Reading reviews from other sources had me very concerned about the hotel to the point where I thought I would try to cancel. I really didn't experience any of the problems other people had mentioned (sand, bugs, filth...). There was a slight odor to the room but it didn't bother me. I didn't see any bugs and felt very comfortable in my room and bathroom. The outdoor staircases could use a good power wash and a couple items in the room were tired (a small section of the ceiling had fallen on the bed - about the size of a finger nail) but that is hardly worth mentioning. The bed was comfortable, heating adequate, great shower, and perfectly functional TV. I only had a very small breakfast because I was meeting a friend for breakfast at a local restaurant. For the money ($55), the hotel was as it should be.

The outdoor staircases were rather dirty and could use a good cleaning. Pretty much everything else was what you would expect at a budget hotel.

The location was superb because we had babies and we were steps from the beach and a pool. Also, I could see the ocean from my room. My family enjoyed the breakfast because they served kid friendly and easy items. the AC worked very well, and the room felt great after a hot day on the beach. Captain George's Seafood, McDonald's, pizza, miniature golf, and historical sites were less than ten minutes away. The desk receptionist checked me in and when we had a power problem the repair man arrived within fifteen minutes of my complaint and the problem was resolved in less than an hour. The repair man's efficiency and knowledge enabled my family to enjoy our vacation because we didn't lose a day waiting for a repair. So, thank you.

Our room was very comfortable and not at all cramped for 4 people. Singe serve coffee pot and a nice size fridge in rooms. Newer tvs. Nice fresh paint The front staff and manager were very attentive and helpful with any needs we had. The breakfast was good ( make your own belgian waffles, sausage biscuits, cereals, coffee, fresh fruit, muffins) They have wheely carts available for use to carry your luggage to your room. Housekeeping staff was friendly and did a great job. We must have forgotten our room key cards at least 3 times and they helped with new ones with a smile each time. ( I felt really bad). We had to change rooms our first night and were offered a choice of 2 rooms that we could go and look at before we accepted. The pool area is super nice, with tables and umbrellas and plenty of lounge chairs. Go early at 9ish though. By 10 or so it was filling up pretty good with parents and babies, little babies, too young to fit in a swim diaper. But that is on the parents, not the hotel. We just swam early and left when the little ones arrived. Staying there was just a pretty good experience overall.

Not a fan of the kiosk at all. It is a live person and it is very loud. No sense of privacy at all. Anyone and everyone within earshot was able to get any person"s who may be using it personal information. Right out in the open. We chose not to use it, but times when I was in the lobby for other reasons, I was hearing all about someone's reservation problems. My concern is anyone could easlly use the information people are speaking out loud ( names, phone numbers, ect) for not so good purposes. But we just went to the desk and waited for someone, There was always staff there.

The property location is great! I love staying there when visiting the OBX. The cleaning staff is great as well.

The property charged my card the $549 for my staff 3 times. It was not fault of the nice lady working it was something with the system. When I went the next day to talk to the manager it seemed as though this happens a lot. I had to talk to him and the man on the virtual check in/out system to ensure I was given my refund. It’s almost like they thought I would not catch the charge. The nice lady working the day of my checkin was very apologetic but the two men didn’t seem to care for this inconvenience. Over $1,000 taken from your account for no reason on vacation causes a lot of stress. Seriously hoping it was just a glitch in the system. Hopefully my credit will be issued on my account in 3-5 business days if not I will have to continue the process of trying to get my money back.

Great location near all of our favorite things. Beach access. Pretty good breakfast options, comfortable bed, reasonable price. 2 years in a row staying here.

Couple times there was no one at the front desk. Had to talk to a disinterested person on the kiosk screen in the lobby. Employee on screen seemed like he couldn't care less about anything I said or needed. The year before I was much happier with the staff friendliness and availability.

Nice room, love the location on the beach, easy road and highway access

My room was on the second floor, when I uses the ele ator, the door that opened into the hallway would get stuck, drag on the concrete, you would really have to push to open it, it was a large heavy full glass door. I feel this could be a safety issue.

The room was clean, the staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good. I loved the ice machine. The bed was really comfortable. The mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker were good!

The bathroom door didn’t fit the frame and didn’t shut. I had to push , shove, and drag it across the floor-and it was LOUD! No fan in bathroom and an old vent was covered with 2 inches of dirt. That was pretty disgusting, and the faucet was ready to come off the tub.

Can they add oatmeal/hot water/pkgs of hot chocolate.

Do away with the check in kiosk. Took too long. Person was having some problems. Had problems understanding him. People don’t want to waste 30 minutes. They are just ready to get to their room & relax. People to people contact is wonderful & the employee behind desk on Friday, May 12 was fantastic. Give him a raise or bonus. He tried to locate luggage carts for us also!!!!!!!

everything for the most part was great my favorite thing is how close to the ocean it is.

we paid a good amount of money for our room and when we got there we noticed the bathroom door was broken and didn’t shut all the way and there was trash stuck to the wall in the bathroom. The room for the most part was clean except the bed accidentally got pushed over a little bit and we noticed there was brown stains/ dirt all under the bed. Other than that everything was great.

I liked the free breakfast. The room was also very large and comfy. It was also quiet for the most part which is good, since I was down here for work. Having coffee down in the lobby was also nice I didn’t mind going down to get a cup.

The coffee maker in the room is terrible, I hated making coffee and tea. There was always a weird taste to it. So I would elect to go to the lobby and get a cup of coffee there and bring it back to my room.
