Like the old showerheads with great water pressure - then this place rocks. The family room was excellent and plenty roomy for all of us. The kitchenette was fantastic! Parking was easy - as was location. After hours access was REALLY simple - great comms from the motel. Room was clean, lots of equipment and utensils ready to use. If you are looking for affordable accommodation especially all those ATHLETICS families then this was great - and we have tested MANY out in Dub Vegas. Definitely would stay again or recommend if anyone asked.

We were sad we arrived 10 minutes after the pool shut, we would have loved a dip, but at the same time we get that there has to be a time to shut it down, but in the heat (especially a big athletics weekend meet), it would have been nice to extend the hours. The Newell highway is close by and you can hear traffic BUT we just put on our trusty rain sounds and slept away - it really isn't that big of a deal ! Some people might say the bathroom was tiny given its a family room - but hey THE PRICE and LOCATION were GREAT and really that's a small thing in the great scheme of things!

Spacious room with great kitchen facilities which meant we could prepare our own meal. Comfy bed, great pressure in the shower and the pool was a bonus on a hot day. Checking in at 2pm is so welcome when you are travelling and Tallarook has this available, a big plus for them! Free parking on site another bonus. Location is great - by the river pathway so you can enjoy a morning or evening walk.

Only thing was the noise coming from next door's tv, walls are pretty thin if volume is up loud.

The room catered for our family of 6 and had everything we needed for a comfortable night’s stay. We didn’t use the cooking facilities in our room (due to time constraints) however it had everything we would have needed, including a knife that was actually sharp - which is rare in a motel room. The heating worked well and there were extra blankets if needed.

We were really happy, if I had to say something…the furniture is getting a bit dated. Nothing that would deter me from staying though!

Good sized room with comfortable bed. Good cooking facilities in room. Warm room for winter. Good wifi. Staff were friendly & helpful. Complex itself is quiet, although some workers leave early in the morning. Free parking on site (can be tight during busy times). The Zoo and Gaol are must sees!

Lots of car noise in the streets, especially on the weekends. People tend to sit on joint verandah & chat, which echoes under the carport, but noise quietens down about 9. Shower ran extremely hot then went cold after one shower on day 1.

We didn’t have breakfast there. Pleasant outlook to the river and walking track a bonus. Reasonable walking distance to town. Good to be off the main arterial roads.

The cleanliness of the glasses, cups and cutlery was questionable. The glasses had not been washed properly by previous guests. Definitely needed to be washed before use. So washed up everything else we used as well to be hygienic. Maybe too much to expect previous guests to wash up to acceptable standards without cleaning staff doing a check.

Beds were comfortable. Arrangement of beds - good choice. Loved the pool. TV in the main bedroom gave extra space for family members to spread out. Loved the location - being across from the park gave a great location to have dinner.

No lounge to sit on. No tea towels to wipe up dishes. No sidetables next to the beds to place phone, watch or glasses. Some general maintenance requires attention: the shower door scraped on tiled frame. The door frame of the balcony door overlooking the pool separated from the door frame/bricks of the building when we opened the door.

I called to book and spoke to Colleen who was super helpful. When I told her we would be arriving on motorbikes she immediately assigned our room so we could park directly outside without having to stop at reception to do the juggle with helmets, gloves and room keys. She also upgraded us, which was lovely. We couldn't fault this motel or the staff and would happily stay there again. We particularly loved the towel and tissue origami in the room 😄. They go to a lot of effort to make the rooms pretty and comfortable.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Great location, very central & easy to find & just a short drive to shops & restaurants etc. The room was excellent, very large & clean. A bath towel & face towel were laid out on the beds for each person, together with small tubes of shampoo & conditioner, plus a small cake of soap. Cooking facilities were provided via a four burner electric stove/oven & as well as an electric frypan. Frypans, saucepans etc were there for you to use if you wanted cook your own meals. Cleaning materials were also provided for the washing up. There was a very good size fridge which was nice & cold on our arrival. Plates, bowls & cutlery were provided for 4 people. There were also the usual toaster & kettle, as well as a sandwich toaster, together with tea, coffee, sugar & milk. The Tallarook is a pet friendly motel & I did have my dog with me. We all enjoyed our stay, even though it was very brief. I have no hesitation in recommending the Tallarook & if travelling through Dubbo again I will definitely return there.

Good value for money and fantastic location. You can ride right from the motel along the river to the zoo without having to cross any roads until you get to the zoo. There is a park and river opposite, and the pool was fantastically refreshing. Cooking facilities were basic but very much appreciated. We felt safe staying here.

Could smell cigarettes from someone smoking outside our room a few times.

Great location as quite a few eateries within a 5 minute walk and a 7 minute drive to Dubbo Zoo! Very clean room and comfortable bed. Had a full-size fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and convection oven with hot plates on top. Supplied crockery and cutlery, as well as milk, teabags, coffee and sugar sachets. Great shower and supplied, shampoo, conditioner and soap, as well as a hairdryer. Loved the extra sink in the kitchenette for washing up and dish detergent, dishcloth and tea towel were supplied. Had a full-size mirror on the wall near the bed.

Unfortunately there was a bit of a draught coming from the windows behind the bed. The bathroom is quite narrow and the sliding door makes quite a bit of noise to open and shut (especially noticeable in the middle of the night!) it also doesn’t have a runner or something to stop it banging against the wall. These did not stop us enjoying our stay and we would stay again if we were in Dubbo, however, we may ask for a downstairs room next time, as being seniors, it would save us having to lug our gear upstairs!
