocean were excellent. The resort is a 10-15 minute drive from to town. To us, this was a benefit due to the quiet and serene location. Around the resorts are a few other hotels which serve excellent meals and there are a few little shops to purchase snacks and supplies.

Everything was great.

Wonderful attentive and dedicated staff. Best beach spot in the area. Well-balanced combination of facilities (pool, beach front, lounges, waterside restaurant, etc) to guest ratio (unlike other resorts that have huge numbers and tiny or too few facilities. Delicious, varied and generous buffet breakfast. Great food quality at their restaurant (was much better quality and value than the restaurants outside we went to before). Its beach is really lovely: coconut trees a few metres from the waterline, a very calm and swimmable sea and plenty of well-serviced sun loungers for guests 3 metres from the waterline.

Their WiFi was unstable during our visit. Their very attentive manager said this was a recent development they were looking to address. When working, it was very good, but it would frequently drop for a few minutes. Nevertheless, it was a small issue in the context of how nice a stay we had there. Unless you really need reliable Wifi (not our case during our holidays), I would not worry about this.

Great location on a beautiful beach. They keep the beach very clean. The water is also clean for swimming. Beach not busy and can walk along to other bays. Pretty fish in the sea and by the raft. Very chilled out atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Good size pool. Can walk to local shops and restaurants. Great view from our room over the pool to the sea.

Beds needed a blanket or duvet on - we only had a sheet. The Vietnamese lunch and dinner we had in the restaurant were not very good. Need to improve the quality of the Vietnamese food. Breakfast needs some nuts and nicer bread and good quality granola and home made yogurt.

We really enjoyed our stay here a lot, the resort and bungalows are really beautiful, the pool and beach especially are wonderful to relax! The sea is very warm and calm, and mostly really clean, so great for swimming. The pool also is really big and right by the sea, so the view is lovely as well. The resort is full of plants and trees, creating a beautiful tropical atmosphere. Breakfast is great with lovely fresh fruit and juices. Food is also good, although the choice of Vietnamese food is not so big. The staff is really nice and always there to help, Hien at the Restaurant was super kind and told us about local animals as well! The place is a bit further away from town, but thats great if you want to relax in a calmer atmosphere. Guests can borrow a free bike or walk 10-15 minutes to reach some restaurants and local supermarkets as well.

Cold coffee is really nice, but if you want a hot cappuccino similar, you have to get it at one of the neighboring resorts or cafés.

Ancarine is a wonderful place to decompress. You could come here for just that or travel through Vietnam like we did and find yourself in a piece of paradise away from the throngs of the cities at the end of your journey. It's not a huge resort so you don't feel overwhelmed by people. It's a lovely walk to the village where there are plenty of restaurants to choose from and little shops to buy souvenirs or any other basic supplies. We had a beautiful bungalow overlooking the sea: one minute walk to the pool/breakfast; 1 and a half minute walk to the beach. Location was absolutely beautiful. The beach was clean thanks to the lovely garden maintenance man – and the sea was like a bath. The breakfasts had plenty of choices: Vietnamese and European. We felt so lucky to be there. Unlike other parts of Phu Quoc which are quite built up and busy, this place is idyllic. I hope the developers keep well away from it because it's stunning just as it is.

Couldn't complain about anything. We particularly liked how the lovely housekeepers sculpted our fresh towels on a daily basis. Just fantastic!
