Pros: excellent king-size bed; spacious room; friendly staff; location is prime and a few minutes drive from tourist attractions and good restaurants.

Cons: The room furniture and carpet are old; everything was clean but not super clean - found a couple of hair in the shower wall, but nothing that would prevent me from staying there again

I loved the location and the bayview (Tower 3, third floor, the higher the better). As previous reviews stated, the furniture is quite old, but rooms are spacious, beds clean and comfy and it is one of the few hotels with balconies and where you can open the balcony door and control your air condition as you like. Some reviews stated that there is no daily cleaning, which I cannot confirm: there was cleaning everday, with the option to have it only every third say.

When I arrived (jetlagged, at 5:30 pm) and 3 out of 4 credit / bank cards did not work at first, the lady at the reception was not particularly helpful nor understanding. Fortunately, my private credit card (no 4) worked on second try, and I could in the end pay with my business card upon checkout. On the other hand, on the last day of my stay (5 nights) I was immediately granted a late checkout by a very friendly employee of the hotel. In the room, the drawers were not too clean when I checked in, however, everything else was fine and the cleaning personnel very nice, left them a nice tip. 😉 In comparison to hotels in Europe, US hotels appear generally overpriced, but since I booked rather late, it was still the best choice and I would come back again.

Slow seating when restaurant was empty, waitress spoke way to fast for some of our guest with hearing aids, wasn’t willing to give military discount to our vet unless we paid in one check. Totally wrong to do that, guess it’s their way of not honoring vets

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel located right by the sea. The location is fantastic, with easy access to both the zoo and SeaWorld, making it a perfect choice for families or anyone looking to explore these attractions. The hotel itself was well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The room was comfortable, clean, and offered beautiful views of the ocean, which made the experience even more relaxing. Overall, this hotel offers great convenience for those wanting to enjoy the nearby attractions, and I would definitely stay here again.

This place is AMAZING! The Bay View was the absolute BEST. We are definitely coming back here and wanting room 1055. Best view! The best was comfortable. The shower was big, and the water was perfect. The balcony was great and came with 2 chairs and a small table. We used it a lot! MOST AMAZING STAY FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY!!! Plus, it was close to Little Italy where our anniversary dinner was at. I just loved this place. Staff was so friendly!!!

Everything was amazing but of course the parking was $50 for the night which I wasn't expecting but there was a lot of space still so that was great! Mini fridge didn't get the drinks cold fast. So maybe the temperature was set wrong. But it finally got them cold later on.

The location is amazing and so close to so many things to see in San Diego. It was safe, there were safeguards in place so we never had to worry. We were very lucky to be able to check in early, not all hotels will allow this even if the room is ready. As soon as we checked in we went over to see the Star of India and other ships, that are right across the street. You don't have to go far for restaurant options, next to the Star of Inida is the Brigantine, or Claim Jumper in the Hotel. If you want to walk further there are even more restaurant and sightseeing, check out Sea Port Village after seeing the Midway Navel Ship, next to the kissing statue. Take a ride to Sea World, or the San Diego Zoo. This is a great place for a couple retreat or a family adventure.

Nothing that Wyndham has any control over. If you are sensitive to sounds, the hotel is on a busy street and there is an airport close by, along with a navy base accross the bay. San Diego is a busy city, this hotel is in the midde of it all, in a good way! Wyndham is not a new building, there are sounds from the elevator, and HVAC. The view, location, and staff are worth it!!

Great location, pool was lovely, easy parking, deli within walking distance, good sized room, helpful staff, quiet despite our room being at the front of the hotel

We were given a room right next to the ice machine which was super noisy when we checked in. They moved us but couldn't give us a like for like room in terms of what we paid for. The new room was fine but the original one would have been great had it not been right next to the clanging ice machine. Parking was convenient but pricey per night. The hotel overall needs updating - felt dated and furnishings need an update. Bed was extremely soft - felt like being sucked into a marshmallow which after 5 nights wasn't great for our backs!

We really enjoyed the location by the water 10 minute drive to Petco Park Clam Jumper great breakfast and the food was excellent at restaurants across the street by the bay

A little disappointed when checking in The staff member took my name for reservation stating he would be right back with no explanation for about 15 minutes as other staff members were taking other people Sunday evening we reported when returning to our room housekeeping came in cleaned the room but left door ajar so anyone could walk in When reporting to make sure housekeeping could be more careful to make sure door was shut the staff member acted like she didn't no what to do. When checking out we mentioned again The staff member said she would make sure to report and let housekeeping staff know make sure doors on rooms shut It was very much appreciated

Luis, at the the front desk and manager Chris. Wonderful, accommodating front desk manager and front desk miracle workers that have a flair for making people welcomed and valued. They take extra steps to make sure guests are happy with all desires. We booked in early, and accommodations were made for our early arrival. They changed our room without a second thought after we were unhappy with our first room.. (we paid for a bigger room). All was made right by them, upgrading to a beautiful room on an upper floor.

Strange placement of lighting switches. None very accessible at night after being out all day and returning at night to dark, hard to find light switches. Sunday and Monday front desk staff was rude and just not so helpful.
