We had a great stay at this motel. The beds were really comfortable, and the furnishings had a modern, updated feel that made the room more enjoyable. The location was also super convenient right near plenty of restaurants and shopping options. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff were friendly and pleasant to deal with. Overall, it was a smooth and comfortable experience.

While my stay was overall very pleasant, there are a few areas that could be improved. The mini bar fridge, while convenient, was fully stocked, leaving little to no space for guests to store their own items especially challenging given the fridge is quite small. The bathroom could also be more comfortable during colder months. There was no heat lamp, and the bathroom window had an open vent at the top, which made it quite chilly particularly for someone visiting from Queensland in winter. Lastly, the single bed didn’t have an electric blanket, which would have been a welcome addition during the colder nights.

Great location- only an 8 minute drive to the Zoo and a range of dinner options close by. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. We loved meeting the “Bluegum motel cat”, who lives on the property- so cute!

The walls are quite thin, so you can hear other guests in their rooms. However most guests were very quiet at night, so this didn’t end up being an issue for us. One side of the shower screen leaked onto the floor, this didn’t bother us as it wasn’t where we walked, but thought we’d mention it so it can be fixed

Room was nicely appointed - large comfy bed. I slept like a log. There was a pleasing, fresh scent in room upon arrival. Very friendly greeting at reception. Better quality toiletries. It was very easy to get Uber takeaway delivered to room after a very long day- quality plates, cutlery and glassware for two. Nice little mini bar snakes in room to purchase if required. We would definitely stay there again. Manager recommended fabulous local cafe for breakfast too - he was spot on! Decent sized table for two to eat dinner on- fabulous leather couch in room to watch TV on and chill.

Everything was excellent. The gentleman at reception was incredibly friendly and a pleasure to deal with he kindly upgraded our room upon request, which we really appreciated. Thank you for the outstanding service. The rooms were spotless, and the beds were extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to my friends, family, and anyone looking for clean, spacious, and well-located accommodation in Dubbo, close to shops, restaurants, and the zoo.

My only recommendation will be to the housekeeping team not to knock the doors at 9am and try to get in as the check out is 10am.

We recently stayed at the Bluegum Motel for two nights while driving from Brisbane to Sydney, and it served as the perfect stopover for our visit to the Dubbo Zoo. The facilities were very nice, clean, and modern, with comfortable beds that made for a restful night’s sleep. We loved the added touch of having room service available, along with a Nescafé coffee machine and milk frother with daily replenishment of coffee pods was a nice added touch. The lovely pool was a refreshing bonus, ideal for a quick dip after a long day of travel. The staff at reception were friendly and professional, making us feel welcome right from the start. Location-wise, Bluegum is excellent, being conveniently close to the zoo and within reach of Dubbo's town center where we found great shopping options and nice restaurants and cafe’s.

As for the downsides, there really was nothing to complain about. While the room was typical in size for a motel, it exceeded our expectations as a quick stopover.

The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean, with modern and stylish décor. Our room was well-equipped with all essentials, ensuring a convenient stay. The pool area was spotless and modern. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, the price was very reasonable for the excellent amenities and service provided. Also, it is very close to all amenities. The cake shop across the road from the accommodation had the best coffee, cakes, and sandwiches/rolls. Highly recommended the accommodation!!!

Nothing I could that I didnt like

The property owner was fantastic, we arrived in the afternoon after a long day of driving and she quickly sorted our room. Best service I have had to be honest and as a result I was upgraded to a bigger room. The room was super quiet and the bed topped it off being so comfortable. Terrific service and highly recommended. I’ll be back for sure, thanks for looking after me my and my young fellow. He loved it.

Service, Location, bed and room being quiet.

The room was large, airy and comfortable. Mini bar and snack stand were fully stocked. Bed was very comfy including the pillows. Air con warmed the room very quickly. Staff are friendly and helpful.

There was no lift. As a stage 4 cancer patient I struggle a bit with stairs. It was not a show stopper and it was only one flight so not too bad.

Room was spacious, extremely clean and very well appointed. The beds were super comfortable and we loved the range of snacks and drinks available from the mini bar.

The hotel is sited on a very busy road and it was pretty noisy during the day. That said, it was much quieter during the night and didn’t bother us at all.

We liked that the owners were so friendly, that the AC worked brilliantly in very hot weather, that the rooms were quite large and it was quiet. We also really liked that we could put our freezer packs into their freezer overnight so that they were properly frozen for each day.

Our preference is for a hard bed, and we found the bed a bit bouncy for us. But this doesn't mean it was bad, just that it wasn't our preference.
